Hi everyone, I'll really appreciate your opinion on this. Thanks.

quote author=CaptSolitude post=133794891]Hello everyone,

I currently hold a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and plan to apply for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) under the Student Stream. I have a PhD from Nigeria, which I did not declare when I applied for my study visa/permit a few years ago. This was due to the unavailability of the certificate and WES verification at that time.

My question is whether it is advisable to now declare my PhD in the OINP application, as it would earn me an additional points. The PhD certificate predates both the date of my initial study visa application and my extension.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or input on this matter.

Thank you.[/quote]

Are temporary residents entitled to child benefits in Canada? One parent has been resident in Canada for about 10 months.

Hello All,

Do I have to make any payment while submitting passport to VFS?
The passport is being sent to the same location used for biometrics.

Dear intending applicants, I strongly recommend that you apply together as a family. I really doubt that this venture is worth separating couples and children for many months. Apply together, in bulk. My opinion.

No it does not.

Contact Anon123 or check on google for how to order the notes
Thanks once again for your response.

So, I attempted to order for the GCMS notes via the web site - http://www.thegcmsonline.com/. Surprisingly, the consent form sent for my execution has someone's name - Kokare Popat Dada encrypted as the representative. Is this normal?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Dear, Gurus,

Is there any harm in ordering CBSA notes? My application has been pending since early October 2022 and I intend to confirm that all is okay.

Advise pls.

Also, how to proceed with the request.

Dear, Bullstriker,

Many thanks for the prompt response.

God bless.

bullstriker:
Yes, it is for dependents 18 and above. Don’t complete it for your kids
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by CaptSolitude: 3:30am On Dec 05, 2022
Please, kindly respond.

Should I complete imm5257b for my kids applying for study permits? I read on their site that the form should be completed by all applicants, however, on the top of the form it is stated that the principal applicant, his or her spouse and dependents above 18 should complete the form.

It's quite confusing. Pls someone should respond. If, yes, should I then indicate each of them as principal applicant as they are below 18 years old.

Hello All,
I have a SOWP and kids study permits in process. However, my spouse's study permit has few months to expire, we are waiting for the renewed passport to apply for extension. Could this (short validity of existing study permit) affect the pending SOWP and study permit applications?

Congrats!

Emilo:
PPR SOWP Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are such a lucky family through God our Strength. My Wife's admission and PPR was approved in less than 2 months. Now our SOWP application has been approved in less than 2 months.

SOWP Application = October 9th

Biometrics = October 10th

Passport Request/Medical Upfront Update = November 22.

We give God all the praise.

POF = Naira account - 8.5m
= Dollar account - 20,000 dollars

We did all the application our selves, but had Makano (one of the guru here to review all our documents before upload!!)

Yes it is normal, when they receive your medical exam results, they will update your portal as medical exam passed.

Good luck.
Great guy!

Thanks and God bless you.

You can decide to wait for them to request for a medical exam from you or you do an upfront medical. Which ever one you choose to do, you’ll still do a medical exam.

Goodluck
Many thanks.

I've actually done upfront medicals and uploaded same with the application. I just want to confirm if that remark ( You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.) is normal at the initial application stage.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by CaptSolitude: 2:21am On Nov 14, 2022
Please I need opinions on this: I recently sent in my application but the medical review section on the application reads "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.", is this normal? As I clearly would require a medical exam.

Is PPR,
I have been a silent reader and it won’t be nice if I fail to share this great joy with my Nairaland family .

Timeline ;

I will say I’m a third time applicant though first was a visiting visa around 2018 and I was denied based on financial status and assets.

Second application which is for study and that was when i got to know about Nairaland Travel section and I messaged @Anon123 and asked him to guide me through with my application . Then we submitted on 5th of April 2022 after two month, 8th June hot breakfast was served and we applied for gcms immediately and it came out around 29th of July :

Refusal reasons: unexplained lump sums and also the VO stated that the cooperate account statement provided that I did not explain relationship b/w the employee/employer .

What we did different : I paid additional tuition of 9500$ with the previous deposit of 2000$ making it a total sum of 11500$ ,I also went to bank requested for a reference letter stating that am sole signatory to my cooperate and savings account and also added few sales receipts /invoice of my business then we re-fired on 21st of August and PPR dropped on 10th of November.

Documents submitted

1. Letter of acceptance
2. Tuition receipt
3. Marriage certificate
4. Cac certificate
5. My wife’s cac certificate
6. 2 power of attorney of landed documents
7. Property valuation certificate
8. Tenancy agreements from my tenants
9. Sales receipt/invoice from my business
10. Police clearance certificate
11. Cooperate and savings account statement
12. My 2 kids birth certificate
13. Family pictures

I want to specially thank God almighty for making this Canadian dream a reality. I give him all the glory and also i want to thank @Anon123 for pointing me at the right direction and also all the gurus in the house . To the PPR hopefuls keep the faith alive it will surely end in praise . Amen

What is bothering me now is that I can’t find my biometrics receipt anymore though will be doing walk in passport submission since I live in Abuja until I get there this week will find a way out .
Congratulations!

Hello everyone,

I recently applied for sowp and for study permits for my kids, however, my spouse's study permit has about 4 months validity. We await renewed passport for extension application. Could this hamper the sowp application in anyway?

Dear All,

I really appreciate all the inputs and responses, they've been of immense help.

Please how do I upload all my supporting documents like Academic qualifications, evidences of properties, job experiences, SOP etc? Am I to upload them through the "Client Information" section?
Additionally, how do I upload documents for my accompanying family members (kids) who are applying for study visas?

Much appreciated.

@CaptSolitude

Just your application and you create only one GCKey. While applying, you will be prompted to add other family members to your application.

Practically, your children's profiles will be under yours.

Good luck.

Hello everyone,

I need your kind inputs please.

I intend to apply for SOWP and study visas for my 3 kids.
Firstly, do I have to raise 4 different applications?
Secondly, do I need to create separate GCKeys for all my kids?
Finally, what documents will be required for their applications?

Thanks a lot guys for your contributions on this platform. They’ve been helpful.

I intend to engage WES for education evaluation and have:

1. BSC
2. MBA
3. Have done intermediate level, ACCA (F1 - F9), although I had few exemptions ( I think, F1 - F3).
4. NIM certification
5. ACIB certification ( Chartered Banker)

Please, what is relevant to ask WES to evaluate?
