Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2019 elections, Atiku Abubakar, will bring grace and dignity to any assignment he is given.

Obasanjo said this on Saturday during the turning of Abubakar as the seventh Waziri Adamawa by His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu Barkindo Mustapha, the Lamido of Adamawa.

He said: “When we were in Abuja and dealing with the affairs of governance, you did not take lightly cultural affairs back home.
“By every standard, you are a cultured and a cultural person.

“Whatever responsibility you have at the national and international level, I know you will carry this new office with respect and dignity.”
Abubakar vowed to ensure the relevance of traditional institutions in the country by promoting their values and principles to the rest of the world.

He said he would not relent in promoting and advancing the cause and principles of Adamawa Emirate and traditional institutions in general in the country.

Referring to Obasanjo as his boss, the former vice president thanked him his contributions to his mentoring.
He added: “Your royal highness has now given me the highest honour available to anyone from a modest background and achievement.

“The late Lamido, HRH Aliyu Mustapha, may his soul rest in peace, appointed me Turakin Adamawa at the age of 35, making me a confidant and council member of the emirate.

“As his successor, you have accorded me the second highest position, which I am receiving with profound humility with my turbaning as Wazirin.”

Mustapha said Abubakar was honoured because of his contributions to the development of Nigeria in general and Adamawa State in particular.

He said: “Atiku has also contributed greatly to unifying the people of Adamawa and providing useful advice to the emirate.

“The position of Wazirin, which is the highest in the council, puts him in charge of administration of the emirate and is given to people who are educated, honest and God fearing.

Nigerians are not LAZY!
Nigerians are not Mad!

It is insane for the President @MBuhari who is suppose to be the Personification of the country as a whole in the international system to stand on international podium to call Nigerians Corrupt, Lazy and Mad is totally unacceptable. Our memories are not that short to have forgotten these.
We will stand with Truth and Civility.

If this government means well for Nigerians, let them convert all NPOWER Volunteers to Juicy offices such as the NNPC, PTDF, CBN, EFCC, NCC and other key government parastatals. Those positions shouldn't be left for the kids of the high and mighty in the society.

What the hell is this TRADER MONI OF 10K for traders? What is the value of 10k in the current economy? will it be enough to even buy three made in Nigeria shirts? This Trader Moni should be converted to jobs and empowerment.... Nigerians deserve better and not to be treated like slaves in its own country.

Nigerians should have the power within its PVC to let these politicians know that anyone who fails to perform will be booted out of office after 4 years and with under performance penalties.

We have come of age and we should let our voices heard.

Nigerian Youths Will Work with @atiku
To Get Nigeria Working Again.

Former Vice President and the Presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has been turbaned the 7th Waziri of Adamawa Emirate.

The position of Waziri makes the former Vice President next to the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo, in the emirate.

Notable among the dignitaries who attended the ceremony are two former Presidents of Nigeria: Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo. Former Vice President Namadi Sambo was also at the occasion.

President of the Senate and DG of Atiku’s Presidential Campaign Council, Bukola Saraki was also present at the occasion along with his House of Representatives Counterpart Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

The Lamido of Adamawa said Atiku was honoured with the title of Waziri because of his immense contributions to the development of Nigeria, particularly Adamawa State, where his impact was felt in various sectors.

“Atiku has also contributed greatly to unifying the people of Adamawa and providing useful advice to the emirate.

“The position of Waziri, which is the highest in the council puts him in charge of administration of the emirate and is given to people who are educated, honest and God fearing.

“It’s not hereditary and can go to anyone who deserves it.”
While urging the new Waziri to continue to carry everyone along and unite the people of Adamawa for more development, Barkindo urged all other traditional title holders to cooperate with the new Waziri.

Politics / 40% Of My Administration Will Be Run By Youths - Atiku by celinajumbo11(f): 2:19pm On Nov 23, 2018

https://letsgetnigeriaworkingagain..com/2018/11/my-government-will-be-all-inclusive-and.html

His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming 2019 general election has pledged that if voted to power, 40% of his administration will be dedicated to the youths, while 30% for the women folks and 30% for the adults.

H.E Atiku Abubakar who spoke Tuesday night in a function in Yola put together by the Atiku/Obi Vanguard for Good Governance stated that he decided to allocate the largest percentage of power of his government to the Youths because they form 70% of the voting population in Nigeria
It should be known however that 70% of Nigerian voters are youths and women who successive administration has neglected.

‘’Successive administrations have continued to give prominence to the adults in running the governments and they have failed to replicate the tenets of democracy’’ Atiku regretted.

‘’ Unless we shift emphasis and place youths of the country in the rightful places in the scheme of things, we will continue to have the reoccurring restive problem bedeviling the nation’’, Atiku Abubakar added.

‘’Obviously the APC led government has failed to implement all youth related policies and programmes and these are responsible for the growing youth restiveness in most of the states of the country.

H.E Atiku Abubakar therefore called on all youths to vote out the APC government for not meeting the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.
‘’My duty is to get Nigeria Working Again’’.

Politics / Task Force Battalion Attack: Atiku Grants Scholarships To Victims Children by celinajumbo11(f): 9:52pm On Nov 22, 2018
https://letsgetnigeriaworkingagain..com/2018/11/task-force-battalion-attack-atiku.html

His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 general elections, has called on the federal government and well-meaning Nigerians to rise in support of families of the nation’s fallen military personnel who died in the line of duty.

Atiku in a condolence message to the Nigerian Army over the recent attack that led to loss of lives of officers and men of the 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele, Borno State, also tasked those desirous of celebrating his birthday to channel their resources to charitable organizations dedicated to the cause of the common man.

“These deaths are very painful and the loss of even one member of our armed forces pierces my heart because these heroes did not have to die. They volunteered to do a job that keeps this nation safe.

“The gallant men and women of our security services are our first and last line of defense against enemies of our nation and deserve the support and confidence of all Nigerians. We sleep well at night in our beds, because they stay awake uncomfortably in the fields.

“I feel immense sadness when I think of the families they leave behind and pray Almighty God to grant their surviving family members fortitude to bear up in a time like this.

“These men and women gave their best and we must reciprocate their sacrificial giving.

“Instead of celebrating my birthday this year, which is coming up in a few days, I choose to rather celebrate our fallen heroes.

“As such, I hereby declare an endowment to provide full financial scholarships to five children of our fallen heroes from the 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele up to whatever level they are able and willing to reach at the American University of Nigeria, Yola.

“I further call on those who desire to celebrate my birthday, that instead of sending me gifts, they should donate their gifts and money to the widows and orphans of our fallen military heroes.

“I also call on all Nigerians, rich or poor to do what they can for the families of our fallen heroes. They gave us all. We owe it to them to show love and support to the families they left behind.

“I call on the federal government to think about setting up a benevolent fund for the support of widows and children of our fallen military heroes, run by an independent body, to which the public and corporate bodies can pay in funds. This is the least that we owe these gallant heroes,” he wrote in a statement.

Politics / 2019 Polls: We Will Make It Impossible For APC To Rig In 2019 -segun Showunmi by celinajumbo11(f): 1:54pm On Nov 22, 2018
https://letsgetnigeriaworkingagain..com/2018/11/2019-atiku-campaign-we-will-make-it.html

The Spokesman of The Atiku Presidential Campaign Organization, says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will “make it impossible” for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the 2019 elections.

He said Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP, will defeat President Muhammadu Buhari by a “wide margin”.

Showunmi said this on Monday in Abuja at the launch of a book entitled ‘The man Atiku Abubakar, a square peg in square hole: 100 reasons to vote’.

The spokesman said Abubakar would hire competent people to achieve his plans for the country if elected president.

“They say they will rig in 2019 but I tell them it is only when we don’t beat them (by) a wide margin,” Showunmi said.

“We will beat them (by) a wide margin and make it impossible for them to rig in 2019.”

Also speaking at the event, Kola Ologbodiyan, spokesman of the PDP, said the party is open for a peace accord with all the contenders.

“We will support peace accord between major political parties and between major contenders. The Peoples Democratic Party is open to that because we are a party of peace,” he said.

“We are a democratic party, who believes in the tenets of democracy, rule of law, justice, freedom; these are what make us a democratic party.

“If there is any group or a group of nations that are canvassing that we should allow peace to reign during the election, surely the PDP will abide by that.”

Pray for me as my Birthday Wishes, Atiku Tells Supporters

https://letsgetnigeriaworkingagain..com/2018/11/pray-for-me-as-my-birthday-wishes-atiku.html

H.E Atiku Abubakar and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has enjoined his family, friends, and associates to withhold from placing adverts to congratulate him on his 72nd birthday coming up on November 25.
The Former Vice President of Nigeria, made this known through a press statement made available by his media aide, Paul Ibe.

“With utmost humility and appreciation of their good intentions, the Waziri Adamawa would prefer if his well-wishers instead channeled their funds for adverts and congratulatory messages in the media, into charity organizations of their choice, such as orphanages.”

“Atiku Abubakar understands clearly that birthdays are a time of celebration, of looking back and thanking God for life, for achievements and milestones, and for great expectations of a more glorious future to come. He is also painfully aware that, at this time, many Nigerians have little to celebrate: the millions who are out of jobs, the civil servants who are owed months of salaries, the indigenes of villages and towns across Nigeria whose daily reality is violent insurgency or spontaneous attacks, the tens of millions whose dire economic circumstances have earned Nigeria the shameful title of the world’s extreme poverty capital of the world to mention but a few.”

“These times call for sober reflection and prayer, rather than extreme merriment and jollification. These times require laser sharp focus on rescuing Nigeria from economic crisis and global ignominy. These times must be dedicated solely to the task of getting Nigeria working again, on JOBS (Jobs, Opportunities, Being United and Security).”

“The time for celebration will definitely come. But, first of all, the battle for the soul of our nation must be won.”

Atiku Abubakar thanks Nigerians for their overwhelming support of his quest to lead our great country out of darkness into light in 2019.”

“He humbly asks that they, please, keep him constantly in their prayers, on his birthday and afterwards, for the battle truly belongs to the Almighty God.”

Politics / POLICY DOCUMENT: How Atiku's Policy Document Floors Buhari's by celinajumbo11(f): 3:16pm On Nov 19, 2018
https://presidentatikuabubakar..com/2018/11/atiku-releases-policy-document-promises_19.html

His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , has promised to create three million jobs every year if he is elected as president in the 2019 election.

This is one of the key points in the policy document released by the PDP flagbearer today (Sunday), which details a seven-year timeline in which he intends to deliver on his campaign promises.

Giving a breakdown of the rate of unemployment in the country, Atiku said, “Close to 16 million people are unemployed, nine million more than in 2014.

“Over two million new entrants join the labour force each year meaning the unemployed share of the labour force more than tripled in less than a decade: from 5.1% in 2010 to 18.8% in 2017
“Unemployment for women and young people is at 33%, 70% of unemployed youths are uneducated and unskilled.
“Creating jobs and economic opportunities for these people will be vital both for reducing the pool of easy recruits for violent groups and reducing underlying grievances that feed the conflict”.

As a solution, he said his administration, if elected in 2019 will, “Launch a new, more efficient, cost-effective and sustainable national Entrepreneurship Development and Job Creation Programme.

“Target the creation of up to three million self and wage-paying employment opportunities in the private sector annually.

“Target all categories of youth, including graduates, early school leavers as well as the massive numbers of uneducated youth who are currently not in schools, employment or training.

“Create incubation centres, clusters and industrial/commercial hubs to provide a marketplace for MSMEs and SMPs.

“Champion the repositioning and streamlining the activities of the existing Federal and State Government Job Creation Agencies”.

Apart from job creation, the document also lists three other areas of priority namely infrastructure development, human capital development and poverty eradication.

According to the former Vice President, he has plans to lift 50 million Nigerians out of poverty, by 2025.

Furthermore, he stated that he has plans to privatise the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and also sell all four national refineries.

Other area of focus in terms of infrastructure is the construction of 5,000 kilometres of roads, and 5,000 kilometres of modern railway.

A statement released on Saturday, by the Atiku Campaign Organisation, had explained that Atiku’s decision to kick-start his presidential campaign with the launch of his policy document was to reiterate his commitment to running an issue-based campaign.

It added that the intention was to take their policy directly to Nigerians and to register Atiku’s belief that it would take the collective efforts of every Nigerian to rebuild the country.

It read in part, “That is why we want Nigerians to access the policy directly and ultimately take ownership of it,” it said, adding, “Our campaign offers a simple message: United, the people of Nigeria can begin anew, creating a prosperous and secure future and a better life for every Nigerian.

“Our policy document focuses on creating jobs, ensuring security, growing business, developing power and water infrastructure, agriculture and education and how we will empower women.

“Our policies outline the goals and methods for developing and revitalising Nigeria as the foundation of our campaign. This policy document is being launched to encourage a dialogue with the people of Nigeria, inviting everyone to join us in helping to get Nigeria working again.

“The PDP presidential candidate looks forward to conducting vital discussions as he travels across the length and breadth of Nigeria, meeting and talking with stakeholders – farmers, small business people, workers, students, mothers, and children.”

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will kick-start his campaign for the 2019 election with a special address to the Nigerian people on Facebook at 12 noon on Monday, which will also mark the launch his policy document.

In the address, the PDP flag bearer will present his vision for Nigeria and his action plan to achieve it as encapsulated in his policy document. The document will promptly be uploaded on his website (www.atiku.org), (www.atikuabubakar2019.org), (letsgetnigeriaworkingagain..com) and (presidentatikuabubakar..com) for all Nigerians to access at no cost, a statement by the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation revealed yesterday.

“The decision of Atiku Abubakar to kick-start his Presidential campaign with the launch of his policy document is to reiterate his commitment to run an issue based campaign.

“The intention is to take our policy directly to Nigerians and to register the belief of Atiku that it will take the collective efforts of every Nigerian to rebuild the country. That is why we want Nigerians to access the policy directly and ultimately take ownership of it.
“Our campaign offers a simple message: united, the people of Nigeria can begin anew, creating a prosperous and secure future and a better life for every Nigerian.

“On the first working day of the campaign, the PDP and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar will put forward his plan to get Nigeria working again.
“We have chosen to do this by having the PDP Presidential candidate speaking directly to the Nigerian people on Facebook. This medium came about as part of the telecommunications revolution that he helped start as Vice President in 1999-2007.

“We have also chosen to have our candidate speak online as it facilitates the ability for anyone to download a copy of his policy document at no cost, as we intend this to be the policy of every Nigerian,” the statement read in part.

Atiku, the statement added, will focus on creating jobs, ensuring security, growing business, developing power and water infrastructure, agriculture and education and how we will empower women.

“Our policies outline the goals and methods for developing and revitalising Nigeria as the foundation of our campaign. “This policy document is being launched to encourage a dialogue with the people of Nigeria, inviting everyone to join us in helping to get Nigeria working again.

“The PDP presidential candidate looks forward to conducting vital discussions as he travels across the length and breadth of Nigeria, meeting and talking with stakeholders: famers, small business people, workers, students, mothers, and children,” the statement continued.

While acknowledging the long route to victory, the campaign organization said it was confident of its chances nonetheless at the polls.

Politics / Press Release: Flag Off Announcement Of The Atiku/obi 2019 Presidential Campaign by celinajumbo11(f): 12:01pm On Nov 18, 2018
https:///2qTMhyI

https://letsgetnigeriaworkingagain..com/2018/11/press-release-flag-off-announcement-of.html

The spokesman for the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organization just a few minutes ago had a facebook live to announce the official commencement of the Atiku/Obi Presidential Campaign.

In his words, he said ''Dear Citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Ours is a land of many hills, networks of crisscrossing rivers, lush green vegetation, and the most spectacular sunset in the world. Yet it is you the Nigerian people who are our great nation’s most beautiful treasure. So great is the value of every Nigerian, that on you alone can the power to determine your leaders, the custodians of the Nigerian will, be fully entrusted''.

The opportunity has come once again for you to determine those individuals who best embody that popular will, to manage your affairs for the term period of Four years. Needless to say, you have been inundated with the disruptive media advertisements and dissonant promotions of conversations, around what ought to be the issues in this campaign.

Kindly accept my sincere apologies that your normal lives and the daily activities of our industrious people may have to endure some more barraging of narratives for a while longer; from political parties and candidates, my humble self, and His Excellency; Atiku Abubakar, inclusive. But I want to say to you, that we have no real alternative.

The fathers and the founders of participative democracy took a leap of faith by insisting that those of voting age within any space have a right and a duty to have a say in who governs them, and how their affairs will be managed. That truly is the foundation of a government of the people, for the people, and by the people; which is the hallmark of our democracy and a grave responsibility that I must charge you to take very seriously.

As the campaigns commence today; I, on behalf of Atiku Abubakar; the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Waziri of Adamawa and the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria, entreat you to come along on a journey wherein I will be speaking about the issues that concern us as a nation.

With automation being predicted to replace an incredible Eight Hundred Million jobs globally by 2030, the issues we need to deliberate upon during these elections should be on how to reinstate for a start, the Eleven million workers who lost their jobs only Four years after we celebrated our emergence as Africa’s largest economy.

While nobody can restore the lives of over Twenty Thousand Nigerian civilians lost to boko-haram alone, or the scores of communities that have been sacked by criminal insurgents in the farmer/herdsmen crises; if we dwell our campaign on issues like reworking the security architectures of the nation, then there is genuine hope for the over Two Million internally displaced citizens of Nigeria, and the Nine Million innocent civilians in urgent need of focused intervention.

When you hear me and every member of the Atiku Presidential campaign insisting on an issue-based campaign, it is because we are insisting on opening up opportunities in the Nigerian economy; we are insisting on creating greater value for our people, and we are insisting on working hand in hand to unite the country and bring it back from the brink of a shamelessly ill-contrived disintegration.

This issue-based campaign that will usher in the transformed Nigeria we all earnestly yearn for by 2019 is about getting Atiku Abubakar, all other leaders you appoint to all the elective positions, and every Nigerian wherever you may be; to get together, roll up our sleeves, and work out how we can put safe spaces over the heads of all Nigerians.

I sometimes ask myself why Atiku Abubakar bothers, and then I recall his humble beginnings in Jada, and where he has reached today. He enjoyed scholarships, both from the native authority and from the Federal Government. He also had the opportunity of serving for Twenty years in the security of a job in which He rose to the level of the Deputy Director of the Nigerian Customs.

Tapping from the opportunities available in private sector and business in Nigeria, He was privileged to have become one of the respected entrepreneurs who have created more opportunities in almost every industry. From education to agriculture; manufacturing to media; logistics to consultancy; and what have you, Atiku Abubakar has made giant strides and left a positive impact, and He owes it all to a principled Nigeria; emerging at the time, on solid democratic foundations.

Also; having had the opportunity to be the heartbeat of the Presidency as Vice President, I often debate with myself on if it would be okay for His Excellency to retire to the querencia of an idyllic family life with his children, from where he could leisurely pursue philanthropy; or if he has the energy within him, the passion and the plan, to transform this country and give our people the opportunity to bound into the Fourth industrial revolution?

This is a revolution which by the way is very inexorable, operosely demanding, and defiantly takes no prisoners… so many of the great nations we admire today will inevitably be left behind in the coming revolution, and the reason why I know he ‘bothers’ to champion the Nigerian cause, is because the inconvenience of electioneering is not a valid enough excuse for him to fetter the transformation that will poise our great nation to maximize the chances of seizing the glorious future for a greater Nigeria.

Atiku Abubakar bothers because he recognizes it as his responsibility to let every Nigerian know that we have a brilliant chance to build a brighter future for ourselves, if given the basic opportunities of a functional Nigeria. He bothers because “Every generation must out of relative obscurity, discover its mission, fulfil it, or betray it”.

As such, I have to reiterate that this campaign must be about the issues. Do not hesitate to ask the questions you wish to have answers to, but let them be the questions that allows us to show you the roadmap to this our noble vision. We must; as a matter of urgency, detoxify the political arena; and with your help, His Excellency plans never to stray from the appropriate narratives and only accommodate the pertinent issues.

I know Atiku Abubakar has been thinking about this for a longer period; and perhaps it will take his rivals a bit more time to see the global advantage in reducing the narrative tensions and divisive politics which Africa has gotten its self locked into. As citizens, Atiku Abubakar bids you to do what is your duty. Your duty is to be peaceful, your duty is to be law abiding, but for the purposes of selection, your duty is to get yourself ready to exercise that sacred franchise that participatory democracy offers you by going out en masse to vote.

As our volunteers, staff, supporters, and the entire Atiku Presidential campaign train moves through the nooks and crannies of the country, I plead with you to welcome them with open arms; they are your friends and neighbours, your colleagues and your kinsmen. Listen to them; provide them with the questions that they may be able to answer, and accept my assurance that we will pass on to Atiku Abubakar, the questions beyond our scope if any. As a fan of the media, you are all witness to His Excellency’s presence in the public spaces of all popular media; this is because the voice of every Nigerian matters to him.

Welcome to the campaign seasons of the 2019 general elections. A platform the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party intends to utilize in showing the entire world that African democracy has indeed come of age. Join us, and together let’s get Nigeria working again.

The Katsina Youth Voice has charged Nigerians of all walks of life to support the party ‘s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 general elections.

The group which stated this in Katsina at the weekend said the former Vice President has sufficient experience to turn around the fortune of the nation bringing about a robust economy if elected.

Speaking to newsmen, Farida said PDP has in its fold candidates for various offices who are capable of bringing transformation across the nation if voted into power.

“We remember how the Obasanjo/Atiku administration engineered economic development, such as the GSM revolution, payment of debts etc.

“We also remember that era witnessed unity as the Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo and minority tribes were fully integrated.

“We urge Nigerians to eschew politics of bitterness as the campaign is set to commence. We declare to Nigerian’s that Atiku Abubakar represents peace,” she said.

The group called on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration to work towards free, fair and credible elections, noting that when the PDP lost power in 2015, it conceded defeat contrary to the expectations in some quarters.

“PDP was magnanimous in defeat and is poised to continue the economic, social and political transformation truncated in the last three years,” she added.

Speaking further, Farida noted that the Katsina Youth Voice have been mobilizing door to door in Katsina, Kaduna, Kebbi, Kano and Sokoto states in readiness for campaign.

She said, the organization is embarking on a one million man March for Atiku in Katsina in the coming weeks. This she said will be done in collaboration with other support groups in Sokoto, Kano, Kebbi, Katsina and Kuduna States.

“Preparations are already in top gear for the event which will feature women groups, youth groups and political stakeholders in the states,” she said.

Politics / 2019 Polls: Igbo Leaders Endorse Atiku/obi PDP Ticket by celinajumbo11(f): 1:20pm On Nov 15, 2018

Prominent Igbo leaders including elders, traditional and religious leaders as well as women groups rose from a one-day meeting in Enugu with an endorsement for the joint presidential ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for the 2019 general election.

Also, the renowned constitutional lawyer, Prof. Ben Nwabueze, not only threw his weight behind the Atiku Abubakar presidential project, but also urged Ngigbo to support the project, insisting that the actualisation of the ticket remains the visible means of political survival for Ndigbo.
He specifically said the Atiku Abubakar project was his last wish “before I join my ancestors”.

In a five-point communique issued at the end of the summit with the theme “Ndigbo 2019 and Beyond”, the leaders said that their position was based on the restructuring agenda put on the table by Atiku/Obi, which four zones of the country had agreed on.
The communique read by a legal luminary Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) said: “The Igbo people of Nigeria held a 1 day non-partisan and inclusive summit convened by elders, traditional and religious leaders on Wednesday 14th November 2018 to consider Ndigbo’s place in the polity especially in light of the forthcoming 2019 elections.

“The summit deliberated on the state of Ndigbo in Nigeria today especially after years of exclusion from the centre. This country has never been so divided as it is today. We Igbos have always yearned for a level playing field with justice, equity and fairness.

“The summit recognised the nomination of His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi former governor of Anambra State as the vice-presidential candidate of the PDP and fully endorses this nomination. It was acknowledged that this nomination puts Ndigbo back in the centre of governance. It is therefore important that Ndigbo should rally behind the Atiku/Obi ticket.

“We identify with the Atiku/Peter Obi ticket on the restructuring agenda as has been reiterated by 4 zones of the country namely: South South, South West, North Central and South East. We believe that as long as the federating units remain weak the centre will continue to be weak. We equally move to appreciate the position of the Atiku/Obi ticket in promoting national unity.

“In conclusion, the summit reiterated that the time is now for Ndigbo to mobilise and organise effectively to realise the Atiku/Obi ticket. We are not campaigning against anybody, we are simply campaigning for our very survival. Igbo votes must count wherever Ndigbo live in Nigeria.”

Earlier, before the meeting christened: ‘Ahamefula, Ndigbo and The Future’ held at Nike Lake Resort, Enugu went into closed door, Prof. Nwabueze said that Igbos should work hard to actualise the Atiku/Obi ticket as a special gift to him, stressing that the best position Igbos should take ahead of the forthcoming presidential election was to stand firmly in support of the candidate that can ensure their survival in Nigeria.

“It is unfortunate that those who pioneered the independence of the country have been totally alienated in their own country and that is why we are here. We have to support the ticket that will ensure our (Igbo) survival. That ticket is the joint ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

“We must not allow this opportunity to slip out of our hands. If we, the Igbo leaders gathered here cannot actualise this ticket, then we should be ashamed of ourselves. We must work hard to achieve this because it is the best way for us to go at this time.

“We are not campaigning for anybody but we are campaigning for our self-survival. We must achieve this joint ticket of Atiku/Obi because it is our desire to do so and we are determined to actualise it. Igbos should do this as their last gift for me,” he said.

Among personalities present at the meeting were Nwabueze, Ambassador George Obiozor, Chief Nnia Nwodo (Ohanaeze Ndigbo President), Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Prof. ABC Nwosu, Senator Chris Anyanwu, Senator Ben Obi, Chief Achike Udenwa, Prof. (Mrs.) Uche Azikiwe, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, Senator Theodore Orji, Chief Emeka Ugwu-Oju, Chief Garry Igariwey, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Ambassador Frank Ogbuewu, Prof. Osita Ogbu, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, Chief Lawrence Nwuruku, Prof. Walter Ofonagoro, Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa, Commodore James Aneke (rtd), Prof. Elochukwu Amucheazi, Prof. Uzodinma Nwala, Senator Adophus Wabara, Air Comdr Allison Madueke, Igwe Afred Achebe, Obi of Onitsha, Prof. Anya O. Anya and Prof. Chudi Uwazurike, Major Gen. Obi Umahi (rtd), Uzodinma Okpara, son of the former Premier Eastern Region, Esom Nwafor Orizu, and daughter of the former acting President of Nigeria and Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has challenged Nigerians on the kind of questions to ask before they turn up to vote in the 2019 general elections.

Atiku, a former vice president, is the candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), the main opposition party, contesting the presidency against President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the February 2019 polls.

Atiku Abubakar took to his Twitter account (@atiku) on Friday, November 9, 2018, to challenge Nigerians to question themselves on if the current administration has improved the nation for the better in the past 4 years of Buhari’s administration. The PDP candidate urged Nigerians to focus on getting the country to work again.

In his tweet, he posted, "The most important question in this election is 'Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?' Are we richer or poorer? This is why our primary focus is on getting Nigeria working again."

As the 2019 polls draws closer, one must understand that Atiku was pivotal to Buhari's electoral victory in 2015. However, he dumped the APC to return to the PDP in 2017 as a result of the ruling APC mismanaging the nation's democracy and disregard for the rule of law.

However Atiku has pledged his commitment to get Nigeria working again by rolling out plans to reposition the country’s economy and making Nigeria regain its high status among the comity of Nations in order to attract foreign direct investments (FDI).

Politics / APC Circulating Fake PDP Campaign Strategy - APCO by celinajumbo11(f): 5:42pm On Nov 13, 2018

https://letsgetnigeriaworkingagain..com/2018/11/beware-of-fake-pdp-campaign-strategy.html

The Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCO) has dismissed as fake a document purportedly detailing the campaign strategy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the election.

The spokesman of APCO, Segun Sowunmi, who said the fake document is the handiwork of the All Progressives Congress (APC), noted that it was reflective of a ruling party that specialises in manufacturing fake documents.

The campaign organisation was reacting to a document circulating online allegedly detailing the campaign strategy of Atiku after his meetings with PDP leaders in Dubai, recently.

The document alleged plans by the PDP and Atiku to disparage the President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, among other things.

Reacting, Sowunmi, who spoke with LEADERSHIP, said the campaign strategy of PDP and Atiku is to unite Nigeria, create jobs, restructure the country and obey the rule of law.

“We find it extremely unfortunate that a party that has now been known for forgery has forged an itinerary that the PDP and Atiku knows nothing about. We want to plead with them that they are the ones that got the documents and manufactured it. For a political party that is in the habit of manufacturing fake results, one is not surprised that they could also come up with a fake list of things that PDP wants to do,” the spokesman said.

He continued, “They might be looking for where we hid our strategy but our strategy is very simple. We are coming to the Nigerian people with an agenda that will liberate them from the lackluster situation that the APC has put us through in the last three years. Therefore Nigerians know we are going to create jobs, open up the economy, unite and secure them and we will be civil about it.

Nigerians also know that we will restructure the country and we are going to be serious about it. Nigerians know we are going to build a consensus about our attitude. Nigerians know that we will obey the rule of law and not lock up people in disregard of the rule of law and court orders.

“Nigerians know that we have a very serious leader that either play with words or bandy words. Our leader is not sensational about leadership he rolls up his sleeves and gets the job done. And Nigerians knows that a vote for Atiku will make their lives a lot more meaningful, let’s get Nigeria working again and forget about the APC and their capacity to come up with all sorts of fake things. I am sure that if you go through the entire gamut of the APC architecture you will find out that most of them have a lot of fake certificates.

Politics / Politics Of Intimidation: How My Plane Was Raided By DSS - ATIKU by celinajumbo11(f): 9:54am On Nov 12, 2018

https://presidentatikuabubakar..com/2018/11/politics-of-intimidation-how-atikus.html

A first hand narrative of how Atiku Abubakar was ransacked at the Airport by men of the DSS.

Former Nigerian vice president and the presidential candidate of the opposition People’s Democratic Party Atiku Abubakar said he and his staff were intimidated “by Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS)” after arriving at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja.
“I arrived to Abuja this morning to a search by agents of the state, aimed at intimidating me and my staff,” Abubakar tweeted on Sunday afternoon.

Abubakar arrived Abuja airport at 1 am Nigerian time from vacation in Dubai.
He, however, did not state which of the “agents of state” searched him and his staff.
Abubakar, formerly a member of the ruling party, is the main challenger against President Muhammadu Buhari in Nigeria’s next general election holding in February.

His campaign to get Nigeria “working again” has resonated with a section of Nigerians who are disenchanted by Buhari’s handling of the economy and allegations of corruption against a few of his aides.

Abubakar’s claim of intimidation will be seen by many in Africa’s most populous as an attempt by the government to cow him.
The alleged intimidation came a few days after the ruling All Progressives Congress called for the probation of his strategy meeting organized with some of PDP leaders in Dubai.

“There is more to the meeting that meets the eye. Nigeria has enough meeting/conference rooms, many of which meet international standards,” the deputy spokesman of APC Yekini Nabena said.
“It is therefore clear that the Dubai meeting was for other sinister political purposes ahead of the 2019 general elections.”
“Our intelligence, anti-graft and security agencies must be awake to its responsibility of investigating the Dubai meeting. Cash-and-carry politicians must be prevented from moving illicit cash around to induce voters and sponsor election violence and rigging.”

However, a former All Progressives Congress spokesman Timi Frank, who also confirmed the harassment of the presidential candidate in a statement on Sunday alleged that the search squad planned to plant “bags of foreign currencies and other implicating things” in Abubakar’s aircraft on arrival in Abuja.

He, however, warned President Muhammadu Buhari to desist from his act of “intimidation” against the PDP presidential candidate.
“Due to information at our disposal, what I have been saying is that the PDP presidential candidate is not safe under this administration because the Buhari’s administration is deploying all manners of devilish strategies to nail all the opposition leaders especially, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,” Frank said.

“We are using this medium to inform the international community to also take note of how Buhari administration is intimidating the opposition presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who has served Nigeria as Vice President for eight years,” he added.

Politics / Amputee Football: NADEF Hails Atiku For Funding by celinajumbo11(f): 2:52pm On Nov 08, 2018
https://presidentatikuabubakar..com/2018/11/amputee-football-nadef-hails-atiku-for.html

The National Disability Empowerment Forum, an umbrella organization of 25 million physically challenged Nigerians, has backed the candidature of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential flag bearer for the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar.

The endorsement was contained in NADEF’s letter of appreciation sent to Atiku in Abuja on Tuesday to thank him for donating N10 million to the nation’s amputee football team, which enabled the squad to represent Nigeria at the Amputee World Cup in Mexico.

“Twenty-five million Nigerians living with disabilities are solidly behind you come 2019,” the forum said in the letter signed by its president, Dr Christopher Nwanoro.
“We pray that the Almighty God will reward you greatly for your heart of gold towards people living with disabilities and humanity in general,” he added.

The group said Atiku’s donation “salvaged the situation, making it possible for the team to participate in the championship.”
Nwanoro, who is blind, said he was a beneficiary of Atiku’s scholarship scheme, which saw him through his postgraduate studies. He described the gesture as “another demonstration of Atiku’s love towards persons living with disabilities.”

On Octocber 22, a day to the commencement of the World Cup, NADEF and Nigeria Amputee Football Federation made a presentation to Atiku seeking his financial support to enable the team travel to Mexico for the championship, a request which the former vice president granted with the donation of N10 million.

NAFF through Fred Edoreh, its World Cup Project Coordinator, had complained that for three consecutive times the team had through self-help attended Africa Amputee Football Nations Cup, qualified for the global series but did not make the trips because of funding gaps.

Edoreh explained that if the team failed to show up at the 2018 edition, which would be the fourth time, the Nigerian side would be suspended from participating in all international competitions, adding that the team would be disillusioned if such situation was allowed.
“It will close the windows of opportunities which the sport offers for the engagement of physically challenged persons in Nigeria,” he said.

Politics / It Is Sad That Two Global Banking Giants Are Leaving Nigeria - Atiku Abubakar by celinajumbo11(f): 3:56pm On Nov 05, 2018
Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar on Saturday said he was very sad that two global banking giants were leaving Nigeria as a result of bad economy.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had announced on Friday that Global banking giant, HSBC and UBS, a Swiss private bank, had closed their representative offices in Nigeria.

Reacting to the development on his twitter page, @atiku, the former vice president said it was always a sad day for the country when such entities packed up.

He said Foreign Direct Investment, FDI was key component to economic growth, saying that his administration would attract more FDI if elected by making the CBN stronger and independent.

Atiku stated that he would banish multiple exchange rates and promote market-led economy.
In his words: “Always a sad day for our country when such entities pack up. FDI is a key component to economic growth. My administration will attract more FDI by making the CBN stronger and independent, banish multiple exchange rates and promote market-led economy.”

The CBN had announced that the banks had closed shops on Friday, revealing that FDI in Nigeria fell to N379.84 billion in the first six months of 2018, compared to N532.63 billion recorded in 2017.

In July, HSBC predicted that a victory for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 would have a negative effect on the economy.
In its response, the presidency asked the bank to return stolen assets allegedly hidden in its coffers.
However, in its projections for the second half of the year, higher oil prices and production would serve as gains but rising foreign debt and uncertainty surrounding the 2019 general election would be a drawback.

The CBN also said three lenders — which were not named — failed to meet their minimum liquidity ratio of 30 percent.

It added that non-performing loans dropped from 15 percent in 2017 to 12.4 percent as of June 2018, adding that this was still a long way above its five percent threshold.

Politics / Atiku Will Reduce Fuel Price - PDP by celinajumbo11(f): 1:40pm On Nov 05, 2018
https://letsgetnigeriaworkingagain..com/2018/11/atiku-will-reduce-fuel-price-pdp.html

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has worked out a pricing template that will immediately crash the pump price of fuel in the country, since the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, in its insensitivity, has failed to do the needful in the last three years.

This is just as the PDP completely rejects the Buhari-led Federal Government’s increase of the official prices of diesel and kerosine, stating that such will bring more economic pressure on the already impoverished nation, as most businesses and homes across the country heavily depend on these products for sustenance.

The party revealed that it has been in high level talks with top international players in the oil and gas industry, adding that its engagements has shown that the appropriate pump price of fuel in the Nigerian market, under the current subsidy regimes of the Buhari Presidency, should be within the borders of N87 to N90 per liter as against the N145 currently being charged.

The PDP said with the current price template of crude oil in the international market, the Buhari administration has no justification to keep the pump price of fuel at N145 per liter and watch Nigerians groan under the weight of high prices, while a cabal at the presidency loot the funds meant to subsidize the product.

The PDP notes that for every N145 paid for a liter of fuel, the Presidency cabal diverts a hidden N58 which Nigerians have continued to pay since the fuel price was increased from N87 to presumably subsidized cost of N145.

Apart from failing to account for the over N1.4 trillion allegedly siphoned through sleazy oil subsidy deals, the Buhari-led Federal Government is burdened to account for the over N3.49 trillion stolen under the hidden N58 per liter of fuel on over 50 million daily domestic consumption estimated in the last three years.

The PDP notes that had the Buhari administration heed wise counsel to be transparent in its dealings in governance and to engage more experienced hands on petroleum issues, the nation would not have been in the dire straits we face today.

The party however urges Nigerians not to despair as its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has already worked out a blueprint that will end sleazes, ensure appropriate pricing template and free resources to guarantee availability of product on a national pricing regime.

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has said that joblessness is a disease his government must cure if elected in 2019.

The former Vice President also said that the symptoms of joblessness are crimes and so, must be tamed by the creation of millions of jobs for the teaming jobless Nigerians.

Abubakar gave the statement during a chat with the number one bestselling author and former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Reno Omokri. The chat was revealed in a tweet by Pastor Omokri.

According to Atiku, only through job creation can his government be adjudged as haven done its job. He said, if they failed to create jobs, then they would have failed at doing their jobs. According to him, “Reno, we must create jobs. Joblessness is a disease and the symptoms are crime and terrorism. The best way to fight the outcomes is by curing the disease. If we do not create jobs, then we have failed at doing our jobs.”

Meanwhile, Pastor Omokri has urged the All Progressives Congress, APC, party to list the jobs that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government has created since inception of office.

Pastor Omokri who listed the Jobs the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, created to include,”from just American University of Nigeria, Faro, Rica Gardo & Standard Microfinance. Atiku created 50k jobs, to mention a few” however challenged the APC to, “list Buhari’s jobs!”

According to him, “@OfficialAPCNg is silly to say @Atiku must list jobs he created. Their focus should be jobs @MBuhari created. Let me humor them. From just American University of Nigeria, Faro, Rica Gardo & Standard Microfinance. Atiku created 50k jobs, to mention a few. APC, list Buhari’s jobs!”

“Cluelessness is when President @MBuhari accuses past administrations of not building infrastructure only for his finance minister to announce the next day that govt is so broke that they are selling national assets built by past governments to fund their 2019 budget #RenosDarts.”

Also taking a swipe at Buhari for criticising the past government of Jonathan, Pastor Omokri tweeted, “@MBuhari is an ingrate for saying Jonathan did nothing for infrastructure. Who built the only federal university in Buhari’s state? Who built the $1.4 billion Abuja-Kaduna railway? Who revived the railways? Who built the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON)? #RenosDarts.”

It is obvious that the APC and its slogan of change has greatly failed the Nigerian populace. It is no longer news that Buhari has nothing to offer. who will then save this country from such calamitous end?
