I think you got it all wrong. Whenever there's these sort of awards, some people will vote based on friendship, objectivity, popularity, crush, biasness and based on merit. What you feel might not be a humble act, might be one to another moniker either based on merit or friendship. So, it's really no biggie. Just let it go, not all awards people receive are well-deserved; some are, some aren't.
