Politics / Re: Points To Note From Tinubu's Path To The Presidency by callthefred: 12:13pm On May 28, 2023
As much as I understand those who believe Tinubu rigged due to violence in some polling units. They also need to understand that rigging or violence didn't happen in all 176k polling units nationwide. Tinubu's election may not be perfect but where in the world has a ruling party come third in an election before?

A ruling party will either win or come second. The truth is PDP failed by been carried away by money. All they believe was to get someone rich enough to face APC in the elections with money, reputation or integrity doesn't matter... and they allowed their greedy delegates ruin their chances. PDP has always lacked strategy. They are too controlled by money they can exploit from a candidate. If not for money Gov Adeleke would never have won in Osun. But trust PDP, it is always who had more money that they believe would make a better leader. Hopefully they've learned the hard way but I know they wont

You believe Nigeria can't be saved but still think Peter Obi can reverse her bad fortunes. What you may fail to understand is that integrity or personal conviction isn't what NIgeria needs. No former Nigerian President was as less corrupt as Buhari but we've all seen how a worse disaster he became. The truth is Peter Obi himself would get overwhelmed. Remember same Peter Obi even as governor made many moves that has bigotry tune. He would have probably done worse because his kinsmen would frustrate his efforts just like they did Buhari. Buhari started well with initial gra gra but got overwhelmed. Same fate would have befell Obi.

I am convinced only crooks and mad men like Atiku and BAT could have really made the chances that is if they are willing to sacrifice personal greed as they both promised. Nigeria need a practical and realistic person to handle this nation. Forget the idea of been a perfectionist. All we can do is hope that BAT won't allow his personal greed.

Obi2saveNigeria:
Nigeria is dying a natural death but you all keep deceiving yourselves. I have checked all indeces, made analysis, extrapolated and projected forwards, and all I can see is a dead end.

Peter Obi probably could have have helped to reengineer the country but that opportunity was missed. Instead what should have been a rallying moment turned into a disaster.

Charles Darwin's theory is playing out on Nigeria and you can't save something that can't be saved.

Politics / Re: Section 37: Is Wire-Tapping Someone's Private Phone Conversation Legal? by callthefred: 6:31pm On Apr 02, 2023
lhordspy:
Maybe we should leave political sentiment asides. We all know Peter Obi made some extreme religious political moves during the presidential campaign period by manipulating, exploiting and exploring our religious diversity to his own advantage. But the thing is no matter how interesting the latest finding is and no matter how fulfilling it is for we the progressives. I think it is time we start asking questions about the supposedly 'exclusive-findings' of gazetteNGR of recent. With this latest one clearly violating the section 37 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of N8geria which state that:

''The privacy of citizens, their homes, correspondence, telephone conversations and telegraphic communications is hereby guaranteed and protected.''

Even though i dont know how these things work entirely. But i have seen some crime movies (for example: TheWire, Sopranos, Power etc) where even the law enforcement agents/agency will have to acquire something like a court-warrant or court permission with enough reasons; a very convincing motives, to be able to secretly wiretap phonecalls of a criminal or any other person during investigation. You have to convince a judge to the fullest before the warrant or permission is granted. Failure to secure the warrant and going ahead to carry out the action make it illegal, a crime with serious consequences which also render the voice-conversation gotten from such unauthorised secret-wiretap inadmissible in court as an evidence.

I think the labour party camp should drag gazetteNGR to court and whoever published that voice conversation should be made to testify as to the real source of the wiretap under oath. Somebody need to start paying for these illegal acts carried out all in the name of investigative journalism. We cant keep operating as a lawless country.

Today it is Peter Obi, it can be anyone tomorrow. I don't even feel safe making phonecalls anymore.

Except Gazette is also protected by law. They are bound not to disclose their sources just like lawyers too. The fact is that Obi was careless. All politicians should expect their phones, offices, cars and even bedrooms to be bugged. This is a game for the mad people alone.
Politics / Re: Election Tribunal: 15 Things Judges Should Consider – Pastor Enenche by callthefred: 6:26pm On Mar 27, 2023
All these emotional blackmailing of judges will not work. We've seen judgments in Nigeria that we may not like but you must understand that the judges must follow the law. The problems of losers is that when it doesn't favour them it is bribery but when it does judiciary is good.

Many of Peter Obi's petition had been laid to rest in many judgments before it, all thee respondents have to do is make references to those judgments. I am sincerely disappointed in many Pastors and Lawyers who are clearly partizan and refused to listen to alternative arguments. They are setting up themselves for more heartbreaks.

Just like in Osun, we knew common sense will prevail but the same common sense and law will also prevail in the presidential petition and I don't see how Peter Obi will win this. Unless the laws of the land are changed.

He did say yoruba's are political rascals. Although he may not have meant it and could have been a gaffe but if Tinubu had said that I know the country would have burnt by now. Clearly the Igbos were led into believing that Christian yorubas wouldn't vote BAT because he doesn't have a Christian VP. Yorubas are too sophisticated for religion to divide us.

by breaking people's skulls...........something has changed in the air , there will be consequences !

In all fairness, how many polling units did you see anyone's skull broken in Lagos?? Lagos has close to 15,000 polling units. How many did you hear incidents?

The truth is Igbos have always made bad political choices out of sentiments. When Zik could have become a PM, he jettisoned it to become an ordinary ceremonial president because he hated Awolowo, forgetting Lagos gave him his first seat in parliament.

When we voted GEJ and Igbos dominated that govt, what did their people gain? Olisah Metuh alone had to return 400m.

Yorubas even gave Atiku a whole state. We were strategic, y'all got carried away thinking SE and SS alone would vote abi? Ekiti is the largest christian state in SW with almost 90% been Christians, they still voted BAT against the propaganda that he chose a Muslim ticket. We dwell on facts and not lies. No doubt the Yoruba played the tribal card. Same thing Igbos played to support GRV. APC only had a better strategy. Forget every other nonsense.

Mustaphaarome:

How can you rule a country which you not wildly accepted in the whole country?

Whether you believe it or not, across the 6 northwest state peter obi can never get 10% vote even if you conduct election 100 times, state like yobe, Maiduguri, gombe jigawa and bauchi too, then come to state like kogi,Niger,Kwara totalling 14 state..
Then minus 13 from 37 then you have 23 state remaining

There is no how you win Nigeria presidential election which just 23 state ...

Peter has really done enough, he just need to work more on his wins and work towards 2027 and find his way through the core northern state at least 5 of them , then he can win,,, for now if truly he believes in the betterment of Nigeria as he claims then let him work with, and if tinubu open arms for him while he showcase what he plan for Nigeria...

Sellah

Apart from Lagos he won't get 20% anywhere in the SW either. Take it or leave it. Igbos voted him based on tribe and wouldn't have any other tribes vote their own? They can deceive you with the Ojukwu contested story but Sowore also contested in 2019 and Yoruba didn't vote him.

The only reason I supported Peter Obi was because based on equity I think a Ibo man should have it also to show they are incorporated but instead of forming and pushing for alliances they were pushing religious sentiments. They felt the SW wouldn't vote BAT because of his running mate. Ekiti is almost 90% christians in SW and Tinubu won in a landslide. Yoruba won't voted based on sentiments but trust. The more they can understand that the better otherwise they'll just be bitter.

You mean the same Igbos who attacked Oore without provocation until the Yoruba army dealt with them?. The same Igbo whom only the Yorubas returned their properties back after the needless civil war, why are Igbos so fixated on Lagos?. Say what you will we voted LP in numbers which y'all couldn't do with another party in the presidential elections and if you mention one nonsense Ojukwu be reminder that we also didn't vote Sowore a Yoruba man 4 years ago. In 2011 we voted GEJ. But when a visitor aspires to take over your house and spit it to your face, you'll fight back. APC had a strategy to campaign based on sentiments and it worked. Why are you guys angry ??

1. But our women are instead instructed to work instead towards pleasing the man even in his cheating in hopes that they can somehow win him back by bending over backwards even more for him undecided

I think this alone won't work. We might also need to understand that all men don't enjoy same fantasies but I'm yet to see a man who is okay with been cheated on. I'll never advice cheating because it gives the man the perfect excuse but giving him ideas that cheating is inevitable is going to seriously force him to do more. And you see respect, there's nothing a man craves more.
Family / Re: My Husband Has Gone To See His Side Chick's Mother by callthefred: 12:32pm On Mar 15, 2023
As a married man I think the best way our women can really get to us to is pretend like they are cheating but not actually cheat. If a man ever gets to find out his wife will cheat because of his own unfaithfulness, it will bruise his ego and would force him to retrace his steps. But don't cheat because if you do it gives him that excuse he needs but pretend it threaten to cheat and let him know you caught him but not in a messy way. Also, show him more respect. Not even love. More respect!!!

This news is just nothing but sentiments and propaganda. The woman in the video is clearly a canvasser and she made that clear. They are the so called structures. Most of the online canvassers also got paid but gullible followers didn't know. Peter of Psquare used the OBIdient campaign to renew his Hero beer ambassadorship contract with Obi and that company.

As long as these are not the voters induced then I can understand party members who worked for their party must be compensated. You may drink hypo over this news but it's nothing new. World over, governments employs consultants is any field to guarantee results.
