Chris Oyakhilome, also known as 'Pastor Chris', born December 7, 1963 is the founding president of Believers' Loveworld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy.

He is one of the biggest pastors in Nigeria and in Africa despite starting small.

According to a Forbes rating in 2011, he was worth $30-50 million.

Oyakhilome's ministry holds meetings in the United Kingdom and the United States, and has "healing school" sessions in South Africa and Canada.

Oyakhilome also hosts Higher Life conferences in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, UK, US and Canada, and organized the Night of Bliss South Africa event at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a faction of Boko Haram, has explained why they executed Hauwa Leman, an aid worker with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).



The terrorists also vowed to keep Leah Sharibu, the Dapchi schoolgirl, as “a slave for life”, TheCable gathered.

In a short clip, Leman was forced to kneel down, with her hands tied inside a white hijab, which has a crest symbol, and then shot at close range.

ISWAP, in a short statement, said: “We have kept our word exactly as we said, by killing another humanitarian worker, Hauwa Leman, who is working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) that were abducted during a raid on a military facility in Rann, Kala Balge in March 2018.

“Saifura and Hauwa were killed because they are considered as Murtads (apostates) by the group because they were once Muslims that have abandoned their Islam, the moment they chose to work with the Red Cross, and for us, there is no difference between Red Cross and UNICEF.

“If we see them, we will kill the apostates among them, men or women, and chose to kill or keep the infidels as slaves, men or women.”

A TV Presenter, Alex Kramer, who suffered 35 miscarriages in 7 years, has narrated her ordeal after her last devastating blow which was losing her twins.



Though the 40-year-old woman has two children with fiance Scott – Isobella, six, and four-year-old Josh – she is desperate for a larger family. Alex who lost her first baby and miscarried another nine times before eventually giving birth to her daughter in January 2013, told the Star on Sunday;

The federal government has approved a 90-day special window to register businesses at a reduced rate of N5,000 only”, which was previously N10,000.



This announcement was made by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. According to the VP, the move will further ease the process of registering MSMEs in Nigeria.



In his remark, the VP noted that the special window spans from October 1 to December 31, 2018.

“I am pleased to announce that Federal Government, through the Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC) , has approved a special window of 90 days from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31 to register businesses at a considerably reduced rate of N5,000 only, down from as much as N10,000 previously.’’

The agency said this in a situation report on the flooding which it said had left 141,369 people internally displaced.

Two Malaysian women convicted of attempting lesbian sex in a car were caned in court watched by dozens of people on Monday, media and a state government official said, prompting an outcry from human rights activists.

The lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community is routinely persecuted in Muslim-majority Malaysia, where they are seen as a threat to conservative values.

The women, aged 32 and 22, had pleaded guilty last month to attempting lesbian sex, forbidden under Islamic law. They were sentenced to a fine and six lashings of the cane.

The sentence was carried out in front of about 100 people at the Sharia High Court in Terengganu, a conservative state ruled by the Islamist opposition party Pan-Malaysian Islamist Party (PAS), according to a report by English-language daily the New Straits Times.

It was the first conviction for same-sex relations and the first time a caning had been carried out in public in the state, Satiful Bahri Mamat, a member of the Terengganu state executive council told Reuters.

“Sharia criminal procedure allows the court to determine where the sentence will be carried out, and requires that it must be witnessed by a number of other Muslims,” said Satiful, who attended the hearing. Sharia is Islamic law.

Satiful said the punishment was “not intended to torture or injure”.

“The reason it is carried out in public is for it to serve as a lesson to society,” he said.

Malaysia has a dual-track legal system, with Islamic criminal and family laws applicable to Muslims running alongside civil laws.

The caning of women is banned under civil law, but allowed under Islamic laws in some states.

Amnesty International said the caning marked “an appalling day” for human rights in Malaysia.

“To inflict this brutal punishment on two people for attempting to engage in consensual, same-sex relations is an atrocious setback on the government’s efforts to improve its human rights records,” Rachel Chhoa-Howard, the group’s Malaysia researcher, said.

Malaysian women’s groups Justice for Sisters and Sisters in Islam called for a review of laws that allowed the caning of women.

“The execution that took place... is a travesty and a grave miscarriage of justice,” the groups said.

The case comes amid concerns around growing intolerance toward the LGBT community in Malaysia in recent weeks.

A transgender woman was beaten up by a group of assailants in Seremban, south of Kuala Lumpur on 15 August, in what activists said was part of a growing hostility towards gay and transgender people.

Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari has emphasized that he is not afraid of a free and fair election because his election is a product of that process.

Speaking on Sunday in the Chinese capital of Beijing at an interactive session with the Nigerian community, Buhari said he won the presidency on his fourth attempt.

“We are not doing too badly, but we need your understanding and support. Whatever you can contribute back at home by advising your families to vote for our party.

“I have no fear about free and fair election because that is what brought me here… I know what I want to do, very few in Nigeria politicians could boast of that, I tried four times.

He stressed about challenging the results in his first two attempts then added: “the third time I said ‘God dey,’ and the fourth time technology came and helped us and people’s vote counted.”

He had made a similar comment during a visit to Abuja by German chancellor Angela Merkel, adding that his administration was also committed to the rule of law.

Buhari, a former military ruler of Africa’s most populous nation, came into office in 2015 on the back of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has announced his intention to seek a second and final term in elections slated for February 2019.

He is leading the Nigerian entourage to the Forum for China – Africa Cooperation which kicks off today in Beijing. Dozens of African leaders are currently in Beijing for the summit themed: “China and Africa: Toward an Even Stronger Community with a Shared Future through Win-Win Cooperation.”

There was jubilation during the weekend at the entire Ejigbo community in Lagos State after an alleged notorious armed robbery suspect was arrested.

The robbery suspect, who is also the leader of cult group, Eiye confraternity, identified as Segun Kazeem, aka ‘No Case’, was said to have been nabbed by a heavily armed police detectives attached to Ejigbo division under ‘Area D’ Command, Mushin following a tip off.

The arrest, according to Nigerian Guardian, was personally led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Olabisi Okuwobi.

Further findings revealed that before the suspect’s arrest, one Femi Kazeem was arrested after a botched attempt to rob a woman of her belongings using a stick fashioned like a gun.

Detectives said it was the confession of Femi that led to No Case’s arrest at a secondary school while trying to snatch Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) machines.

A source at the Ejigbo Division said the moment after Segun Kazeem was picked up and a search warrant conducted at his Lafenwa Street residence, the office of the DPO was inundated with several calls requesting for his unconditional release.

Thereafter, a staunch member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) was said to have stormed the division and demanded that he be released to him on bail.

But this request was turned down by the DPO, who also ordered that the OPC member be detained with a view to shedding more lights on the activities of Kazeem.

It was gathered that even when ‘No Case’ was arrested, he boasted before the police officers that they were courting a failing war that might even backfire, saying he was invincible and would soon regain his freedom.

It was also learnt that the state Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, had placed the suspect – who was the leader of some notorious robbers, who specialise in robbing innocent people of their hard earned money and property – on wanted list.

A student of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, was allegedly shot dead by a SARS officer in Osun State.

Babatunde Nafiu was reportedly shot dead at about 9pm on Thursday evening in Iwo town, Osun State.



An eyewitness claims that they were looking for a bike man around Ajangbala, area in Iwo town, on their way home, before the SARS officer allegedly attacked them and shot Babatunde. He died at the scene.

Officials of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed expired and fake pharmaceutical products worth N650 million in Kaduna State.

The agency says it is committed to ridding Nigeria of counterfeit and unwholesome drugs towards in order to ensure the protection of lives of the citizens.

The Director-General of NAFDAC, Professor Christiana Adeyeye said there would be no sacred cows in the fight against counterfeit drugs and substandard food products.

Speaking after setting the contraband products ablaze on Friday, the Acting North West zonal director of the agency, Dauda Gimba, who represented Adeyeye described the production of fake drugs as an act of terrorism and economic sabotage against public health.

“The destruction of these items will eliminate the risk of their recirculation into the Nigerian market. Drug counterfeiting is an act of terrorism and economic sabotage against public health.

“The products being destroyed today are made up of substandard and falsely labelled medicines, unwholesome food products, cosmetics and other counterfeit products seized by the agency from manufacturers, importers and distributors. The estimated street value of the products is N650 million

“Also, expired drugs voluntarily handed over by agencies such as the Nigeria Customs Service, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), non-governmental organizations, trade unions, pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and the National Association of Proprietary and Patent Medicine Dealers are included in this exercise.”

Gimba added that the ban on codeine was still in force and the agency is prepared to restore sanity in the health sector in the country.

The agency also urged Nigerians to remain alert, and stop patronising street hawkers, whom they call merchants of death, as well as to always check the labels of all consumables.
