Do male children not deserve to get more of home training to make them more responsible? Why do parents, especially mothers pay more attention to their female children when it comes to home training and character formation, neglecting their male children? As we train the female children to behave well, just for them to qualify for marriage, is it not also proper to pay even more attention to the male children that will marry the trained female ones, in order to balance the equation? The neglect of male children has caused so much harm in the society today; there are many beasts today instead of men. Majority of our leaders who have done much harm to the society are men, prisons are filled up with young and older men; women prisoners are few, there are many men today who are old enough to shoulder responsibilities, yet they are still mummy’s boy, some are even transforming themselves to women (transgender), we can go on and on. It took time for me to decide whether prisoners actually deserve compassion and words of hope, knowing that some had actually raped the opposite sex, robbed people of their possessions, probably killed their fellow human beings or committed one crime or the other. However, I realized that there are more criminals who are not locked up like those in prisons, those who know how to cover up their crimes. They are all around us; in the market places buying and selling, in the schools, hospitals, government offices and houses, in work environments, even among the prison staff; stealing public funds and what do not belong to them. It just happened that those imprisoned are the unfortunate ones. I also realized that some of them in the prisons are paying for the crimes they did not commit.

One of the remarkable events that make Easter exciting is Easter Rally tagged Victory March, which takes place every Easter Monday. Enugu Anglican Diocese of the Church of Nigeria has held on to this rally for many tears now uninterrupted and this year’s Victory march is indeed as victorious as that of other years. Easter 2018 has come and gone but the message of Easter should not be a seasonal thing, let the memories attached to it forever live in our hearts and be visible in our conducts until we celebrate again come 2019.
