Ok. I tried reaching out via the PM stuff. I don't know how. But you can reach me through the email I left on your thread. Don't know if it's allowed to drop phone numbers here.

Its been a while since someone posted positive news on the thread so let me break the ice.
Mum had her appointment today and it went smoothly.
She was asked a few questions about where she is traveling to and where she retired from, none of the documents she had with her was checked.
First time traveler to US but has traveled to other countries and am a permanent resident.
Visa approved!
A big congratulations on mom's visa approval. Please was this in Lagos or Abuja? Which countries had she gone to be now? Congratulations once again.

I renewed my visa this morning and was granted.
I was asked how much I earn, why I didn’t travel on my last visa, what my husband does, where I’m going to in the USA and if I have any children. That was all (2-3 minutes).
Good luck to everyone traveling. I noticed some preggies, one was issued she’s quite big so wasn’t so noticeable and the other wasn’t given. The atmosphere wasn’t as tense as 2019 renewal. All the best to everyone looking to renew.
congratulations ma. Please I want to ask if you have been to the US before ma?

POE Experience:

I just arrived the US via Lax airport, and as a first time mom I would like to share my POE experience. (P.S I read so much information on this forum that I got scared for months before my departure ).

Me: Hello
CBP: Hi, passport please
Me: gave him my passport and declaration form( he return the form to me)
CBP: Face the camera
CBP: How long are you here?
Me: 5 weeks , including the 10 days of quarantine
CBP: What are your plans?
Me: first I will visit Bleep, and then plan my visit to yyy and zzz
CBP: Are you here alone?
Me: Yes
CBP: you don’t have anyone here?
Me: I do have someone I will be staying with in Bleep first
CBP: Do you have a return ticket?
Me: Yes
CBP: For what date?
Me: May Bleep ( note he repeated I wrong date, so I removed my mask and corrected him)
CBP: Is this your first time in the USA?
Me: Yes, but was supposed to be here last year for a conference but couldn’t because of COVID-19

CBP: How much do you have on you?
Me: Bleep
CBP: Is that all you’ve got?
Me: yes
CBP: Welcome and enjoy your stay ( stamped me on till October)

Whoop, the questions seem much, but didn’t spend up to 5 min. However I was scared with the many questions, I could feel my voice cracked at one point

Background context:

I got my b1/b2 visa in London for a conference in New York, I couldn’t later attend because of lockdown. Now I’m currently 25 weeks pregnant and wanted to use the opportunity to visit and child birth. Also, I didn’t know I have a family friend in the USA during my visa application, recently got introduced to the person and I’m staying with them for the duration of my stay.

I’m really grateful for the successful entry, and thanks to everyone that share their experiences.

There is no full-proof process to it... just put your trust in God and hold enough cash

I also wasn’t stoped by custom, and no one collected the declaration form from me
congratulations ma!
Thanks for sharing your POE experience.
I can read here that you applied from the UK. Pls ma I want to know if you used your Nigeria passport for the application?, and if you had residence status in the UK as at when you applied.

Hopeful to hear from you ma.
Once again enjoy your trip ma.
