High unemployment rate in Lagos? Are you kidding me? There are lots of opportunities in Lagos but it's a crazy city. I've lived in both cities but I would choose Abuja over Lagos.

Don't resign until you are sure there is something for you in Lagos. You can consider applying for jobs related to your course of study and maybe alongside, further your education.

ryom: The commonest causes of memory lapse, especially in a young person are psychological rather than organic i.e structural brain lesion. Less commonly in an otherwise fit and well person will be endocrine/hormonal and then nutritional (usually micronutrient deficiency e.g selenium, manganese, magnesium,chromium and the like). Oh and if a female we shouldn't forget anaemia. See a doctor, get a physical and baseline bloods and take it from there. You can PM me for further advice if you so wish. All the very best!

Tallesty1: You need time to relax, meditate and re-train your brain to increase your multi-tasking capability.

You are just stressed, sleep deprived or maybe your brain works too fast and you think about more interesting things and your brain is not able to remember all of them because you don't meditate.

I think I experience that sometimes. I just feel too many things rushing into my head at once, making it very difficult to process all of them. Moments like that, ask me to calculate difficult sums up in my head and I would give you the answers in seconds. Ask me the names of past U.S. presidents and I would respond so fast you would think I was a machine. Words would rush out of my mouth even speeches and quotes of leaders made years before I was born. Ideas pop out of my head like popcorn.

To slow it down, I play chess and it calms me (sometimes). Other times, I can't even remember anything.

Yes Seun, do you think dental problems affect memory? I'm curious.

Tazmode: Really sorry about your predicament. You need to see a qualified doctor for proper diagnosis and medical advice; a nurse's word aint enough. Also, try and record things you'd like to recall, that could help too.

For the past few months, i notice i forget things easily. I find it difficult to remember certain recent events. I forget things committed to memory. I read two chapters of a book and forget what the first chapter was about. I see a phrase, ask me about it in 40 seconds and i can't remember.

It's alarming. Someone copied a phrase from one of my write-ups and acknowledged me as the writer but i had to deny writing the piece until he showed me where i had written it. I was like, "did i write that?"

I checked into a clinic and one of the nurses scared me by saying it could be as a result of a growing tumor (without any test or scan).

What do you think i'm suffering from? Has anybody experienced this? Do you think it could be a tumor?

(I just hope i won't forget this thread in few minutes)
