There's nothing common about you being able to breathe, the gifts God’s given you, the doors He’s opened. When Jesus showed up and walked with the disciples, He seemed common. Just another man joining them. It wasn’t till later that they said, “We knew there was something about Him.” Don’t wait till later to recognize the uncommon in your life.

[b]Today's Scripture: Isaiah 55:9–11

Insight: To urge God’s people to return to Him (Isaiah 55:6–7), the prophet Isaiah emphasized that God’s ways aren’t like ours (v. . He’s far more merciful and forgiving; “he will freely pardon” (v. 7). And Isaiah vividly described the foundational reason for returning to God: He’s completely trustworthy and can be depended upon to do good for His people.

Isaiah used the imagery of precipitation (vv. 10–11) to illustrate this idea. In the ancient Near East, where rainfall meant the difference between famine and harvest, life and death, this comparison would’ve been especially powerful. Rainfall, Isaiah says, makes the earth “bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater” (v. 10). Like rain, God’s words and actions on behalf of His people always bring good—deep joy and a flourishing life (vv. 11–13).

Writing to believers in Jesus who are suffering because of persecution (1 Peter 4:12–16), Peter tells them not to be fearful but to remain faithful, to “revere Christ as Lord” (3:14–15), and to live in a way that honors God before a hostile and unbelieving world (2:11–12). In today’s passage (4:8–11), he encourages believers to “love each other deeply” (v. , which is demonstrated when we forgive one another, offer hospitality (v. 9), and unselfishly use our spiritual gifts to serve one another (v. 10).

Believers aren’t to use their gifts for their own selfish ends but be “good managers of God’s diverse gifts” (ceb); we’re to responsibly use them to edify others and glorify God (v. 11). After ten-year-old Chelsea received an elaborate art set, she discovered that God used art to help her feel better when she was sad. When she found out that some kids didn’t have art supplies readily available, she wanted to help them. So when it was time for her birthday party, she asked her friends not to bring her gifts. Instead, she invited them to donate art supplies and help fill boxes for children in need.

Later, with her family’s help, she started Chelsea’s Charity. She began asking more people to help her fill boxes so she could help more kids. She has even taught art tips to groups who have received her boxes. After a local newscaster interviewed Chelsea, people started donating supplies from all over the country. As Chelsea’s Charity continues sending art supplies internationally, this young girl is demonstrating how God can use us when we’re willing to live to serve others.

Chelsea’s compassion and willingness to share reflects the heart of a faithful steward. The apostle Peter encourages all believers in Jesus to be faithful stewards as they “love each other deeply” by sharing the resources and talents God has given them (1 Peter 4:8–11).

Miss Bayelsa 2021, Queen Biobelemoye Ghandi has called for more women representation in all sectors of society not maligned to homes only.

Queen Ghandi made the call while speaking with selected young female leaders in public function to mark this year's International Women's Day in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State.

According to the beauty queen, to bring true change in society, women should be given their proper place in governance and politics adding that the present condition is not favourable and will lead to more deprivation and neglect.

She noted that when policies and programmes affecting women are brought to the table of policy makers, there few or no women to make quality inputs on such policies.

The Beauty Queen opined that there is need for women’s representation that reflects all women and girls in all their diversity and abilities, and across all cultural, social, economic and political situations.

She emphasized that this is the only way we will get real societal change, where women are incorporated in the decision-making process to promote equality and fairness that will be beneficial to all.

Queen Ghandi cautioned that dreams have no gender.

Citing the important role women play, the beauty queen pointed out that when women lead, we see positive results pointing out that some of the most efficient and exemplary responses to the COVID-19 pandemic were led by women.

She commended all the women, especially young women, at the forefront of diverse and inclusive movements online and on the streets for social justice, climate change and equality in all parts of the world.

'I'm Confused...' Miss Bayelsa Queen Beatrice Ghandi speaks 11 days after her father was kidnapped

The current Miss Bayelsa Beauty Queen, Beatrice Biobelemoye Ghandi has finally spoken eleven days after unknown gunmen kidnapped her father along the Brass river traveling back home after visiting her in Yenagoa shortly.

Queen Ghandi since the incident has been in shock and traumatized.

According to her, the kidnappers contacted the family days after her father was kidnapped demanding a large sum of money and since then kept mute.

Narrating her experience to reporters, she said "I am broken in the bones, I am confused, I don't actually know what to do next..."
She spoke on her aborted medical outreach to Ogbia community.

"I and my team are supposed to be in Ogbia LGA today 20th February for a Medical Outreach, but couldn't go on with that" the Beauty Queen narrated.

Mr. Ghandi was among other community chiefs kidnapped eleven days ago without any report of their whereabout.

The Miss Bayelsa 2021 Queen calls on the state government and Nigerian police to speed up actions for the release of her father and others in the hands of their abductors.

"I call on the state government, the Nigerian Police, and other security outfits to help to see their release and pray nothing happens to them wherever they are held up'', she concluded.

In a keenly contested event held Saturday 19th December 2020 at Trendy Event Centre, Yenagoa, Miss Ghandi emerged as winner through a brilliant performance of creativity, elegance, and vocal prowess.

The beauty queen who is from Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State is 5.8 feet tall, weighs 55kg with amazing statistics of burst 38, waist 29, and hip 42.

Her hobbies are singing, cooking, and writing while building a strong career in makeup artistry.

Dr. John Yusuf, the Senior Pastor of Touch for Recovery Outreach International, TROI Abuja has added another feather to his cap as he received the Africa Most Charitable Clergy award 2020.

Yusuf JS was among recipients of African Goodwill Ambassador Awards 2020 held at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Abuja over weekend.

Speaking with journalists after the ceremony, the Senior Pastor of TROI church said he received the award with joy and deep appreciation to God for contributing to humanity.

According to the clergy, the covid-19 pandemic provided an opportunity to show love and kindness to the less privileged in society to help them ease their pains and agony.

In his words "I was just making my little contribution to provide help and support for my immediate community. I didn't do much but God sees my heart that it is from what He has provided for me that I gave.

"We are encouraged to give especially to the needy. While the pandemic came unexpected, giving became the act that promotes our humanity and oneness thus providing succour for the needy.

"I am so glad that God provided the means for us to give others in their time of need. Within the resources available to me and my team, we gave out personal protective equipment, (PPE), food items and organized online events to keep people encouraged inspired without an iota that somebody is watching", he said.

Youth Group Bestows Award of Excellence as Icon of Women Empowerment on Dr. Yusuf JS in Abuja
Dr. Yusuf John Suberu, philanthropist and Senior Pastor of Touch for Recovery Outreach International TROI Abuja has received an award for excellence as Icon for Women Development in Nigeria.

The award was bestowed on the revered clergyman by the National Youth for Women Empowerment and Education in Nigeria during an award ceremony held in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the body, Dr. Yusuf fondly referred to Dr. Yusuf JS, the clergy's commitment and passion for women empowerment and development cannot go unnoticed stating that women empowerment is pivotal role in Nigeria.

The body noted that the Mrs. Ladi Kwali Platinum Leadership Award of Excellence as Icon of Women Empowerment is a recognition of Dr. Yusuf's contribution towards the progress of women in a society where women have been neglected and marginalized.

They stated that he has used his position as philanthropist to add value to the educational development of women around on daily basis particularly to widows through his provision of shelter and scholarship grant for their children.

The National Youth for Women Empowerment and Education in Nigeria is a body cut across the 36 states of Nigeria including Abuja with no gender bias but focused on championing the course of women in every state of the country.

In the letter of award, the group explained that annually personalities are been recognized for their selfless services that are engraved in the sands of time that have made humanity better especially liberating women from the shackles of poverty, ignorance, illiteracy and all forms of deprivation of women.

Dr. Yusuf is a firm believer of humanity and has contributed in no small measure in the development of women through his foundation providing shelter, scholarship grants and livelihood for the less privileged women in society.

An elated Dr. Yusuf thanked the body for finding him worthy of such a National award of excellence at a time like this saying that he is shocked that his little contributions to humanity is been noticed.

He said, "I thank God for the provision at my disposal to give to the needy and less privileged in society as well as humanity at large.

"For me, the award is a silent reminder for us to do more for women. Women play a critical role in the development of any society; therefore it is important everybody should be concerned to attend to their needs at anytime.

"By the grace of God, for as a pastor and the many privileged I have enjoyed, I am rededicating myself to the service of humanity through this award that was given to me", he said.

Clergyman describes late Flying Officer as an Heroine, Mourns With Arotile's Family

More citizens of Kogi State are mourning the death of the first Female Combat Helicopter pilot, Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile who died in a road mishap at Airforce base in Kaduna after sustaining a head injury.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Dr. Yusuf John describes the late Officer as an heroine that deserves to immortalized and emulate by young persons.

Dr. Yusuf said in such a young age, Arotile has carved her name in the history of national security with her contribution in the fight against insurgency in the northern region of the country.

He described her death as an unfortunate and sad, describing it as a great loss to the Nation and Kogi State in particular.

The senior pastor of an Abuja based church said it is with a heavy heart, he mourns with the family of late Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile and pray God to give the family the strength to bear this great loss.

The the 25 year old Arotile is a native of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, she died as an hero with her immersed contributions to the gallantry of the Nigerian Armed Forces, sending bandits to hell and inspiring the Girl-Child in Nigeria.

According to the Mrs. Pulu-Zifawei, no man can fight God's project and since the inception of the Governor Diri's administration, there are positive signs of development in the state.

Pulu stressed that power comes from God even political positions stressing that without God, human skills and connections will fail which is a clear evidence with Governor Douye Diri emergence.

She noted that politicians should desist from distractive politics and focus on people-centred politics through loyalty and respect for party structure which is the hallmark of party politics in a democratic setting.

Dr. Yusuf JS, philanthropist and founder of Dr. Yusuf JS Foundation has charges politicians in Nigeria to desist from the act of seeking to occupy political offices through the back door and allow the will of people through the ballot to prevail.

Dr. Yusuf JS said this while speaking with journalists in Abuja on the victory of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State at tribunals over the weekend.

According to Dr. Yusuf, politics ends with elections and whoever that is elected by people should be allow to lead them and not be distracted by frivolous legal tussles.

He said that when a leader emerges, politicians should learn how to rally around the person in loyalty and support such leadership to bring the necessary development through good governance.

Yusuf who is from Kogi State, said the act of politicians running to the tribunals to nullify elections for them to get political positions through litigations is a sad tale of the country's democratic experience since 1999.

The political advocate explained that one of the major reasons why Nigeria is experiencing underdevelopment is the instability in governance saying that once a governor is elected, his first one hundred days in office, he is confronted with legal issues.

He stressed that with the victory of the governor at the tribunals, it is time to stop politics and allow the governor concentrate on governance stressing that people should drop all partisan sentiments for the overall good of the state.

The philanthropist who is optimistic that with the elections and litigations over, the governor will use his last term in office to leave behind lasting legacies that will uplift the livelihood of Kogi people as a memorial.

The illustrious son of Kogi State used the opportunity to advice the people of the state to give their total support and cooperation to the Yahaya Bello led administration to bring rapid development to the state.

Two employees of the United Nations mission in Israel have been suspended without pay after a viral video featured a s6ex act in their official vehicle, as it drove down a major street in Tel Aviv.

Recall that in the 18-second video, a woman in a red dress was seen straddling a man in the back seat of clearly marked white UN vehicle. Another man appears to be asleep in the passenger seat.

In a statement released on Thursday July 2, the UN said the men in the video have been identified as staff members of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO), UN military observers based in Israel.

Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesman for the UN's secretary general said the two staff members have been suspended without pay until the investigation into the incident has concluded.

Dujarric told BBC;

"Their suspension was appropriate given the seriousness of the allegations of failing to observe the standards of conduct expected of international civil servants.

"UNTSO has re-engaged in a robust awareness-raising campaign to remind its personnel of their obligations to the UN Code of Conduct."

The UN maintains strict regulations barring sexual misconduct by staffers and has come under fire for violations in recent years. A report by the UN confirmed 175 allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse by staffers in 2019. Sixteen claims were substantiated, fifteen were found to be unsubstantiated, and the rest are still investigated.
