Bigbabyy0: I have done paid calls and they kept saying processing Nothing else Already 34WDs I know how stressful this is, but it’s pretty common. Sometimes UKVI’s system doesn’t sync with the visa application centre, so the phone agents might still see “processing” even though a decision has already been made. Human error and backlogs can also delay the email notifications bcs January is a peak period . so they can show up weeks later. A friend of mine got his visa, but the approval email didn’t arrive until two weeks after the decision was actually made, and the passport was already back. . You applied since dec 4th and the delay is unusual with no decision or request for additional document..the normal timeframe for a student visa should be 3 weeks and at worst case 6 weeks. Yours is more than 6 weeks so it’s concerning. Alternatively, you could also contact your school’s visa and international students team and ask them to escalate the case . Schools often have direct contact with Ukvi and can push things faster than individual applicants. |

Bigbabyy0: Omo I got this since 23rd Dec oo No extra documents..no interview Nothing nothing What if you’ve actually gotten your visa and maybe you’re yet to receive a mail. It happens a lot. You could create a ukvi account and input your passport number to confirm your status. |

Kmmk792: Honestly I don give up.
I no fit make am for the latest date 9th February.
On top of plenty paid mails and calls. Same feedback " I can confirm that your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision."
:- I believe you can make it before your deadline on February 9th. Your bio was on December 30th. Just be patient. You’d get it. On the other hand, try to email your school so they could be informed about the delay in your visa issuance and if there’s a way they could provide an extension. A lot of people are in this situation including me and it’s not your fault. Like I said earlier, you’d possibly get your visa before 9th of February. |

Just pray and hope ukvi could prioritize students application hence most schools have resumed and enrollment deadline for some schools are fast approaching. |

Adamatium199: I was really not going to say anything but the rate at which people who are less informed will just come here and spill their opinions as a partial fact to make themselves or other people feel better about their applications is alarming. Truth is nobody knows how anything works and it is all conjecture and speculations. So please let us all refrain from projecting our opinion as partial fact. Let us all pray and hope for the best. I get where you’re coming from. this whole waiting game turns everyone into a bit of a detective, and it’s easy to slip into speculation. You’re right, nobody’s got the full inside scoop, and throwing half‑baked theories around can just add more noise. Honestly, I’ve noticed a lot of us start guessing when the silence drags on, but the truth is we’re all just in the dark. Let’s try to keep the conversation supportive and stick to what we actually know (or can verify). Wishing everyone and myself a smooth resolution soon. 🙏 |

codegirl: all the people going for computer science related course, did they put us inside one batch? No one in my group has gotten I did my biometrics on December 30th, got a processing mail on the 5th. Until today it’s total silence. Likewise my friend. So it’s possible we all were placed in the same batch. The wait is tiring but let’s keep hoping. |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by Charlex23(m): 10:17pm On Jan 15 |
For most november/December applicants who are yet to get a decision, it appears that the UKVI processes cases in batches. Some applicants whose biometrics were taken later might have been lucky to be placed in a batch that is moving faster, which is why they are receiving decisions more quickly.
Applications are likely still in a batch being handled by a case officer who may be on leave or dealing with a heavy backlog. This explains the lack of NSF, request for additional documents, or any processing update so far and total silence. It’s not a reflection on the strength of our applications just the normal flow of the batch system. |

Altern8tor: Father Lord have mercy... But another reason they could ask for source of funds could be short year gap,,like someone graduated BSc 2 years ago,,now going for Master in UK,,they will not hesitate to ask for source of funds... There must be a reason why,,its not just random UKVI’s decision‑making is a mix of risk‑scoring, the officer’s gut, and what docs you actually hand in. If the paperwork looks tight—clear proof of funds, a solid employment/ study record, a good‑looking CAS—they’ll often just push the visa through. A 2‑year gap only raises a flag if something looks off or if the officer decides to dig deeper. Sometimes they just pick a few cases for extra checks, sometimes they don’t. So it’s not that they’re being unfair. it’s just based on luck and how clean your file looks. |

Oyetunde49: Good morning, I will like to ask , can I apply for my student visa with my statement of result and transcript? , my certificate is not ready( till my school’s convocation which isn’t close). Can I have any issues because of this ? Some schools gave me conditional offer with it while I have gotten an unconditional offer from one. Please your advice would be needed. Was the school able to issue you the CAS? I was in the same situation as you. Your school could send an official email explaining the reason for the delay with a stamp and registrar’s signature. Just to facilitate the process. I think that would suffice |

Showkey1313: Please when denied a student visa for this September intake because of an interview, is it compulsory when reapplying to another school to let them know you have been denied before or it’s not necessary and there is no way the school can know that , I think it's best to be honest if they ask, but if they don't ask, no need to volunteer the info. Schools can access UKVI's database anyway, so it's not like it's a secret. Just be ready to explain what went wrong and how you've fixed it, in case they ask. What was the reason for the visa denial if I may ask? |

OdogwuEkeke: Hello Nairalanders,
I hope everyone is doing well.
I've been surprised to see many people still considering the UK study route. While it's ultimately your decision, I want to share a few things that agents and universities might not tell you.
First, many UK universities are facing financial difficulties as international students reconsider the UK. For instance, the University of Derby is running a £40 million deficit and laying off over 200 staff. This instability can affect your experience.
Second, the stress here is different from what we're used to in Nigeria. You will work hard for every penny, and without serious discipline, saving will be a major challenge. The pressure is real—I've sadly lost two friends to stress-related issues here. If you do come, please make your health a priority.
Furthermore, immigration rules are constantly changing. There are talks of reducing the post-study work visa to 18 months. Ask yourself: Do you have enough transferable skills to secure a sponsored job in that tight window? Moving abroad is a marathon, not a sprint. The journey doesn't end with getting a visa or boarding the plane. How will you manage repayments when you're limited to 20 hours of work per week? The truth is, 20 hours is rarely enough, and it will be tough.
If you were my younger sibling, I would not advise you to come to the UK. I would instead suggest Europe, where you're almost certain to get a passport within five years. The only catch is learning a language—which is a valuable skill for your resume.
Enough of my rant. Here’s what I suggest:
Option A: Focus on Other Countries Consider countries like Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, or New Zealand. After five years of work, you can typically get a passport. You'll also have access to the entire Schengen area. It’s often cheaper than the UK, and the path to citizenship is more certain.
Option B: You Really Want to Be in the UK
While sourcing school fees, also save for a car. Get an international driver's license before you arrive, and obtain a full UK license as soon as you can. It is more valuable than your masters, e get why
Get an SIA license- it will help you find flexible, cash-in-hand security jobs.
Focus on in-demand sectors that offer sponsorship, such as HGV (truck) driving or healthcare. Don’t waste time on a degree that won’t help you survive.
Option C: You Just Want a UK Degree
Apply for scholarships that cover everything, including your flight. You can use your time in the UK to activate plans for Canada or any other place, then return to Nigeria after your Master's and prepare for the move.
Consider a Unicaf scholarship to earn a UK Master's from Nigeria. Travel only for graduation, and use that degree to apply for a PhD in a country that offers a clearer path to residency.
Think carefully and plan wisely. All the best. Please are you currently in the Uk? If yes, please I’d love to discuss with you on what’s app |

Tolezy001: Goodevening all. Pls I am for Jan 2026 intake.Mba.My sch asked for a minimum of 28days pof and TB test before issuing me CAS.i intend starting the POF tomorrow 6th nov.which will be maturing by first week of December.
(1)Pls do I have to run it for another 28days for visa application?
(2)Pls, will I meet up with the time frame ? Pls I need your experienced advice B4 I make any mistakes.
(3)Pls can I use UBA for POF? I’m also running my POF today Going to the Uk in January for MSc too. There’s nothing wrong with UBA, although, it’s quite complex but manageable. If you begin the Pof process today which is 6th of Nov, at most by 4th of December, you could apply for your visa and you don’t need an additional 28 days. Best of luck |

Emmanuelowems: It’s obvious that people mainly applied for an Mres course because of the option that allows you to take your dependants, now it’s becoming complex because it takes more time to get an Mres offer compared to getting a normal MSc offer so it’s advisable to plan for both so you don’t miss out totally except your priority is to take your dependants along I appreciate the feedback. Thank you |
