I think that what you have experienced is only PAPER LOSS. You can only get a real loss when you sell those stocks at the prevailing price.
My advice is that stock market is always for long term not a quick money doubling venture and you do not invest short term funds in such an instrument.
I believe that there are chances that you will realize your investment objective in the long run since the companies are not DEAD yet.
Just be patient.

it is more of an accounting loss. based on accounting standards companies most report this kind of stuff at fair value even if it is not yet sold
