the person is wrong sir, foreign turkey can never be compare to local turkey in weight, in less than 3month a foreign turkey is over 5kg plus while a local is far below this weight

1)from 7-8 months a male turkey is mature/ ready for mating, 2)female turkey start laying frm 7 months some may start from 8 months 3) it is not easy to differentiate a male or female turkey at tender age sir, one can only guess, some expert claim the male are taller and the female is smaller etc

I bought five point of lay turkeys and they started laying a month after I bought them, my problem with them is that they lay for 10 days effectively before they start sitting all day without laying, I changed their nesting areas and they observe a break for like 3weeks before they start laying again and this has been the cycle three times now.
what can I do to make them to be laying continuously without having a Break.

always remove the egg layed from where u kept the turkey....simple

It's a cat, when I heard the hen shouting that late night, I hurriedly open my door and I saw the cat speedily dived out of the room. The chicks were three weeks old then. My hen covering eggs in that same room is making me feel worried.

guess they were still young that is why. try to block the window....removing the hen to another location is a risk (she may not cover the egg).leave her in the room nothing will happen to her....if you are still scared better block the Windows/hole the cat use in entering the room and u can also buy a trap to cat/kill the cat. good luck

My teacher I m back o. My sick hen has since recovered, I just discovered she has layed eight eggs in the uncompleted room in my compound and has started covering the eggs since Wednesday. My fear is that, pussy cat may storm that room at night and kill her, cats usually roam at night from compound to compound in my area. I want to move the hen and the eggs to a safer place.
