Christianity EtcJesus Preached God's Oneness by chakula(op): 4:27pm On May 14, 2010
Jesus Christ, as a true Prophet of God, taught monotheism. When asked, 'What is the first of all commandments', Jesus replied:

", The first of all the Commandments is, Hear O Israel; the Lord our God is One Lord" (Mark 12:29)

"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent" (John 17:3)
Christianity EtcJesus Put Himself Equal To Other Humans by chakula(op): 4:25pm On May 14, 2010
Jesus put himself equal to other humans in the eyes of God.

"My father and your father, my God and your God" (John 20:17)

God does not have a God, But Jesus had a God! Moreover, the gospel writers referred to Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) as the 'son of man' about 85 times in the Gospels, and never once did he explicitly called himself 'God', or 'God the Son', or 'The Begotton Son of God'.
Christianity EtcWhat Did Jesus Say About Himself? by chakula(op): 1:19pm On May 14, 2010
In many places in the Bible, Jesus, referring to himself as a Prophet said:

"A Prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house" (Matthew 13:57),

"Nevertheless I must walk today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a Prophet persists out of Jerusalem". (Luke 13:33).
Christianity EtcWhat About Santa Claus? by chakula(op): 1:17pm On May 14, 2010
If aliens descended on earth during the Christmas season, they would undoubtedly believe Christmas as being Santa's birthday. The words 'Santa Claus', appear nowhere in the Bible.

However, Saint Nicholas (Santa Claus) was a real person, a bishop, who was born 300 years after Jesus. According to legend, he was extremely kind and set out at night to bring presents to the needy. After his death on 6th of Dec., school boys in Europe began celebrating a feast day each year.

Queen Victoria later changed the celebration date from Dec. 6th to Dec. 24th eve.
Christianity EtcWas Jesus Born On Dec. 25? by chakula(op): 1:14pm On May 14, 2010
Neither the date 25th Dec. nor any other date on Jesus' birth is mentioned in the Bible. It was not until the year 530 C.E. that a monk, Dionysus Exigus, fixed the date of Jesus' birth on Dec. 25th. . "He wrongly dated the birth of Christ according to the Roman system (i.e., 754 years after the founding of Rome) as Dec. 25, 753". (Encyclopedia Britannica, 1998 ed.) This date was chosen in keeping with the holidays already indoctrinated into pagans beliefs.

Roman pagans celebrated Dec. 25th as the birth of their 'god' of light, Mithra.

"In the 2nd century A, D., it (Mithraism) was more general in the Roman Empire than Christianity, to which it bore many similarities" (The Concise Columbia Encyclopedia, 1995 ed.

Other pagan 'gods' born on Dec. 25th are: Hercules the son of Zeus (Greeks); Bacchus, 'god' of wine (Romans); Adonis, 'god' of Greeks, and 'god' Freyr of Greek-Roman pagans.
Christianity EtcDoes Christmas Have Biblical Evidence? by chakula(op): 1:12pm On May 14, 2010
The word 'Christmas' does not exist in the Bible. The Bible has closed lips on the entire feast of Christmas, with one exception, the decoration of a tree. The Bible itself criticizes the decoration of the (Christmas) trees:

"The customs of the people are worthless, they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel, they adore it with silver and gold, they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter" (Jeremiah 10-3,4).

European Pre-Christian pagans superstitiously believed that the green trees had special protective powers. In fact the use of the Christmas tree began only in the 17th century in Strasbourg, France and from there it spread to Germany, Britain and then to the U.S. "Tree worship was a common feature of religion among the Teutonic and Scandinavian peoples of northern Europe before their conversion to Christianity…German settlers brought the Christmas tree custom to the American colonies in the 17th century. By the 19th century its use was quite widespread". (Compton's Encyclopedia, 1998 Edition)
Christianity EtcDid Jesus Or His Companions Celebrate Christmas? by chakula(op): 11:15am On May 14, 2010
If Jesus meant his followers to celebrate Christmas, he would have practiced it himself and enjoined it on his followers. There is no mention in the entire Bible that any of his followers ever celebrated Jesus' birthday like Christians do today.

"The church did not observe a festival for the celebration of the event of Christmas until the 4th century" (Grolier's Encyclopedia)

Thus we see that neither the Bible nor Jesus and his companions say anything about the celebration of Christmas which currently involves fanfare, commercialization, and extravagent spending, devoid of any spiritual relevance.

We'll now analyze the real person of Jesus (peace be upon him), in the light of the Bible
Christianity EtcDid Jesus Put On Cross by chakula(op): 11:00am On May 14, 2010
What is the opinion regarding the Jesus was put on Cross ? It seems to me there is some confusion regarding this issue. I would like to know the authentic Christians position on this issue.
Christianity EtcTop 10 Reasons Why Jesus Christ Is Not God by chakula(op): 10:36am On May 14, 2010
They are here in a descending order:
10- God cannot be born.
9- No explicit statement in which Jesus said, “I’m God” or “Worship me”.
8- No one can see God in this life.
7- Jesus never taught the Trinity.
6- God does not sleep, eat, drink, etc. Jesus slept, ate, drank, etc.
5- Jesus does not know everything.
4- Jesus explicitly states that he is not God.
3- The Bible does not call Jesus the son of God alone.
2- God cannot change. He is perfect.
1- God is the essence of the worship. He is the object of worship. Had Jesus been God, he would have told people to worship him. Truly, he did the exact opposite as in Matthew 15:9.

nuclearboy:
[1] Abuzola was young and full of verve. Chakula is in his thirties and full of poo
[2] Abuzola was/is very well liked on NL. Chakula is like a boil in the wrong place or like a bad smell
[3] Abuzola presented his case fairly lucidly. Chakula's english has to be read to be believed. Here's an example "Muslim Proud with their Religion because they were worshiped one God, not unlike the compused ones with many god." from https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=442722.msg6025885#msg6025885. Another favorite of mine is "I pray to Allah Almighty to granted jannatul firdausi to him(umar musa y.) and to all muslim that were died, and also to us which we are waiting for our time ameen." which comes from https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=443344.msg6018206#msg6018206.
[4] Abuzola quoted the Quran freely. Chakula quotes "visions of virgins" (whatever that means) but makes no sense
[5] I would like to see Abuzola back here (at least for the comic effect) Chakula should please leave NL if not go claim his fake virgins
[6] Abuzola seemed to have gone to some form of higher educational institution. Chakula must have spent the first 30 years of his life with an illiterate alfa in the sahara desert

Any other differences, people?
@nuclearboy,
i thanks Allah Almighty with a little knowledge i have, and also to me english is not my mother tongue that is why iam not proud of it and also i will communicate with it any how, because day is coming that i will be able to write and speak the language orderly. thanks  for your observation.
Christianity EtcRe: Paul Believed That Jesus Was Not God by chakula(op): 6:25pm On May 13, 2010
Paul said that God alone is immortal. Immortal means he does not die. Check any dictionary. Now, anyone who believes that Jesus died cannot believe that Jesus is God. Such a belief would contradict what Paul said here. Furthermore, to say that God died is a blasphemy against God. Who would run the world if God died? Paul believed that God does not die.

Paul also said in that passage that God dwells in unapproachable light — that no one has seen God or can see him. Paul knew that many thousands of people had seen Jesus. Yet Paul said that no one has seen God, because Paul was sure that Jesus is not God. This is why Paul went on teaching that Jesus was not God, but that he was the Christ (see Acts 9:22 and 18:5).

When he was in Athens, Paul spoke of God as “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.” (Acts 17:24). Then he identified Jesus as “the man he (i.e. God) has appointed.” (Acts 17:31).

Clearly, for Paul, Jesus was not God, and he would be shocked to see his writings used for proving the opposite of what he believed. Paul even testified in court saying: “I admit that I worship the God of our fathers, ” (Acts 24:14).

He also said that Jesus is the servant of that God, for we read in Acts: “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus.” (Acts 3:13).

For Paul, the Father alone is God. Paul said that there is “one God and Father of all, ” (Ephesians 4:6). Paul said again: “, for us there is but one God, the Father . . . and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, ” (1 Corinthians 8:6).

Christianity EtcRe: Xtians Can Someone Explain (trinity) For Me? by chakula(op): 11:57am On May 13, 2010
Finally the Trinity was forced into Christianity by Emperor Constantine, who in 325 CE called for the first ecumenical council in church history for the purpose of settling the disputes about the nature of God that arose between various Christian sects.

1. Weeks after the council met, comprised of 318 bishops according to Athanasius as he stated in his letter Ad Afros, the doctrine of the Trinity was forced upon Christians as the creed to be followed.

2. Horrific religious persecution followed the decision made by Constantine, essentially a pagan Emperor, to impose an invented creed never preached by Jesus (peace be upon him)

3. Even the most fanatical supporters of Trinity cannot scientifically trace modern-day Trinity any farther back than the second Christian century. Even then, it was an alien creed, never propagated by Jesus (peace be upon him) or by any of his disciples. During that era, Trinity would have competed with other alien theories popular among Christians about the nature of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him).

4. True faith in Jesus (peace be upon him) diminished ever since, until almost disappearing before Islam came.
Christianity EtcRe: Paul Believed That Jesus Was Not God by chakula(op): 11:51am On May 13, 2010
The Bible says that God performed miracles through Jesus & Jesus
was limited in what he could do.
Matt. 9:8 “But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified
God, who had given such authority to men.”
Acts 2:22 “a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and
signs which God performed through Him in your midst.”
Acts 10:38 “…he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed
by the devil, for God was with Him.”
If Christ was God, the Bible would simply say that Jesus did the miracles
himself without making reference to God. The fact that it was God supplying
the power for the miracles shows that God is greater than Jesus.
Also, Jesus was limited in performing miracles. One time when Jesus tried
to heal a blind man, the man was not healed after the first attempt, and
Jesus had to try a second time (Mark 8:22-26). Once a woman was healed
of her incurable bleeding. The woman came up behind him and touched
his cloak, and she was immediately healed. But Jesus had no idea who
touched him:
Mark 5:30 “At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He
turned around in the crowd and asked, ‘Who touched my clothes?’”
4
Mark 6:5 “He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a
few sick people and heal them.”
Quite obviously, someone with such limitations can not be God. The power
of miracles was not within Jesus.
Christianity EtcRe: The Bible Says To Worship Jesus Is Idolat by chakula(op): 11:49am On May 13, 2010
The Bible says that the disciples did not believe Jesus was God.
The Acts of the Apostles in the Bible details the activity of the disciples
over a period of thirty years after Jesus, may God praise him, was raised to
heaven. Throughout this period, they never referred to Jesus as God. For
instance Peter stood up with the eleven disciples and addressed a crowd
saying:
Acts 2:22 “Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited
by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did
among you through him, as you yourselves know.”
For Peter, Jesus was a servant of God (confirmed in Matthew 12:18):
Acts 3:13 “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers,
has glorified his servant Jesus.”
Acts 3:26 “God raised up his servant, ”
When faced by opposition from the authorities, Peter said:
Acts 5:29-30 “We must obey God rather than men! The God of our fathers
raised Jesus, ”
The disciples prayed to God just as they were commanded by Jesus in
Luke 11:2, and considered Jesus to be God’s servant,
Acts 4:24 “, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. ‘Sovereign
Lord,’ they said, ‘you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything
in them.’”
Acts 4:27 “, your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.”
Acts 4:30 “…of Your holy servant Jesus.”
This is exactly what the Quran states of Jesus:
Quran 19: 30 “…I am indeed a servant of God.”
Christianity EtcRe: Xtians Can Someone Explain (trinity) For Me? by chakula(op): 11:43am On May 13, 2010
The Columbia Encyclopedia: “Trinity … the doctrine is not explicitly taught in the New Testament.” 3

The New Catholic Encyclopedia: “The formula [one God in three Persons] itself does not reflect the immediate consciousness of the period of origins; it was the product of 3 centuries of doctrinal development … The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.” 4

The Trinity Is Not A Biblical Belief
‘Wa shahida shahidun min ahliha’
“And a witness of Her Own Household Bore Witness”

…Major western encyclopedias and dictionaries, written in the Christian West, by mainly Western Christians, admit to these facts:

The New Encyclopedia Britannica: “Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deuteronomy 6:4). …The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. …It was not until the 4th century that the distinctness of the three and their unity were brought together in a single orthodox doctrine of one essence and three persons. …By the end of the 4th century … the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.” 1

The Encyclopedia Americana: “Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching.” 2
