Buying a first car in Nigeria is an exciting milestone, but navigating the local auto market—with its mix of foreign-used ("Tokunbo", Nigerian-used, salvage imports, and paperwork pitfalls can easily turn a dream ride into an expensive money pit.

Know this rule of thumb: 95% of cars sold as Tokunbo are already refurbished Nigerian-used cars. Seeing their pictures snapped in Korea or China doesn't mean it was imported. It's for photo ops.

1. Spending 100% of the Budget on the Purchase Price

If the air conditioning is blowing warm air, never take the seller’s word that it only requires a gas top-up. A non-functional AC in the Nigerian climate usually points to a dead compressor, leaking evaporator coil, or ruined condenser—all of which cost significantly more than a simple recharge.

13. Taking an Insufficient Test Drive
A three-minute cruise on a smooth paved road inside an estate reveals very little. Test the car across various driving conditions: engage reverse, drive over slight bumps to listen for suspension clunks, accelerate onto an open stretch to check gear shifts, and sit in idle traffic with the AC on full blast to check for engine overheating. It's been hectic so far and returning a lot of errors because my native structure is topic and post but I want the timeline to be direct posts without the topic headers.. emulating the normal modern timelines... 24hrs option, pinning a place, vibes, voicenotes, etc.

Was syncing a lot of foreign tags. Since I am basically focusing on Nigeria, I made edits to filter mostly Nigerian trending topics. Also afford an international option.

Gaming
Make experience cleaner and easy for all ports esp the Snooker. Was very hectic and took three days to fix.

Yeah I think you are right on the featured posts count. However, overtime on my scrutiny of visitors, I realised a lot of visitors only sweep through the featured posts for daily News and etc. While some subscribes to Nigerian States peculiar to them. So I think making the default 20 is ok with good pagination but also making it user-side to decide how many they want to see on their device (15, 20, 30, 40) on their user preference setting.

I have two others already managing it with me. Also, I built my auto-moderation system to be smart, active 24/7, disciplined, and Nigerian. Yes, very Nigerian.

I delegated most of the big works to it; the sorting process, the delivery of latest content per states, per country, per board, every part that really doesn't require human presence since that's where the most work lies so that human moderators do more of reviews.

Since I built the auto-moderation myself, I am confident in its delivery..even tho we are still testing and upgrading it with time as the forum grows.

For example, the tool is strong against slurs, tribalism, scams, spams, etc., with an ultra modern flagging system (it is a new concept I built where you really don't have to get banned but your post or comment wouldn't just be seen but blurred until you fix it. Also, there is a 'community reporting' so that the majority (never false positives) flag posts too. It doesn't mean a banning system doesn't exist. It does and repeated offenders undergo punitive measures until it leads to a ban..or a period break of readjusting and promising not to repeat the same process that led to the ban or getting a permanent ban.

I think it's a sense of responsibility being added so that when User A thinks of the stress in writing a tribal post and realises it wouldn't be seen and the ragebait useless, they'd be forced to be decent). Or a scammer coding his text in Nigerian text tricks and realising the system still understands no matter the format used. It's a long-term project where I am focusing on users who want a serene environment and a place they can control their space.

Yes, it's still in the infant stage but I also didn't know it would be growing this fast. For sth I built as a hobby, I am very impressed.

Are these already active or still being tested? Once people can keep and transfer money, a single incorrect balance update or a delayed withdrawal can create a serious trust problem. The wallet should have a proper transaction history, and users’ money should remain separate from the platform’s operating funds.

Also, your idea of automatic flagging makes sense for posts, but I would not let it automatically block wallets. Any financial restriction should go through a human review with a clear appeal option imho
