You can create multiple EOIs. For you to get 489 sponsorship from Regional Nsw, you need to apply to the particular region you are interested in. This involves an application fee. It's only when the region agrees to support/sponsor you that you would get Nsw 489 invitation.

At the moment, I guess it's only Nsw Far South Coast that has Mech Engineering on their list. They require 2 years experience and their nomination program is currently suspended.

Just like others have said, try other states. You would need to apply to them first and some of them have application fees.

Thanks Ideamaster for your concern and response.

Waiting for family sponsored 489 is a long thing. The least point in the last draw was 80 and only less than 10 applicants got ITA.

Each state has its nomination process. SA still has the shortest timeline (currently 6 weeks) and nomination cannot be expedited.

Thanks Tunlex01. Your concern is highly regarded and I wish you the best

1. I am not completely sure but I know you can tick all subclass and options you are interested in while filling the EOI.

2. Each region has its own process and requirements, it will be appropriate to first check the website of your region of interest to understand their process.

Northern Territory, Tasmania and Victoria sponsor Mechanical engineering. It is on special conditions in South Australia. Apply to all the states, don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Cheers

Dear Bellong,

Thanks a lot for the information.

I will explore these regions.

@ChampXC,

[color=#550000]1. Your sponsor family cannot do anything to expedite the process apart from the nomination. This is where a state regional sponsor is better.

2. According to the Migration Regulations 1994 (amended) from July 1, 2014, a skills assessment is valid for three years from the date of issue except a shorter period is indicated on the assessment.

I think you should chase a 489 from any region as November 2019 is almost here.

Thanks a lot Bellong.
I feel very pleased and recognized by your delightful response. Please keep it up as you put hope on many colleagues in this forum and readers.

I did EOI on regional 489 at NSW and waited for 11 months without invitation. I later withdrew it and re-submitted the EOI in January, 2019 at same NSW on family sponsor immediately my cousin was given a PR.
1. Can I do additional EOI on regional 489 without withdrawing the EOI on family sponsor?
2. Can I request the selected region via communication before or after the submission of EOI to expedite my nomination?
Please assist with your kind response and counsel once more as I don't want to give up at this time. I welcome any region in any State that you could suggest to me.

Regards

Dear team,

I commend the posts and responses of the members of this forum. They have helped many indeed.
I submitted EOI on 489 (family sponsor) at NSW in January but yet to receive an invite.
I have bachelor and masters in Mechanical Engineering with an overall score of 65 points. My questions are:
1. Can my sponsor assist in anyway in order to receive a faster invitation to apply for visa?
2. How long does a positive assessment last? I got mine in November, 2016.
Moreover, I welcome any advice as I will be willing to withdraw the earlier EOI and choose any region in any state if need be.

Regards.
