Since it is not up to a year , you can try using the recommend oil. Keep an eye on it to make sure the engine does not short oil .. After 5k miles and no oil shorten than you are good to go

Keep in mind a 2002 engine regardless if it is tokunbo or not, is old old engine.. If you are lucky to get a rebuild tokunbo engine than you are lucky that oil shorten will not occur

It will not damage the engine, but it will more than likely cause your engine to short oil ..... My best advice is no need to switch... From experience a lot of Nigeria do not use the correct engine oil in their car .. By the time for them to switch to factory recommended oil , it is too late..

On your next tokunbo car make sure you follow factory recommended oil ......

the engine was just changed and it's not up to a year. Any suggestions on that.

Filter or oil ..... I usually advice people to use Imported oil on newer cars and tokunbo cars .. Nissan 2002 would have been more than likely been abused from bad oil or wrong use of oil ... so I would advice to continue using whatever oil u have been using

would changing the oil to the one recommended damage the engine.

From my little experience from 98 altima I will suggest you unplug the air flow meter socket and start the car, if it starts then u know it's the metres fault. If it's rough idling the culprit is the intake manifold you will need to put new gasket.
