Please remember that in Africa, a man pays a dowry on the head of a woman unlike western culture where no such exists, many men arent even bread winners in the family. That's what many people don't realize.

50calibre: None taken. It will work for me because I want women to have rights as well, I despise the way most Arabs treat women so I'm not a control freak but a woman should know how to appear willing at times.

50calibre: I even hope to model my own family after my dad's family, I think it was perfect, productive and efficient.

My mum didn't always have to agree to everything, and neither did my dad try to impose his policies on her, he even allowed her take some deciesions on her own. But the special thing my mum had was the ability to acknowledge when she had to shut-up and let the man take the driver's seat.

So marriage or relationship is never 50-50, not even in the west. It's a man's responsibility to keep his family in check at all times whether they like it or not.

Democracy in the family brings too many problems, the earlier people realize it the better.

A woman should have an opinion, that's for sure afterall men are wrong sometimes. Things even work better when a man and woman put heads together but when the going gets tough the man's opinion and deciesion has to be final.

50calibre: I smell sarcasm here! If so allow me to remind you of china, india, Saudi Arabia, qatar, Kuwait, Jordan etc these are thriving economies with huge male dominance and control, even worse than Africa. In most of these countries women are treated as commodities not humans.
