emaculate99: If an issue is justiciable, that means a court of competent jurisdiction can hear the case and decide on it. If such issue is non-justiciable, no court have the rights to hear such case talk less of deciding on it. Federal Character is non-justiciable, that means you cannot sue the Federal Government to a Federal Court for its non implementation of such policy. Hmmm. That means the government can decide to preach it but not practise it? Does that mean the principle does not hold water in reality? |

Obinoscopy: Sorry guys that my questions are coming late. Please @emaculate99 I observed ypu keep on repeating the word "justiciable". Please can you expatiate what it means for something to be "justciable" Now you took that straight from my mind... Add that to my question emaculate99. And please graciousolo, tell me the source of the Hausa-Fulani 60%-70%-80% statistics in your first submission. |
Sports › Re: Yekini Never Neglected His Mother – Lawyer by Caracta(f): 9:30pm On May 08, 2016 |
DTaj: I agree with the lawyer.
It is common practice with old women (especially in "ilu oke" states- Oyo, Kwara, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun, etc).
They would always seek to sell stuff to remain active.
For instance, as Buhari's number 2 man, General Tunde Idiagbon's mother sold kerosene in their Idiagbon compound family home in Ilorin and refused to move to GRA Ilorin where the son had a house, let alone move to Dodan Barracks in Lagos where Idiagbon lived as Nigeria's number 2 man!!! I really wonder why they are like that. And it works for them...they tend to live longer in good health. Just imagine Idiagbon's mother selling kerosene when she could live at a GRA without lifting a finger. There are some things in life beyond vain pleasures and poshness. |

Emaculate99 and OAUTemidayo, is there absolute equity in Federal Character considering the numbers of ethnic groups in Nigeria and the sensitivity of public offices/appointments? What factors can Federal Character put in place to ensure no group feels cheated or silenced? |
Education › Re: Nairaland Interschool Debate 3RD EDITION -Winner- Obafemi Awolowo University by Caracta(f): 9:13pm On May 08, 2016 |
My question for Neyoor and Graciousolo (any or both of you is free to answer):
Do you think the present rot and corruption in our public offices were caused by the embrace of federal character? Would we have faired better or differently if federal character wasn't considered? Weigh the recently appointed ministers on a scale of merit and federal character and tell us your opinions of them. |

With the way things are, people are not smiling at all...especially when money is involved.
Hopefully the story will be verified soon and we can all support her whichever way.
Stay strong OP. I'm sure you've learnt from this experience. I don't know your location, would have done the verification today. But I'm glad two or three people have volunteered to do so. |

Yeah. I know that church. So alien to me. I was visiting in a new town and it was my host's church. I didn't last two months in that church. I refused to pick a tithe card even after the pastor called me out. I was paying my tithe elsewhere (without card). The pastor even recommended me for deliverance |

I remember seeing his posts here once in a while. This is really a sad news mehn.
I'm struggling to believe because I've seen threads on supposedly dead nairalanders that were false. And then, I knew this guy. Not a good news at all. I dialed his mobile now, switched off! |

Health › Re: Dieffenbachia Can Kill A Child In Less Than A Minute And An Adult In 15 by Caracta(f): 7:17pm On Apr 17, 2016 |
LastMumu: Yes Dieffenbachia is toxic, yes ingesting it can lead to death but the Op is obviously exaggerating its toxicity.
One would have to chew a whole lot of it to result in death, in most cases the major symptoms are vomiting, inflammation of the mouth and diarrhea.
Caracta, what do you think? Well... Poisoning can occur if you eat the leaves, stalk or root. It's also called Dumb Cane. It can damage the kidneys, the arteries or the stomach of those who eat it. It can also produce vomits or diarrhea. As for instant death, I am not too sure. |

sonOfLucifer: Real smart. But nonetheless, the points she made are quite solid. Yes...in a sane country. Nigeria does not seek to protect women or the girl-child like civilised countries do. We just expect our women to sort things out respectfully and be 'submissive'. Nonetheless she has succeeded in painting Wizkid as a silly boy with no regard for women. |
