Davido stunned his many fans on social media recently when he gifted one of them a whopping $1000 just to get back at a someone who trolled him.

Trouble started when one of Davido's twitter followers identified as Hopewell, with the handle @hopewellc made a post insinuating that Davido showed up in Zimbabwe and nobody cared about who he was or even cheered for him as people would normally do for superstars.

When Davido saw the tweet, he immediately reacted. He called out Hopewell and asked him to shut up. He then went on to tell his followers to anticipate his next post.

When he finally made the anticipated 'next post', Davido asked his followers to play a game. He asked them to take a look at Hopewell's face and give him a name. According to him, the best suggestion would win $1000.

Davido's excited followers began to suggest different names with the singer retweeting many of them.

Finally, when one of his followers suggested that Hopewell looked like a beggar, Davido quickly settled for it and asked the suggester to send his account details and receive the $1000.

It has not been confirmed if the suggester got the reported $1000.

Popular Nigerian social activist, Charly Boy, has trolled President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf, on social media.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s comments about Nigerian youths being lazy is still causing some ripples around social media.
It will be recalled that the president recently sparked controversy after he berated Nigerian youths for being ‘uneducated’ and ‘not ready to work’.
The President, while speaking during a panel discussion at the Commonwealth business forum in Westminster, London, expressed displeasure with youths in Nigeria because they were dependent on revenue from oil to survive.
After his statement, Nigerians from all walks of life who were really displeased with him, attacked the president on social media.
Chary Boy, known for his activism around Nigeria, has also joined in criticizing the president. This time, he decided to attack the president’s son, Yusuf. He made a post on Twitter insinuating that Yusuf is the real “lazy Nigerian youth”

Verne Troyer, who is best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers films, has died at the age of 49.

Troyer, who was 2ft 8in (81cm) tall, also played Griphook in the first Harry Potter film.

“It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne passed away today,” a post on his official Facebook page read.

“Over the years he’s struggled and won… but unfortunately this time was too much,” it added.

Troyer appeared on a number of reality TV shows, including Celebrity Big Brother in the UK in 2009.

He has also made regular appearances on Celebrity Juice and starred in Keith Lemon’s feature length film, Keith Lemon: The Film.

Another performer of restricted growth, British actor Warwick Davis, also paid tribute to his friend.
One of Troyer’s first roles was as a stunt double for a nine-month-old baby in the 1994 film Baby’s Day Out.

He appeared in two Austin Powers films as Mini-Me, the clone and sidekick of Dr Evil, played by Mike Myers.

“Verne was the consummate professional and a beacon of positivity for those of us who had the honour of working with him,” Myers said in a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter.

“It is a sad day, but I hope he is in a better place. He will be greatly missed.”

Earlier this month, Troyer was admitted to hospital in Los Angeles but his team did not say what he was suffering from.

Two terrorists have ended the lives of about four persons after they detonated a bomb inside a mosque in Borno.

2 suicide bombers (Male and female) of approximate age 13 to 14 years invaded a mosque around BAMA Dina area of Shehuri /Mairi/ Hausari ward of Bama town at about 5:15am this morning and detonated IEDs when people are in the middle of prayers.
Four people were reportedly killed in the attack according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria.
Causalities recorded were mostly male adults and figures will be made available in due course. The victims evacuated to military hospital for further treatment of serious injuries.
Mobilization ongoing for transportation to secondary health facility in Maiduguri for the survivors. Emergency management officials, police IED team, military personnel and CJTF participating in joint evacuation process.

British Prime Minister Theresa May has asked Nigeria and all other countries within the Commonwealth to encourage same-sex marriages. May says she “deeply regrets” the UK’s role in introducing anti-gay laws in its former colonies and the “legacy of discrimination, violence and even death that persists today”.

“Across the world, discriminatory laws made many years ago, continue to affect the lives of many people tens of millions of young people. Criminalising same-sex relations and failing to protect women and girls.”

“I am all too aware that these laws were put in place by my own country; they were wrong then and they are wrong now.

“As the UK’s prime minister, I deeply regret that those laws were introduce…as a family, we must respect one another’s cultures and traditions, but we must do so in a manner consistent with equality, as it is clearly stated in the Commonwealth charter.”
