Romance / Re: I Want To Open Football Viewing Center. Budget 500k by CarlosTheJackal: 6:18am On Sep 15
Nazgul:

Viewing center era just like cyber Cafe era, has longed passed.

These days there are so many apps where you can easily stream live matches on your phone or laptop for free. (I even have one on my phone) So you won't be getting so much customers.

And when you add the current price of fuel, you'll be needing at least 7k (minus Nepa bill) every match day to keep your Gen running. Question is how much would you charge your customers? Cos anything above N200 would be considered as too expensive. And if you put your fee at N500, the place would be so scanty. Most people would wait out the first half and come in when the second half has started so that they can pay a more cheaper amount.

And I don't need to tell you that this would affect your business seriously thus making it impossible for you to raise your principal after one year. (that's if the business survives up to a year)

These days what people do is to set up a bar, buy DStv or GOtv and show all live matches. This way customers coming in would feel more comfortable. They can easily order for drinks, pepper soup, nkwobi... Etc whilst watching their favorite team in the comfortable bar.

If you can increase your principal to 1.5-2m I'll advise you to set up a bar/viewing centre . You'll definitely make more money from it than from a stand alone viewing center.
He has told you his Capital outlay which is 500k and your advice should be tailored towards him maximizing the principal.

Secondly, there are some areas where viewing centre is still a money spinner because of the camaraderie there. He seems to reside in such area and so he is working on doing such business.

To the Op, stand strong and sift through the comments to find solutions to your challenge and work towards your idea. If you believe and keep faith, your business won't fail as long as you are committed to it

Opay has no long term future.

I have written about it in the past. The owners might have good intentions about providing better financial solutions but you see when you start opening branches anyhow, that's where the problem would start from.

The normal regular banks are just so clever in opening branches anyhow not that they can't afford it

You don't expect your staff to rely on salary alone, nah

I was laughing because the woman was told to drink any bottled water. 😂
Don't laugh at the woman cos I'm in same shoes, I've not drank satchet water for close to six years, I drink boiled water at home or some good brand of bottled water.

It's so frustrating for me, Typhoid comes calling when I take sachet water or dare to eat food in road side restaurant

Romance / Re: Landlord Wahala by CarlosTheJackal: 11:11am On Jul 28
LandMann:

There's no how the 60,000 the young man is offering to pay won't cover 3-5 months which can give the young man enough time to work and pay the rest. But the greedy landlord is hellbent on collecting a full year rent as if he's not aware that everybody is struggling to survive in Nigeria due to high cost of food and transportation and other basic needs.

There's no justification for what the landlord is doing.

In fact what the landlord is doing is illegal.

In UK, US, Australia, Canada and Germany rent is paid monthly. These are developed countries with low unemployment and better minimum wage.

Come to Nigeria, the shithole and blackspot of africa where corruption thrives, you'll see greedy landlords charging rents ANNUALLY.

You're asking people to pay rent ahead for accomodation services they haven't enjoyed. What is the rational if not greed and a desire to enslave people?

In today's Nigeria where inflation has rendered people's savings useless, where unemployment is very high which companies take advantage of to pay poor salaries, you will gather mind under whatever guise of securing your investment to inflict pain on your fellow countrymen by charging annual rent for accomodation....

Ever wondered why crime rate is so high in Nigeria?

You that is talking nonsense to defend the lawless and wicked landlord, you may just be the victim of the young man's frustration.

He can just wear a hood over his face and block you in a dark alley to collect your phone and any other valuable he can sell to meet up with the payment.

Perhaps you will try to be a hero and you'll end up getting shot or stabbed multiple times and left in a pool of blood.

It may not be you. It could be your own brother or sister or relative that falls victim to this young man's frustration.

Let's all be guided in assessing public issues and stop thinking like greedy and wicked capitalists that are always driven by self-interest.

Message that didn't deliver and the landlord replied.

The guy is a scammer who use sob stories to defraud people

We both have agreed on the name, she suggested it and i agreed, though it pains me that I wasn't the one that came up with the name fully, but we've already agreed and changing my mind right now will lead to an heavy quarrel and lot's of endless crying from her. That I'm wicked and heartless that after we've both agreed, I changed things.
That boy is your first heir and you should be the one to give him his first name, stop being a sissy, your wife should be attending your own church and not hers, you are the one giving room for all these rubbish and it will come back to haunt you
