Bigbabyy0:Majority are yet to apply for September intake. By June/July there should be a surge in student application. Have you applied yet? |
Sunshinelikeme:I was able to do a paid enquiry last week Friday and the case has now been officially escalated. Thanks for your input. |
Bigbabyy0:That was fast. Someone made the payment on my behalf using a dollar card, so I don’t know if an email notification would be sent to me once my ihs has been refunded |
Bigbabyy0:Hello, pls have you been refunded your ihs fee |
Hello guys, pls how long does ihs refund take after successfully withdrawing a visa application. I withdrew my application since February 20th but I’m yet to get a refund . This is currently my 7th week . Anyone in a similar situation? |
Bigbabyy0:What’s up. Congrats on your offer this time. At least you’d be able to apply for your visa on time. Pls I wanted to confirm if you’ve been able to get your IHS refund? |
Bigbabyy0:How long does the refund for ihs take and have you been refunded? |
Bigbabyy0:I hope you get a positive response either today or tomorrow . You’ve waited too long for this |
Ratuk:In as much as a decision wasn’t finalized in my application, then visa fee would be refunded. My friend got a refund for his visa earlier this week after canceling his application a few weeks ago |
I’ve successfully withdrawn my application. An unsuccessful 2 months wait. E go better. |
Peterrock2025:At this point super priority is worth considering. Imagine applying twice and still being stuck. |
FolashadeF:Totally get where you're coming from . CAS timing is a big deal, and it's frustrating when schools drag their feet on that. Given your situation, I'd say it's worth having a chat with your school about their CAS plan. Explain that you're applying for biometrics early, but you need that CAS on time to make the visa application solid. Since you've been deferred twice already (Sept to Jan, and now potentially to Sept again), they need to give you some solid assurances. If they can't give you a straight answer, might be worth exploring other options or getting more clarity on their end. You wouldn’t want to be stuck in a limbo again . |
FolashadeF:I’m in the same situation as you. I did my bio on December 30th.I’m fully aware how challenging the process has been. What I’d advise you to do is to apply for priority this time, that’s if your cas is issued late. Just to be on the safer side |
It’s getting to the point where I’d really have to advise anyone still awaiting for their visa to withdraw their application and defer till September. But this time try to apply very early. Maybe around may/early June to avoid the late rush. |
At this point everyone is really nervous considering the fact that enrollment deadline for most schools are fast approaching . Waking up each day and looking foward to 5pm-6pm if you’d be lucky to get an approval mail. The wait haven’t been easy. What will be would surely be. Wishing everyone the best of luck. |
Munchy22:Don’t even understand anymore |
Please any visa approval today? |
LogikalJay:Congrats on your visa approval. Pls when was your biometrics? |
Sakuzi:missing the interview will likely lead to a refusal on this application, which could affect future applications a bit. It’s better to officially withdraw the current application instead of just skipping the interview — that way, there’s no refusal on record, which looks cleaner for the next application in May. Your brother should contact UKVI to request a withdrawal, and also check with the university about deferring the start date to a later intake (May or September). Reapplying for the next intake is fine, but make sure to include all the required documents and the new CAS. |
Please has anyone gotten an approval mail today? |
Reeeeee:What’s up Reeee, have you gotten your visa yet? |
Bigbabyy0:I know how stressful this is, but it’s pretty common. Sometimes UKVI’s system doesn’t sync with the visa application centre, so the phone agents might still see “processing” even though a decision has already been made. Human error and backlogs can also delay the email notifications bcs January is a peak period . so they can show up weeks later. A friend of mine got his visa, but the approval email didn’t arrive until two weeks after the decision was actually made, and the passport was already back. . You applied since dec 4th and the delay is unusual with no decision or request for additional document..the normal timeframe for a student visa should be 3 weeks and at worst case 6 weeks. Yours is more than 6 weeks so it’s concerning. Alternatively, you could also contact your school’s visa and international students team and ask them to escalate the case . Schools often have direct contact with Ukvi and can push things faster than individual applicants. |
Bigbabyy0:What if you’ve actually gotten your visa and maybe you’re yet to receive a mail. It happens a lot. You could create a ukvi account and input your passport number to confirm your status. |
codegirl:Pls when did they receive the delay mail and what date was their biometrics |
Kmmk792:I believe you can make it before your deadline on February 9th. Your bio was on December 30th. Just be patient. You’d get it. On the other hand, try to email your school so they could be informed about the delay in your visa issuance and if there’s a way they could provide an extension. A lot of people are in this situation including me and it’s not your fault. Like I said earlier, you’d possibly get your visa before 9th of February. |
codegirl:I got a non complex SLA mail on Monday. I presume you got yours on Tuesday right? |
Any approval mail yet? |
padua1234:You’d need to wait. Processing times can vary and yours might not take up to 17 working days. Just pray and hope ukvi could prioritize students application hence most schools have resumed and enrollment deadline for some schools are fast approaching. |
Bigbabyy0:Your visa should be out tomorrow. Bcs most people are getting visa approval on the 17th working day after the SLA mail. |
Adamatium199:I get where you’re coming from. this whole waiting game turns everyone into a bit of a detective, and it’s easy to slip into speculation. You’re right, nobody’s got the full inside scoop, and throwing half‑baked theories around can just add more noise. Honestly, I’ve noticed a lot of us start guessing when the silence drags on, but the truth is we’re all just in the dark. Let’s try to keep the conversation supportive and stick to what we actually know (or can verify). Wishing everyone and myself a smooth resolution soon. 🙏 |
codegirl:I did my biometrics on December 30th, got a processing mail on the 5th. Until today it’s total silence. Likewise my friend. So it’s possible we all were placed in the same batch. The wait is tiring but let’s keep hoping. |
For most november/December applicants who are yet to get a decision, it appears that the UKVI processes cases in batches. Some applicants whose biometrics were taken later might have been lucky to be placed in a batch that is moving faster, which is why they are receiving decisions more quickly. Applications are likely still in a batch being handled by a case officer who may be on leave or dealing with a heavy backlog. This explains the lack of NSF, request for additional documents, or any processing update so far and total silence. It’s not a reflection on the strength of our applications just the normal flow of the batch system. |
