I currently use Growatt 6000 ES Plus inverter, powered by 8 pieces of Exulted 460W high voltage panels connected in 2Sx4P.

The problem is the highest the panels have given me is around 1600W for something that should be generating 3600W.

Installer is suggesting doing 7 panels parallel since we can’t connect all 8 in parallel as the voltage will be too high for the inverter to take, leading to a fault code.

I’ve not been bothered since I installed it 5 months or so ago, but now that dust is settling on the panel, panel output has even gone as low as 1000W some times.

Please advise.

3 projects I have handled, the owners used AirConditioner compressor. Mind you, I didn't do the building; just handled the Solar setUp side

700w solar anel will not charge 2.6kwh well.
You need one more 350 orr two 550w which in turns means the charge controller should be more than 30A mppt or you shift to 24v Lithium or nothing

It's widely available nationwide. You can get from Jumia at 330k, or from itel solar website at 304k.
Get solar panel from a reliable seller or Fouani.
Get an installer from your place.

Thanks Chief for pointing out that the cells are indeed balanced (negligible unbalance), meaning I have no problem with the guy’s weird configuration anymore as well as the imbalance of the system.


I use 3units of 180Watts panels. Which is 540Watts. It charges fine. No issues at all with any component of the system. However, the system doesn’t last long enough for its capacity. This is the part I don’t understand anymore.

Pointing out that I should change to an MPPT is suggesting to me that it could be that the PWM is limiting its charge to less than 3.65per cell? Meaning that it doesn’t fully charge the system?

Well, I’ll get the MPPT and see if the problem goes away or not.

The 2nd picture is the spec of the pv input on the body of the inverter
The 3rd is the 535 jinko vmp and imp 40.81v and 13.11A respectively
My question is can I use up to 9 panel of this 535watt on this luxun inverter will it not be above the manufacturer recommendation as again the first picture?

For more context guys:
I use the system for my router, fans and other basic things especially when there is no light.

It is connected to a MSW satchet inverter and a PWM controller.

Even if the satchet inverter has an efficiency of worst case scenario of 70%:
I’m still supposed to get around 540Wh capacity.

But from my testing using calculated loads, this system shuts at 336Wh which is really bad.

Do you mean if I reconfigure it even without balancing the cells that this active balancer will do the work?

Or do you mean I should just add the balancer to the existing configuration?

Got in touch with him about a 48v8kwh battery he had and i assumed the price on his page without confirming from him. It was after making payment we noticed difference was abt 200k. We spoke and he agreed I'd balance him afterwards once client pays balance. He trusted me and sent the battery down and still readily/happily helped with answers when I got stuck during installation.
Installation has bin completed and balance settled.

An important thing Dollarnaira did, was connect the 12v cable direct from the buck converter, so it is super effecient (straight DC to DC)

For such requirement that closes by 5pm or thereAbout, the following once again should be a good enough start;

2pcs USEd 350w solar panels = 40,000 * 2 = 80,000 naira
USEd 24v 3.5kva or 3kva (sachet or hybrid or standard) inverter = 130,000 naira
USEd charge controller (only when not using hybrid inverter)= 60,000 naira
PV cable (poor man's own) = 20,000 naira
Brand new lithium based battery or USEd leadAcid battery 24v = 300,000 naira

installation costs = As the spirit leads

going 12v would only save you few pennies now BUT cost you more later

if you could afford 4pcs of solar panels, better.

if e still expensive for your sister, check to be sure you not trying to help her while helping yourself.
