Today's update — JAMB released the most selected universities for 2026: LASU — 84,426 UNILAG OAU — biggest rise, jumped from 9th UI — 58,895 UNIBEN FUOYE — 48,272 More applicants = tougher competition. Drop your score and university — I'll calculate your chances. 🎓 |
You've raised a very valid point and it goes beyond just JAMB. The system has deep structural issues — from parenting to teaching to policy. But while we advocate for systemic change, students who are in this cycle right now still need to navigate it the best they can. That's what we try to help with here — making sure no serious candidate loses out due to lack of information or wrong calculations. The next Steve Jobs and Chimamanda are out there. They just need the right guidance at the right time. 🙏 |
Those are commendable scores for the University of Lagos (UNILAG), but the parents/candidates need to be aware of the 2026 admission cycle's specific rigors. While the National Minimum Admissible Score was set at 150 during the Policy Meeting on May 11, UNILAG traditionally maintains a far higher internal benchmark (usually 200+) and a very strict aggregate weighting system. 1. Accounting (246): This is a competitive score. However, Accounting is a top-tier department. Success will depend heavily on their O'Level results and the upcoming Post-UTME. 2. Mass Communication (228): This candidate is in a more delicate position. Mass Comm often has a very high merit cut-off. A stellar Post-UTME performance is mandatory to secure a spot. Important Compliance Notes: Age Requirement: Ensure both siblings will be 16 years old by September 30, 2026. The Ministry of Education has strictly upheld this for the current session. Admission Deadlines: Public universities must conclude all processes by October 31, 2026. I highly recommend they use the CampusAI.ng aggregate calculator. It has been updated with the May 11 policy guidelines and UNILAG’s specific formula (50% JAMB, 20% O'Level, 30% Post-UTME) to give them a realistic percentage of their admission chances. Best of luck to them! |

So I have been seeing a lot of posts here from 2026 JAMB candidates asking "is my score enough to enter [university]?" and I decided to do something about it. I spent the last few months building a free tool that answers this question using actual data. It is called CampusAI.ng and it works like this: You enter your JAMB score, your course and your university. It then calculates your aggregate using that school's exact formula — whether they use 50:50, 50:30:20 or point-based system — and tells you your admission probability as a percentage based on the last 3 years of cutoff data. I tested it on UNILAG Medicine with a score of 230 and it gave me 78% probability with a breakdown of exactly why. With May 11 cutoff meeting coming up on Monday I thought this would be useful for people here. Link: campusai-ng.
