Fashion / The Most Tattooed Man In The United Kingdom Is Still Searching For Love by candace95: 10:50am On Mar 21, 2022
Despite receiving a lot of interest on Tinder, Britain’s most inked man, known as King of Inkland King Body Art The Extreme Ink-ite, is still looking for love.

The 42-year-old effortlessly gets matches on the dating app and he has enjoyed casual hook ups – but unfortunately it hasn’t led to anything serious.
Born Matthew Whelen – but now known as Body Art – the tattoo addict believes some women struggle to see past his heavily inked skin.

he said: “My Tinder is always full and I’m always going out on dates but it tends to never really come to anything.

“I am more of a friend zone type person with some people.”

And Body Art – whose name in full is King Of Inkland King Body Art The Extreme Ink-ite – said women on Tinder constantly ask about his tatts.
The body mod fan, who is often referred to as the most inked man in the UK, said: “If you are on Tinder it’s not just about personality for some people – they have to be physically attracted to you.

“And I would say nine out of 10 people will ask about my tattoos on Tinder after matching

“I have become a bit of a robot to it.

“I have like a chip programmed inside me to respond to certain questions. It’s almost as natural as saying, ‘Welcome to McDonald’s, what can I get for your order’?”

In 2019 he said: “I have a very active social life. But I haven’t had much luck finding love.

“A lot of women are put off by my tattoos or it makes them really curious. I’m a bit like Marmite so you either like them or you don’t.”

And he added: “I’m nearly 40 so I would like to settle down and have a family. But at the same time I understand that the way I look might create an issue for some people.
“A lot of women are really shallow and only go for guys with Love Island-type bodies. Then I get other women who are just interested in me because of my tattoos.

Three years later, he is now 42 and he is still searching for his soulmate.

But Body Art, who has his eyeballs inked, remains upbeat and is enjoying life.

He said: “I’ve had relationships and stuff like that. I’m single at the minute but I’ve got kind of girlfriends.

“You attract different types. One girl I was seeing was a bit of a psycho and the girl that I really wanted to see really didn’t like the stares and stuff when we were out and the attention I got.”

Body Art himself is used to people staring since getting over 90% of his body inked throughout his adult life.

He got his first tattoo aged 18 having dreamed of having one from the age of was nine.
And he broke his own record in 2016 by allowing 36 different artists to tattoo his body at the same time.

His worst experience was being stabbed for his extreme appearance in 2009 – but now it’s just judgement and curiosity he contends with.

And speaking of the attention he gets, he described last week how kids in Tesco point and call him “scary”.

He added: “Do I like it? Yes and no. It is a strange thing because I would like to be a colourful shadow just blending in but when you are a big colourful comedian like me it is hard.

“On a night out for example you want to give people the courtesy if they ask a question but when you’re out with your friends and they have heard the questions a thousand times it gets a bit much.”

According to Ukrainian media, Ukrainian film star Pasha Lee gave his bulletproof vest to a child in a heroic gesture just before his death.

According to reports, the 33-year-old actor was assisting children fleeing a house during an evacuation in the town of Irpin when he was killed by Russian shelling.

Lee, who was well-known for his acting, presenting, and voice-over work, was assassinated near Kiev, Ukraine, on March 6, as the area surrounding the city was occupied.

Lee posted a photo of himself dressed in military gear with the caption ‘LET’S UNITE’ five days ago.

Additionally, he used Instagram to share resources for assisting Ukrainian refugees worldwide.

His most recent photo, which was tagged in Irpen two days ago, was captioned: ‘For the last 48 hours, there has been an opportunity to sit down and photograph how we are being bombed, and we are smiling because we will survive.’

Sergiy Tomilenko, President of the Ukrainian National Union of Journalists, paid tribute to the late actor on his Facebook page.

It read: ‘(Pasha Lee) went to fight for Ukraine from the first days of the war and died in Irpen, where there are still fierce battles with Russian occupants.

Crime / The FCCPC Conducts Raids On Online Loan Sharks In Lagos by candace95: 6:22pm On Mar 14, 2022
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and other federal agencies, raided the premises of an illegally operated Chinese-owned online money lender on Opebi Road in Lagos over the weekend.

Babatunde Irukera, the FCCPC’s Executive Vice Chairman who oversaw the enforcement exercise, condemned the exploitation of Nigerians by unlicensed online money lenders in the country, noting that the majority of them are not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and lack the necessary licenses to conduct business.

According to him, the activities of the company were against the rights of Nigerian consumers.

Irukera said many of the online money lenders came into existence during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.

He stated: “This investigation started a long time ago. Sometime during the pandemic, when the country was on lockdown in 2020, we started seeing a rise in online money lenders.

“Because people were on lockdown due to the pandemic, people started needing small easy loans, which is understandable. However, over a period of time, people started complaining about the malpractice of the lenders. So, we started tracking it”.

He stated that after amassing a large amount of information, the commission began collaborating with many other major organizations to investigate the lending businesses’ practices in late 2021.

According to him, the institutions, which include the EFCC, ICPC, National Human Rights Commission, CBN, and NCC, have agreed to work together to examine the operations of money lenders.

“The key two things that were subjects of concern were what seems to be naming and shaming, violation of people’s privacy with respect to how these lenders recover the loans.

“Secondly, the interest rate seems to be a violation of the ethics on how lending is done. So, those were the two things that we set out to look for.

“We started an investigation trying to determine the location of these people and that has been a very difficult thing.

“We did that for several months and so one of them has moved from one place to the other and we have been visiting this place for months,” he stated.

According to him, the majority of organizations did not have physical addresses; all they had was an App, which prompted the commission to gather and engage victims for additional information.

The seized company, Soko Lending Company, employs over 2,000 people and operates multiple loan apps, including Soko Loan, Fast Money, Go Cash, Okash, Kash Kash, Speedy Choice, and Easy Moni.

For example, a worker at one of the raided centers said to the team: “The way the App is programmed, once it is downloaded, the client’s address book (contacts) is automatically transferred.”

According to information gathered, workers earn between N28,000 and N56,000 each month, depending on their schedule.

The FCCPC’s executive director stated that the commission obtained a court warrant, paving the way for an investigation that could result in a search and seizure.

“Sometime last month, a court issued a warrant, and between then and now, we were preparing a sting operation which is what you are seeing here today.

“This is because we want to be sure we are hitting at the place we could get many of them,” he said.

In addition to the sting operation, Irukera stated that the FCCPC issued other orders.

He added that merchants, App Stores, and Google Play Stores where some of the apps were available would be shut down to ensure that victims were no longer at risk.

The FCCPC’s executive director stated that the commission has attempted to freeze some of the accounts used by the management of online money lenders.

“I must add that though not all money lenders are operating illegally, and that is why it has been taking time for us to track these people, it doesn’t mean that the people we are proceeding against today are the only ones.

“No, we want to start with them. We also understand that they are between five to seven companies operating at the same location,” Irukera stated.
