I love how folks forget there is bisexuality (and other terms like pansexual, omnisexual and the unofficial one - try-sexual). Folks can be funny that way, they assume you're either straight or gay, no in-between, no nothing (asexual, yes that's also a thing) or otherwise. Apparently, I've opened NL to another level...On Korrasami, I never really saw it in the first 2 seasons, but in the last 2 seasons they grew closer and I started noticing the subtext, by the last scene of the series finale, it moved to main-text. Look at it this way, would anybody have doubted it if that scene played out the exact way with Mako? |
boofydon:Still not my name, nor my profession. Where the heck do you get these names from? |
Preboy:I didn't used to see them as one, but they've been rather close this season & the subtext in the last 2 minutes of the finale was rather intense, I had to stop walking to watch that scene properly, I expect trillions of fanfics to be written based on that scene. My intermission will soon be over, so I will take a while to reply. |
Seun nailed it about her not targeting the building immediately. She wasted no time in hitting team avatar and her guy. That scene spurned an instant desire for me to write the perfect villain. Shame, I'm too lazy and tired and I'm still at the cinema (good old Bollywood films and their intermissions.) |
Preboy:Well trains are rampant here in England. |
PK |
Omo see me watching it in the cold a$$ train station, they thought I was crazy. I continued watching it after I arrived at my stop, see me walking and watching and praying I wouldn't get hit or something. Chei! Butt kicking at its finest, the animators killed it. They might have tidied up the storyline a little too neat, but I hail them. @Preboy, "do the thing" is now the new "will you marry me". The ending with Korra & Asami will give the Korrasami shippers new life (they might have died and are currently experiencing rebirth). Yes, it's a thing. |
adebayour26:I know what it means, but in this case they're my initials. |
I see, it's that time of the year when I regret making my username as cao... |
Lingaa. |
The Spy Who Loved Me. |
WAGE14:It's a shame you took so long to update. You missed out on a perfect opportunity to talk about it. There's really no point in acting coy for these kinds of things.
|
Connor's War. This is what happens when my Wi-Fi finally starts working & my PS3 is being fussy, I turn to Crackle - to watch questionable action films. I love the fact, I'm solely watching this film because it was the film that was playing at my local DSTV centre, when I went to pay the family's bill about 3 years ago. |
^^ I'll not reply to this obvious bait of a comment. |
chubbypearl:One, you've got tears in your eyes & you're holding them back; the other is full out of control bawling with the waterworks on full blast. |
sparklebaby:And there lies an actual reader on NL... |
Preboy:I know they were in the comics, haven't read any of those. The president wasn't really a hindrance, more an annoyance. He made noise, but didn't really do anything. He attempted to play the long game with no cards in his deck. |
Let's see, bringing back an old thread, funny how most of the films I listed are still in development hell. Still waiting for that God of War film. The Far Cry series would make a good film series. Would also love the Uncharted series brought to life, Nathan Drake needs to be on the big screen. They could make Gears of War the Apocalypse Now of this generation. |
Folks really need to learn the difference between the big screen (films) and the small screen (tv series). Anywho, I'm now watching The Man with the Golden Gun. I'm not going to lie, some of the Bond films have actually bored me. I zoned out for most of Diamonds are Forever & You Only Live Twice. Ah James Bond, Mr. 50 Nos and a yes is still a yes. |
Seun:It's a classic tale as old as time, the revolutionary becomes the dictator, the liberator becomes the oppressor. We all read Animal Farm, absolute power corrupts absolutely. |
Preboy:Hence why I see it as a big risk, the opportunity was too great to ignore, when else would she get all her bad eggs in one basket? Although, I do see your point with the writers, they did turn Azula into a raving lunatic, that kid was a proper villain - imagine if she had reached her full potential as an adult, she would have been the gold standard. Unapologetic, cold, calculating, criminal mastermind & a fire bending master. Instead she turned into a lunatic, under the guise of finally losing it all, after she was betrayed by her partners/friends. It seemed odd after she had already accepted, at a very young age, that she would never be truly loved by her mother (and by extrapolation, everyone else). |
Africandope, the link you've provided to the gta video is restricted, provide an alternative. BTW, that is obviously not a youtube link. |
Preboy:Yes, it made perfect sense, not on a morally or ethical level, but on a military & calculated one. It's just like how bankers try to meet their quota by any means necessary, it's terrible and sometimes morally bankrupt, but they get their numbers at the expense of their customers, who thought they were getting fair and just deals. As usual, y'all never really read through, you stop at one word then roll with it. I gave my reason, why would she waste an opportunity to wipe out her main sources of wahala, the real hindrance to her goal of becoming the great uniter? Of course, it's a big risk, it hinges on the hope that her lover (and everyone else) dies in the process, she would be able to spin it and make him into a martyr, a symbol of the ultimate sacrifice, that Kuvira risked her heart to achieve their shared goal. The girl is already running with the cult of personality thing...this would fit in nicely. |
The latest episode of The Fall. Recommendation: If you want to watch an intense drama (political spy thriller to be precise), I would recommend The Honourable Woman. Every episode was an intense hour of television. "Who do you trust?" Apparently, no one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQYsZEbu1RI |
The minute she asked if everyone was there, I knew she would pull that stunt, it made sense - kill all your enemies with one stone & turn your second-in-command/lover into a martyr for the cause. |
I've spent too many a time watching QI...I discovered the first three on QI. The rest are from the internet. "I do not have to forgive my enemies, I have had them all shot." — Ramón Maria Narváez (1800-68), Spanish general and political leader. Said on his deathbed, when asked by a priest if he forgave his enemies. The last words of General John Sedgwick, who was fighting in the Battle of Spotsylvania during the American Civil War in 1864 were, "Why are you dodging like this? They couldn't hit an elephant at this dist-", and he was shot under the left eye and fell dead before he could finish. Horatio Nelson's last words were, "Drink, drink, fan, fan, rub, rub." He was asking for his wounds to be alleviated. He was given lemonade, water and wine to drink. He was fanned down to keep cool whilst his chest was massaged. "Well I'll be damned. This is funny." — Doc Holliday (1851—1887), wild west gunfighter, remarking that no one ever expected him to die in bed. "I am about to — or I am going to — die: either expression is correct." — Dominique Bouhours, French Grammarian. "Damn it... Don’t you dare ask God to help me." — Joan Crawford, actress, d. May 10, 1977. To her housekeeper, who had begun to pray aloud. "I have offended God and mankind because my work did not reach the quality it should have." — Leonardo da Vinci, artist, d. 1519 "Curtain! Fast music! Light! Ready for the last finale! Great! The show looks good, the show looks good!" — Florenz Ziegfeld, showman, d. July 22, 1932 "I knew it. I knew it. Born in a hotel room – and God damn it – died in a hotel room." — Eugene O’Neill, writer, d. November 27, 1953 "I am still alive!" — Gaius Caligula (12-41 AD), Roman Emperor, after being stabbed to death by his own guards. "Strike man, strike!" — Walter Raleigh (1554—1618), just before being beheaded. "Has God forgotten everything I've done for him?" — Louis XIV (1638—1715), French king. "Why are you weeping? Did you imagine that I was immortal?" — Louis XIV (1638—1715), noticing as he lay on his deathbed that his attendants were crying. "On the contrary!" — Henrik Ibsen (1828—1906), Norwegian dramatist. His nurse had just remarked that he was feeling a little better. "Don't worry it's not loaded." — Terry Kath (1946-1978), American rock musician, while playing Russian Roulette. "Go away. I'm all right." — H. G. Wells (1866—1946). "I'm glad it was me and not you, Mr. President." — Anton Cermak (1873-1933) after being shot in place of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. "Either that wallpaper goes, or I do." — Oscar Wilde (1854—1900), Irish-born British dramatist. As he lay dying in a drab Paris bedroom. "Hey guys, watch this!" — Todd Poller (-2001), who tried to swallow a live perch. |
I keep forgetting that Nigerians associate OAP with On Air Presenter, while over here it is known as Old Age Pensioner. I've been in England for a very long time... |
Ghostfacekilla:You might want to call deebleemmac's number, since he's been MIA after he put that ad in the wrong place. |
marieolae:Nope. |
Vivly:Dies indeed...you've to admire their dedication in missing my name completely... |
cupidhero:Err...that's not my name. |
Maamin:If you hadn't noticed, I put your comment in the right section. |
