Nairaland / General / You Must Buy A Car This Year. by chatwithjide(m): 5:52pm On Jan 02, 2016
My friends on Nairaland, I think one of the things you must buy this year is a car because, that was the bone of contention between Davido and Sophia Momodu, then Olamide and Don Jazzy. So that I will not read on Twitter that you are fighting with your close friends latter in the year. From Babajide Adeoye (A Pragmatic Philosopher)

Two Female Dead Bodies discovered on Alhaji Andu Street, via Oshikoya Street in Anibaba, Ikorodu today 15/12/2015 few weeks after 5 Female Dead Bodies were found very close in the area.
Sources said they were dumped in the area probably last night, because the bodies were still fresh. While other sources revealed that the Girls were into Prostitution, as Condoms, Make-Over Boxes, Under wears and some hard drugs were also found in their bags.
As you know that we cannot upload their pictures right here, but we need to let you be aware of the situation, so you can be vigilant and careful and report any kind of supicious move from anyone to the nearby Police Station or the Vigilante Group of Ikorody(Onyabo)... The Igbogbo Police Department have taken the corpses out of the scene, and everyone has gone back to their various businesses.
But now, serious questions needs to be asked. Investigations need to be done. May Almighty God guide and protect us all.

Nairaland / General / Who Is Happy??? by chatwithjide(m): 11:09am On Sep 26, 2015
Who is Happy
A Crow Lived in the Forest and was absolutely satisfied in life.
But one day he saw a Swan...
This Swan is so white and I am so black..Crow thought.
This Swan must be the happiest bird in the world.
He expressed his thoughts to the Swan.
Actually, the Swan replied,
"I was feeling that I was the happiest bird around until I saw a Parrot, which has two colors.
I now think the Parrot is the happiest bird in creation."
The Crow then approached the Parrot
The Parrot explained,
"I lived a very happy life—until I saw a Peacock. I have only two colors, but the Peacock has multiple colors."
The Crow then visited a Peacock in the zoo and saw that hundreds of people had gathered to see him.
After the people had left,
The Crow approached the Peacock..
Dear Peacock,
You are so beautiful.
Every day thousands of people come to see you.
When people see me,
they immediately shove me away.
I think you are the happiest bird on the planet.
The Peacock replied,
I always thought that I was the most beautiful and happy bird on the planet.
But because of my beauty,
I am entrapped in this zoo.
I have examined the zoo very carefully, and I have realized that the Crow is the only bird not kept in a cage.
So for past few days I have been thinking that if I were a Crow,
I could happily roam everywhere.
That's our problem too.
We make unnecessary comparison with others and become sad.
We don't value what God has given us.
This all leads to the vicious cycle of unhappiness.
Value the things God has given us.
Learn the secret of being happy and discard the comparison which leads only to unhappiness..
Say I thank you God for everything.

FOR SOMEONE LOSING HOPE

When I stepped into the land of my assignment in 2011, I wanted everything to happen really fast. I was running with all my energy. At various points, I was burning-out!

One day, I drove into a fuel station for a refill. I was driving a car with a capacity of about 60 litres. While the pump attendant refilled my tank, a motorcycle also rode in to the second pump. Before I knew it, the motorcycle was full and the rider rode off while I was still at the pump.

I got in before the motorcycle but it left before me. It suddenly occurred to me that it would be absolutely silly of me to think "I got here before it. How come it is leaving before me?" Why? Our capacity is not the same.

The truth is there are times in life when we are stuck at the pump of divinity. Those who came in behind us have gone ahead of us; those who learnt from you seem to have outran you; those who graduated years after you are now the ones calling the shot and it seem as though you are stuck.

Could it just be that your capacity is bigger than theirs? Could it be that your own assignment needs longer preparation? Could it be that your character is being formed for the task ahead?

You do not know what you need. Only the one who designed the journey knows what is important. Why don't you hold on?

Stop Complaining. Simply Hold-On! Your tank will soon be full.
Good evening

Reasons Why First Class Students In School Never Become First Class People In Life
Hardly do first class graduates become first class personality
While in University, we often spend too much energy in acquiring good grades that we forget to acquire good class personality.
After concentrating all energy in acquiring the first class grades, we transform into a society where first class grades don’t matter much as having a first class personality.
In school, its easy to read, memorize and pass exams, but in real life, there is no sure book of life to progress, no memorizing, no exams, just you and your inbuilt capability which require no contest with anybody.
Those who eventually become big in life are mostly people who hardly make good grades in school.
Anifowoshe Titilope had reported that, Prof. Abletor Sedofia from University of Ghana has this to say to us:
“Academic excellence is overrated!
Did I just say that? Oh, yes, I said it. Being top of your class does not necessarily guarantee that you will be at the top of life. You could graduate as the best student in Finance but it doesn’t mean you will make more money than everybody else.
The best graduating Law student does not necessarily become the best lawyer. The fact is life requires more than the ability to understand a concept, memorise it and reproduce it in an exam. School rewards people for their memory. Life rewards people for their imagination.
School rewards caution, life rewards daring. School hails those who live by the rules. Life exalts those who break the rules and set new ones. So do I mean people shouldn’t study hard in school? Oh, no, you should. But don’t sacrifice every other thing on the altar of First Class.
Don’t limit yourself to the classroom. Do something practical. Take a leadership position. Start a business and fail. That’s a better Entrepreneurship 101.Join or start an association. Contest an election and lose. It will teach something Political Science 101 will not teach you. Attend a seminar.
Read books outside the scope of your course.… Do something you believe in!
Think less of becoming an excellent student but think more of becoming an excellent person. Make the world your classroom !
Nairaland / General / Health Is More Important Than Wealth!!! by chatwithjide(m): 1:38pm On Jun 21, 2015
The day man dies, his money will still be in the bank or locker
When man is alive, he thinks he doesn’t have enough money to spend.
When man passes away, there is still a lot of money in his bank account not spent.
A British tycoon passed away.
He left for his widow 1 Billion Pounds in the bank.
The widow remarried one of her husband’s young employees.
The employee said,
“All this while I thought I was working for my boss.
I now realize that my boss was all the time working for me!”
Moral of the Story
It is more important to live longer than to have more wealth.
• Strive to have a strong and healthy body.
• In an expensive cell phone, 75% of the functions are useless.
• In an expensive car, 75% of the speed is not needed.
• In a big luxurious house, 75% of the space remains unoccupied or unutilized.
• In a whole wardrobe of clothes, 75% of them are rarely worn.
• Out of whole life’s earnings, 75% stays behind for other people to use.
• In every human being, 75% of the talent is not utilized
So, how to make full use of our 25%?
• Go for medical check-up even when you feel fit.
• Drink more water even if you’re not thirsty.
• Let go your ego, whenever you can.
• Give in even if you are right.
• Be humble even if you are very powerful.
• Be contented even if you are not rich.
Have a Great Life !
