Nairaland / General / Think About This! by chatwithjide(m): 1:57pm On Nov 26, 2014 |
CHRISTIAN CHRISTIANITY! It is possible to be a member of RCCG but not redeemed. You can be a member of WINNERS but have not won a single soul for Christ. MFM member but lacks fire. DEEPER LIFE convert but very shallow a christian. CHRIST EMBASSY follower but not ambassador of Christ. SHEPHERD'S FLOCK member but still a goat in His flock. A FOURSQUARE GOSPEL CHURCH faithful, but never take the gospel beyond the four-wall of your room, talkless of carry your cross. APOSTOLIC FAITH without faith in God. CAC brethren, yet there is no Christ behaviour in you. CHAPEL of GRACE and yet still remain a struggler for years. On and on like that... It is obvious that quite a number of us needs to go for spiritual clinic. Painfully as it is, we never practice what we profess and the faith we belongs to. We are just denominational Christians without relationship with God. Little wonder we even strive and discriminate against ourselves. Let's not be a fool. It is not the name of your church that qualifies you to be a Christian. Christianity is Christ-like life and not a religion. Think about this! |

The choice is yours! Watch your thoughts; they become words, watch your words; they become actions, watch your actions; they become habits, watch your habits; they become character, watch your character; it becomes your destiny. If you can change your thought, you can change your destiny and personality. When you are prepared, when opportunities comes you can take it with ease because, it is all about you. |

L a g o s g o v t , F e d e r a l T a s k F o r c e c l a s h o v e r a u t h o r i t y By Clifford Ejenavi Date Published 10/11/2014 The National Coordinator, Sure-P/FERMA Federal Task Force, Alh. Abdulrazak Rafiu, popularly known as ‘Otto’, has lambasted the Lagos State government over what he described as monopoly, selfish and impostor governance by the state who in a press release recently labeled the Federal Task Force illegal after they were deployed on the federal roads across the state to perform their duties. Infuriated by the Lagos State government’s press release, Rafiu in a statement signed by the National Director of Publicity of the Federal Taskforce, Mr. Olawale Oyeboh and were made available to Nigerian NewsDirect, said, “If we are illegal, then why did the federal government not stop our operations or activities since we have been recruiting. Let’s look at it from this perspective; is it possible for a group of people without the federal government’s approval to name themselves Federal Task Force in a country where we have the Judiciary, the SSS, the Police and all other security operatives? “We are all aware that through this empower-ment programme, subsidy re-investment and empowerment programme established by President Jonathan, is to create employment for all Nigerian citizens in the state.” Rafiu further reiterated that there has been several requests by Lagos residents, road users and various road transport unions including the Okada riders anticipating that the Federal Task Force should resume operation on federal roads in Lagos. According to him, most Lagosians said they can no longer bear the extortionist ways, attitude and system of the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA ) officials, reminding the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunda Fashola of the 2004 court ruling that the state transport management authority jurisdiction doesn’t permit them to operate on the federal roads in the state. “The Federal Task Force has nothing against the LASTMA officers but we are only reminding them to remain on their state roads. As we all know, they are known as the Lagos State Transport Management Authority and should allow the Federal Task Force perform their civil right and duties in a bid to manage and maintain traffic across Lagos Federal roads and to also recover for the Federal Government the proper-ties that have been stolen and manipulated by the state government and any individuals including the Fashola led government and his political godfather to the hand over to the federal government.” The Federal Taskforce boss also stated, “How can trained and educated graduates seeking jobs be used by any political group or party to cause confusion? Many of these Federal Task Force recruited officers are intellectuals, reliable youths and adults looking for means of livelihood. They appreciate this empowerment programme initiated by Mr. President as a yardstick of creating employment opportunities. “So, why should the Lagos State Governor stand boldly and call your wife, your father or my father and our future leaders, who are seeking for this job, political thugs? If someone called his daughter or son a thug, how do you think he (Governor Fashola) will feel? In this regard, I appeal to all Lagos residents and parents to reject and send back to sender this very costly and expensive statement made by our so called Lagos State Governor. Patience is said to be a very good tool. So, my advice to all my Federal Task Force officers and the general populace would be let’s exercise a little patience with President Jonathan as plans to deploy Federal Taskforce officers on the federal roads in Lagos are perfectly in place in the next few weeks. Mr. President is providing for the Federal Task Force all required support from the Nigeria police, the State Security Service (SSS), the civil defense and all other security agencies to work with us.” Rafiu therefore warned that though they did not have any problem with the Lagos State government but any attempt by any group or individuals to interrupt the operations of the Federal Taskforce officers should be ready to face the wrath of the |

Nairaland / General / We Must Change! by chatwithjide(m): 12:23pm On Sep 30, 2014 |
WHY DO WE KILL OURSELVES FOR NOTHING!!!!!!! A House of Assembly Member in his first year receives N100Million for constituency project. In the second year, he receives another N100Million. In his third year, he receives another N100Million. In the fourth year, another N100Million. He has officially received N400Million on your behalf! This is outside the numerous kickbacks and loots he has received from projects he had influenced into the state budget for this period. Five months to the end of his tenure, he calls for an 'empowerment' programme. He buys 50 okadas, 20 keke Napeps, 5 Sienna cars, 30 sewing machines, 30 I-pass-my-neighbour generators, and gives 10k to over 20 persons. All these things are shared to only his party faithfuls despite the fact that the money belongs to all irrespective of party affiliation. Also, he mentions a number of schools he has renovated, a number of desk he has donated to numerous primary schools and other 'petty' constructions which is not more than N20Million. All these he has done within his four year tenure. Also, he distributes half a million Naira to party excos who automatically endorse him for a second term! The following week, the jobless youth (Graduate Agberos) and miserable village women who have benefited from the empowerment are sponsored to come out with placards to beg the legislator to run for a second term. He considers their demand, and accepts it as a sign of his excellent previous performance. He gives them money for transportation through a proxy and the next week he declares for his second term ambition. Now if you calculate all that he has done, you will see that out of the N400Million he has collected on your behalf for four years, he has barely spent 15% of it on you. You should even be thankful that he has intention of running for a second term, or else, you wouldn’t even have seen a bicycle. Why should he empower you when he does not need you again. Whatever happens to the rest 85% or even more of the money this legislator has received on your behalf is not your business. After all, you did not buy his party nomination form for him while he was contesting, neither did you contribute to his campaign in anyway. So why do you think you can reap from where you did not sow? Many Nigerian electorates are stupid people. How can a lawmaker or Governor buy an okada for you and you accept it as empowerment in this modern age. Tell me, are you not stupid? Can you feed your family with an okada? Can’t you see he is giving you death? Funny enough, this practice is going on in the 774 Local Governments in Nigeria, annually. Don't you think that, Nigerian electorates especially the youth that should put a stop to all this madness are stupid and gullible?! "Quote me anywhere". Sorry for the harsh words (just expressing my Feelings). WE JUST NEED TO CHANGE OUR ATTITUDE TO THINGS OF NATIONAL INTEREST IF, OF A TRUTH, WE ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN CHANGE IN THIS COUNTRY. CHANGE!!!!!!...... |

what message are we passing to the next generation about life? Are we saying that the only way they can be famous and wealthy is through entertainment industry and not education? everything now is all about singing and dancing that all! with all this big organization sponsoring this programs (MTN, maltina, Etisalat, etc) and neglecting educational ones, am watching maltina dance hall where a five years old boy won because, he danced so well but, wouldn't express himself to thank them and we are complaining about the mass failure in WAEC and other examination where over one million candidates fails! are we not the ones encouraging them that entertainment (dancing and singing) pays that education? Just reflecting on critical societal issues Noni! |
