Christianity EtcIs God Not A Fool To Accept Such Inhumane Death? by chichichilong(op): 4:20pm On Mar 30, 2018
We were not there from the beginning when God created the heavens and earth and therefore do not know the proactive measures, standards, principles and ideologies He has set for Himself to guide Him. I feel we are also possessed by His nature and that is why we set rules, principles, etc for ourselves to help us function well on planet earth. It is therefore not for us to question His ways and why He has to send Jesus to redeem mankind through suffering and death. Just thinking……., may be, that is the measure He has established from the beginning and found that it is the best way to redeem mankind; and it has really worked. He arose with countless benefits. Celebrating Easter is creating a legacy or leaving a memory behind for the present generations to carry on with. There is every reason to pass on the story of the sufferings and the death of Jesus Christ and the reasons behind this story to our children and the generations unborn. Celebrate Jesus Christ! He arose and is alive forever! Ideal olive wishes you a joyous Easter Celebrations.keep reading!

PoliticsChallenges Of Hate Speech To Democratic Consolidation by chichichilong(op): 2:27pm On Mar 24, 2018
The federal government should make sure that they do not interrupt the freedom of speech on the grounds of hate speech. It is good to study both to get a clear distinction, as hate speech is entirely different from free speech. No government can stand or succeed without due criticism. People have the right to say whatever they want, as everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, no matter how offensive it may be. But just because we can say something, does not mean that we should say it anyhow. Hate speech is dangerous to national cohesion, democracy and democratic consolidation and should be fought by all Nigerians starting from the leaders. However, it should be noted that free speech is different from hate speech and should be preserved as it is the only way to address the issues in governance and correct societal ills to achieve democratic consolidation, national cohesion and ensure national growth and development.

Emmanuel retained his status as champion at the recently concluded African Wrestling Championships held in Port-Harcourt. He won gold last year at the National Championships in Bayelsa state in March thereby successfully defending his title in Port Harcourt. SportsGuess Who Will Be At The Russia 2018 Fifa World Cup? by chichichilong(op): 4:13pm On Mar 15, 2018
World Cup is here again and among the 31 countries that will be on parade in Russia, FIFA is expecting Nigeria to send a preliminary list of 40 players, at least four months before the kick-off of competition. As usual, this task might not be an easy one but it is not what the German Technical Adviser to the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr cannot handle. Rohr has listed the football stars that already have automatic tickets to Russia 2018 World Cup and ideal Olive brings to you those who have proved themselves indispensable.

Christianity EtcNysc Uniform Amendment Bill – Religious Fanaticism by chichichilong(op): 12:13pm On Mar 09, 2018
We create unnecessary difficulties for ourselves most times. There are dressing codes for different occasions. In Nigeria for example, some professions like doctors, nurses, engineers, police men and women, military personnel, etc. have their uniforms. Sportsmen and women have their attire. Women on exercise don’t go about their exercises wearing skirt. How will Muslim sports women feel doing their sports wearing hijab? NYSC comes with lots of exciting activities like mountaineering, bridge crossing, long distance trekking, etc., and they are not what ladies can undertake wearing skirt of hijab. Moreover, the beauty of NYSC is partly in its uniform. Ideal Olive commends the senate for rejecting the bill.

PoliticsDeath Sentence For Hate Speech Bill – Hateful Approach by chichichilong(op): 4:03pm On Mar 03, 2018
Why won’t people use hate speeches in a country besieged by crooks as leaders? Hate speeches even help to increase the life span of some people because that is how best they can vent their anger and frustrations. Even the present administration is guilty of hate speech against the past administration; so what is the basis for the bill? President Buhari was guilty of hate speech when he threatened that both the "baboon and the dog will be soaked in blood during his campaign. Before we talk about anti hate speech bill, this administration should first apologize for being the promoters of hate speech. This administration should first address its leadership of sectionalism which is hateful in its entirety before passing anti hate speech bill.

BusinessPmt Boss Completes Road Projects In Nsukka And Emene, Enugu by chichichilong(op): 3:39pm On Mar 01, 2018
Good roads, clean and adequate water supply, power supply, employment opportunities, etc. are what the government and senior citizens owe the masses. With these facilities, people will be inspired to work hard to put food on their tables and meet their other needs. People need more of these than the bags of rice and the vanishing naira notes they receive during campaigns. With basic social amenities on ground, people will focus more on how to better their lives and focus less on witches and wizards attacks. Ideal olive commends the Chairman/CEO, Peace Mass Transit Ltd., Dr. Sam Maduka Onyishi for his giant strides, especially the construction of about 2 kilometer road, with twin drainage, spanning Enugu road through Orba road, to the South Gate of University of Nigeria, Nsukka; recently commissioned by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and the ongoing construction of 600 meters in length road stretching from the main Airport Road across to the old Emene Road, Emene, Enugu.

PoliticsPdp, Apc In A Corruption Contest by chichichilong(op): 4:30pm On Feb 28, 2018
The blame game politics and the politics of hate and destructive criticisms have left many Nigerians confused about the way out for Nigeria, which in no doubt is caught up in an oppressive struggle; the helpless victim in the tale of two poisonous cities, PDP and APC. It is left for Nigerians to decide their fate come 2019 through their voter’s card.

PoliticsBuhari Has Corruption On His Nose by chichichilong(op): 12:35pm On Feb 16, 2018
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has again criticized President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, saying that Buhari's anti-corruption crusade has been polluted by people in his inner circle. According to The Nation, the former President in this recent attack stated that Buhari has corruption on his nose. Idealolive..com is also appealing to the president to start planning for a better replacement as he is now in captive of the corruption he came to fight. Nigerians need to move forward.

Foreign AffairsJacob Zuma Finally Resigns As South African President by chichichilong(op): 12:28pm On Feb 16, 2018
It has become absurd that African leaders have become so obsessed with power that they will have to wait until they are disgraced out of the office before they decide to resign or step aside. The most annoying thing is that they are not colonizing their countries for the well being of the citizens but for their selfish interests. One can hardly name any of them with good record and without an iota of corruption. Yet they will want to stick like pests on the countries they rule until they rip it of all the goodness that God Almighty has embedded in them.

PoliticsWanted! Millionaire Snake Of Makurdi Jamb Office by chichichilong(op): 3:56pm On Feb 13, 2018
The story of the mysterious snake that allegedly broke into the JAMB’s vault at its Benue State Office in Makurdi, leading to the disappearance of a total of N36 million has continued to generate some controversy since the weekend. That Philomena’s housemaid connived with another JAMB staff, Joan Asen, to “spiritually” steal N36M from Makurdi Jamb office makes no sense. Idealolive..com.ng says, the millionaire snake must be hunted down and operated on, to recover the 36 Million Naira, because a set of people cannot continue to starve others in this country and get away with it.

PoliticsNigeria Need The Likes Of Dr. Alex Ekwueme by chichichilong(op): 4:27pm On Feb 03, 2018
We celebrate the rich and the famous; we bow to kings and queens; we fear the powerful and influential personalities; but one thing is note worthy: Those that deserve respect and honour are those who use their God-given potentials to serve God and common man. Those who deserve to be honoured are men of integrity, men who value the lives of their fellow human beings, men who have good sense of judgment and who stand for the truth, no matter who is involved. To rename the Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ikwo Ebonyi State as Dr. Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo is an honour well deserved. We urge the citizens of Nigeria to think of such men of integrity and give them their votes this coming election.

Christianity EtcReligious Extremism by chichichilong(op): 3:03pm On Feb 02, 2018
When I was little, I hear about few pastors who pray for the sick and they get healed, I hear about prophets, evangelists and men of God who pray and the lame will walk, the blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dumb will speak and even a dead person will come back to life. People attend crusades with great expectations of getting so much burdens and problems off their neck. But these days, it is about the richest pastors in the world, the richest pastors or men of God in Africa, the richest pastors or men of God in Nigeria, the brand of cars they ride on, those that have acquired private jet, those of them that has built the most magnificent cathedrals, etc.

Foreign AffairsTrump’s Vulgar Words, What The Wise Will Rather Do by chichichilong(op): 10:47am On Jan 20, 2018
If our president who should be protecting and promoting his country can make statements while speaking in a foreign land, that suggest that Nigerians are criminals, then, I think Trump’s offence is not that grave after all. In fact I feel like commending him to an extent for holding his country to a high esteem. African leaders especially Nigeria should strive for growth and development in order to stand out among the developed nations. It is normal for us to react to Trump’s vulgar statements but as we fret over it, we need to do what the wise will rather do. The anger from the provocation should drive us into breaking away from mediocrity and becoming the best. Who said that Nigeria or one of the African countries cannot be a super power, capable of attracting the whites? Trump’s vulgar words can be a vehicle to a wiser and better Africans, if we can ride on it.

Christianity EtcRichest Pastors In An Impoverished Nation by chichichilong(op): 9:39am On Jan 20, 2018
Violence, crime, destruction of lives and properties have become a tradition in Nigeria and poor people suffer it the most, yet all we hear from the men of God is pray. The prophecies that come to us concerning the current happenings are prayers, prayers, prayers, and nothing but to pray. Are we going to continue praying until we are all wiped out? Are God’s ears not itching because of our too many unnecessary petitions, as a result of our dumbness and inability to read and understand the times? God cannot come down from heaven to engage in the fight or battle of words when we are here. The men of God who have eaten fat from their poor members and are swimming in billions should please rise and speak because they have all it takes for their voices to be heard, if not, they are not being relevant because the politicians also swim in billions, as a result of exploiting the masses, it makes them all the same; no difference.

Christianity EtcCollapse Of Church Building Roof by chichichilong(op): 2:27pm On Jan 15, 2018
The roof of a Church building located at Abakiliki Road, GRA, Enugu in Enugu state collapsed yesterday night at around 8.00 pm. All Saints Anglican Church was dedicated in the middle of last year after its renovation. Eyewitnesses and some members of the church have alleged that the reason for the collapse is because experts have not been involved in making sure that the church gets a professional touch, to stop the incessant crumpling that has become an embarrassment to the worshipers; adding that the church have been renovated severally, yet it keeps collapsing.

PoliticsMalicious Laws To Reconsider by chichichilong(op): 5:04pm On Jan 13, 2018
Don’t our past leaders have cars presently? Don’t they have enough money stored in banks for their generations unborn? Of course they can survive comfortably with what they already have. Their greed just wouldn’t allow them to make some sacrifices for the growth of the country they call their own. These are the leaders whose contributions to the development of Nigeria have never been felt by Nigerians. What meaning achievement did they make during their time as leaders? I forgot that calling them leaders is a grammatical error because they are not; they are just politicians. We are not slaves to the laws we made. Most of our laws are malicious and should be viewed as repugnant to natural justice, equity and good judgment. Some of these laws have turned most Nigerians to complete idiots. If Nigeria must survive, then our laws must be revisited because our laws are more of our problems.

CrimeIllegal Migration – Nis Please Stop Border Leakage by chichichilong(op): 11:22am On Jan 12, 2018
Instead of being protective of Nigerian boundaries, Nigeria Immigration Service has made itself a cesspool of corruption, nepotism, and primordial sentiments. Before the introduction of e-passport, the rate at which the members of staff forge passport is very alarming. Then it was very easy for an individual to have multiple passports bearing different names, and also very easy for non-Nigerians to get the country’s green passport. Thanks to the e-passport which has reduced these fraudulent practices, though has not eliminated it. To express their appreciation following the introduction of e-passport system, NIS has made it so impossible to get it. It takes weeks and months to get, except for the person who is ready to rob fingers.

PoliticsJonathan Vs Buhari – The Game Of Comparison by chichichilong(op): 11:08am On Jan 12, 2018
President Buhari is not a child and before he came back into power he already knows the height of insecurity in the country. He has been in power before; that means he has got enough experience that should teach him to be proactive. He came back to power with promises that he will stop the killings. As an experienced politician and an elderly Nigerian, his promises only conveyed the message that he has already pre-planned and mapped out strategies on how to protect Nigerians before contesting for presidency. That is what Nigerians expect. They expected him to take over power again adopting proactive measures and not the other way round. Nigerians don’t expect the flimsy reasons coming from the presidency. They are rather disappointed because President Buhari has failed to perform all the magic he promised to perform, which he accused Jonathan countless times of not performing. He should know better; he ought to have come back to power with solutions and not flimsy reasons. Is he no longer the strong man he claimed to be that Jonathan is not?

PoliticsRight Attitude To Vote Campaign by chichichilong(op): 4:37pm On Jan 10, 2018
The power to vote or not to vote during elections is in the hands of the adult citizens. The decision made by those who are eligible to vote goes a long way to determine how the nation or state will be governed. In Nigeria, those that participate in the voting process are usually few. The citizens can cue to collect their voter’s card whenever it is tied to their bank account but only few will turn out to vote with same when the time comes for them to go out and vote. The common Nigerians have many excuses and reasons why they will not vote but are the first to die in the hands of terrorists like boko haram, Fulani herdsmen, etc.; they are the ones who fill the hospital beds because of water borne diseases or diseases caused by dirty environment; etc. Some of their excuses for not voting are: If you vote them into power, they will not keep their promises; whether I vote or not, I will still suffer to put food on my table; Are they the ones feeding me? Etc. Flimsy reasons from the most affected Nigerians that will never take us anywhere. Yet, these are the people that have the power to shape Nigeria. Meanwhile, the Fulani herdsmen and other enemies of Nigeria will leave their cattle and their other engagements on the day of election to go and vote for those who will protect their cannibalistic desires. True Nigerians need to grow up.

CrimeBenue Killings – Ortom Urges Arrest of Leadership Of Miyetti Allah by chichichilong(op): 5:03pm On Jan 06, 2018
The killing of innocent people in Benue State by the Fulani herdsmen has continued to raise dust. People must be itching to hear that arrest has taken place which is exactly what must be done. The perpetrators should be prosecuted without too much talking. But this is Nigeria and anything can happen. Will this case again be treated like nothing? Will it again be swept under the carpet? Well let’s keep our hands crossed and see what happens.Meanwhile, Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, in an interview with newsmen spoke on the New Year attacks and killings on account of the anti-open grazing law and the consequent protests. He said that the right thing to do is for the Federal Government to wake up to its responsibility and arrest the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore who did not hide its feelings but threatened to frustrate the anti-open grazing law, adding that if the Federal Government do not do this, then they are simply saying that Benue State is not part of Nigeria.
Femi Fani-Kayode was very blunt about the matter. In his tweet, he said, “Buhari is using his Fulani herdsmen to wage a silent genocidal jihad. 120 innocent souls slaughtered like "point and kill" catfish and the very next day he appoints a DG for his 2019 press campaign organization. How can anyone be so cold, callous, cruel and insensitive”? I thank God for honest people.

CrimeBloodbath In Benue State By Fulani Herdsmen by chichichilong(op): 10:48pm On Jan 04, 2018
It seems to me that people in power are waiting for the total annihilation of the lower class and even the middle class before they will decide on what to do to stop the incessant killings going on in the country. The rate at which they theorize issues or speak grammar of regret and condemnation of killing without doing anything serious to stop it is heart breaking. Slowly, the strength of Nigeria and its manpower are butchered in their tens and hundreds, yet all we hear is news of how government regrets and condemns the killings and what they are planning to do. If our lives are not valued even in our own country, why will it be valued outside Nigeria? No wonder Nigerian illegal emigrants are slaughtered by other Africans outside Nigeria. When will all these killings stop? When will President Buhari perform the magic that he said his predecessor is incapable of performing? We are talking about human beings here, not animals. Are they waiting for Nigerians to be wiped out completely before they swung to action? If they are actually Nigerians they should act fast, otherwise, I don’t see them as Nigerians because they are just the smart ones who receive salaries and allowances for doing nothing. As far as I am concerned, the active Nigerians are being slaughtered and it has to stop.

CrimeMass Killings In Rivers, Kaduna And Kwara On New Year Day by chichichilong(op): 4:12pm On Jan 02, 2018
While many people are celebrating after ushering in the New Year, a lot of people have been thrown into mourning as a result of their loved ones that lost their lives in the New Year mass killings. It is so alarming the rate with which people lose their lives like animals on daily basis in Nigeria. On my way home with friends after the New Year midnight prayers, I saw a police security vehicle on patrol and I was happy that at least the police men are doing their job to ensure that people had a smooth transition into the New Year. Little did I know that it is not so in some places. Police people more than anybody knows the height of insecurity in this country and should know what to do at all times. Is it that we don’t have enough policemen in this country to send to patrol around the cities, towns and villages in this country or what? Is it that they were deployed but do not know their job or what? Do they lack the equipment to do their job? Why are they just mobilizing their men to investigate and restore peace only when the deed has been done? How many times will things like these happen for the security personnel to sit up and know what to do in case of another? Are they always learning to do their job?

PoliticsFuel Scarcity – Why Every Christmas by chichichilong(op): 6:45am On Dec 30, 2017
I can’t stop wondering why fuel scarcity occurs during Christmas season. I have gone through reports but instead of getting an answer, I got more confused because the stakeholders in the oil sector are busy playing blame games. There is no smoke without fire. Who are we to blame among the blame game players? Who is the sincere one among them that is qualified to tell the truth? Whose report shall we accept? Why must it always be during Christmas period when movement is high? If the Federal Government cannot handle or control the excesses under its power, who will? When will there be an end to fuel scarcity in an oil producing country? Anybody who contested and is elected to any position of power should endeavor to do his or her work and prove his or her ability to handle his position, salary and allowances, and stop blaming anybody for his or her failure. Common Nigerians have suffered enough.

BusinessInnoson Vs Gtbank – Business Men Deserves Applause by chichichilong(op): 6:33am On Dec 30, 2017
A lot has been said since the arrest of Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the CEO of Innoson Group. I am not sure of what to believe but as someone who is working with a business man, I have witnessed so much abuse meted out to those who are genuinely doing their businesses and contributing to the development of this country. These are the people the country ought to protect, encourage and pamper for helping to develop the country amidst economic challenges. These are the same people helping to reduce unemployment in Nigeria and thereby minimizing crime. The authorities should have a rethink and be properly re-oriented before they finally cripple the economy with their malicious activities. Nigeria cannot survive under a harsh or unfriendly business environment

PoliticsColonial Shoes Doesn’t Fit by chichichilong(op): 6:23am On Dec 30, 2017
It is normal in this world for one person to influence another, people to influence other people, nation to influence other nations, etc. This influence however, depends on who is being affected. If I admire and am understudying someone, it is my responsibility to copy those qualities in that person that is relevant to me, do away with mine that are irrelevant and ignore those qualities in that person that are not relevant to my purpose. But Nigeria’s case is different. We copied almost their lifestyle and are gradually doing away with our culture. Their most precious culture, which is timeliness, we overlooked. After many years of independence, Nigeria still staggers in the shoes of its colonial masters, their shoes that don’t fit us.

CultureOfalla Festival Of Hymns by chichichilong(op):
Ofala festival in Ukpo which is usually held in the week that precedes Christmas, ends with a thanksgiving service at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Ukpo. In addition to some dignitaries that come from within and outside Nigeria to celebrate the Ofala with Prince Arthur Eze, the Ofala thanksgiving service is usually graced by different groups of choristers from within and outside Anambra State. It is the custom in St. Mary's Anglican Church, Ukpo every Ofala Thanksgiving Sunday for the Vicar to call on Prince Arthur Eze to come and talk to the congregation. And so, the long awaited time came and the Vicar of the Church as usual invited Prince Arthur Eze to talk to the congregation. You need to be there to see how one man dishes out millions and billions of Naira with his mouth. I nearly fainted as he mentioned the millions and billions he has given out already and yet to give out to different groups that are engraved in his diary. The ease within which he mentions these huge sums of money will make you think he plucks them from his backyard, and he does as he says. After all said and done, we got our own share. But hey, don’t start imagining how many millions we were given because ours is not that much but it is good. He loves Hymns and music and therefore will not want to lose the choir that comes around to sing for him. If he gives us millions or billions, what do you think? We will not desire to go sing for him again.

PoliticsOfalla Festival Of Hymns by chichichilong(op):
Ofala festival in Ukpo which is usually held in the week that precedes Christmas, ends with a thanksgiving service at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Ukpo. In addition to some dignitaries that come from within and outside Nigeria to celebrate the Ofala with Prince Arthur Eze, the Ofala thanksgiving service is usually graced by different groups of choristers from within and outside Anambra State.
