Fashion / 5 Beauty Habits To Break During Harmattan by centjerry(f): 5:47pm On Dec 29, 2015
Exfoliation and Body Scrub Marathon: It’s true, that scrubbing off dead skin helps clear the way for moisturizers to sink in, hence style and beauty lover’s addiction to it. Unfortunately “less is more” when it comes to exfoliation or body scrubs during harmattan season. Exfoliating more than once weekly during harmattan can damage the skin's protective moisture barrier, which locks in hydration and keeps out irritants.

Using dirty make-up brushes:[/b] It may feel like the last thing you have time for, but washing your make-up brushes, ideally once a week during this season, ensures that you’re not applying dirt and bacteria to your skin with your make-up. First rinse off any residual makeup by holding the bristles under warm, running water, then cleanse with a gentle shampoo and warm water. Rinse again, then lay them flat on a towel to dry.

Drying your skin immediately after bathing. During harmattan, keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized is supreme. One quick way to keep your skin hydrated and yet facilitate the absorption of moisturizers is to let your skin dry on its own after bathing. NO TOWELLING!

Fashion / Fashion: Act Like A God, Dress Like A Boss by centjerry(f): 1:08pm On Nov 11, 2015
Hello, stylish people. I trust Wednesday is treating you well. If not, determine that today is a great day and refuse to be bullied by life circumstances. Most of us have heard the sage words, Act like a lady, think like a man, the book written by Steve Harvey. I have read the book and seen the movie a while back but this money it was fresh on my mind as I got ready to go out and conquer the world literally. Lol
Staring at my closet while pondering the phrase, I was inspired and this ensemble and the above title is the result. Thinking like a lady acting like a man won’t get you through most circumstances or relationship these day. It get the ring on your finger like the book and film purported neither will it help you overcome challenges or emerge victorious from life travails. In my opinion the only way to get achieve this is ACTING LIKE A GOD AND DRESS LIKE A BOSS.
You are probably thinking “ACT LIKE A GOD? Acting like a God doesn’t mean a false sense of superiority, arrogance or acting in a supercilious matter. Rather it means having the mindset of God. Acting in authority, wisdom, love and humility over life circumstance. Taking cognizance of the fact that perception is key, it vital to also dress like a boss...... Fashion / 5 D.I.Y Conditioning Treatments For Natural Hair by centjerry(f): 4:33pm On Sep 14, 2015
The recent Black and proud movement, by blacks of all nations, has taken most black women back to their roots literally. The new fad is all about showing off real hair proudly. The quaint term used to identify the fad is “Natural” as opposed to the former term “Virgin hair” usually followed by a scornful glance. Natural Hair is a type of hair, whose texture hasn't been altered by chemical straighteners, including relaxers and texturizers. Pressed hair may still be considered natural because once washed, the texture returns to its unaltered state. Fashionistas spotted wearing their natural hair in beautiful dynamic styles are now called “Naturalistas”. Classy isn’t it.

Unfortunately growing and showing off your natural hair, can come with a lot of pain and headache literally. Especially if you don’t know how to take good care of yours. Below are five DIYs treatments to condition and grow your natural hair.

Fashion / Life On The Keke Style Lane by centjerry(f): 5:34pm On Aug 20, 2015
Hi darlings. How is Today treating you? Hope nicely. My Tuesday has been very productive, so while having lunch I decided to pen down, for your reading pleasure, how stylish, life on the “Keke Lane” can be.
Most of you already know that I don’t drive, despite having two cars packed in my home begging for some love (Yea I annoy myself sometimes). You must be wondering why an adult in the 21st century don’t drive (Covers face). The answer is: I never have time to devote to leaning how to drive. Very cliché right? (Yea I know). When I was younger I equated driving with more errands so I did everything possible to avoid learning, by the time I realized it was a vital skill, necessary to navigate life with less stress, I was and still is too busy, to find the necessary bloc of time needed.
Hence my proficiency in hailing taxis and jumping Keke, after my favorite mode of swift transportation ‘Okada’ aka “donor cycles” was banned from the roads by the wonderful (Insert in a tiny bitter voice-WICKED!) Lagos state government.

The yellow tricycles known as “Keke” in Nigeria is a great mode of transportation for the budget constrained fashionista, with less drama and .........Read more on http://www.millarefashion.com/2015/07/life-on-keke-style-lane_14.html

Fashion / How To Wear Prints To Work by centjerry(f): 4:37pm On Aug 18, 2015
Hi print lovers! Hope Tuesday is treating you kindly. This is the second outfit, I created from the Jawa print from Vlisco, gifted to me by the AfricanPrintsToday team. (SEE FIRST OUTFIT POST).
This outfit was created for work, I wanted to create an outfit that would strike a perfect balance between edgy and conservative. The asymmetrical trend came to mind so I tweaked a normal long sleeved short dress a little and viola. This outfit is great for work, brunch, date night with le boo, and almost all social gatherings. All you need to make the dress, event or work appropriate, is just a ..........see more on www.millarefashion.com

Fashion / How to Wear the Ripped Jeans Trend by centjerry(f): 1:10pm On Aug 18, 2015
Hi style lover! It been over six years since I wore a pair of jeans, can you believe it! It was a conscious decision I made based by some factors I won’t reveal to you (winks), suffix to say, it was really great to put on a pair after so long.
I was gifted this ragged jean by my friend Chyamaka George. It was a no brainer on how to style, as I instantly felt like ‘turning up’ when I wore it. I paired the jean with a black crop blouse to keep the outfit in the party-girl style train.
What do you think? Fab or Trash?
