The Department of State Service has issued a statement warning people against inciting and divisive statements.

The warning was given by Deputy Director, Public Relations Marilyn Ogar.

“Its attention has been drawn to certain unguarded, inciting and divisive statements by some persons.

We want to warn those stoking these embers of violence and disunity to desist, as this will not be tolerated. We should all strive to strengthen our nascent democracy as we work towards building a better Nigeria.

We want to also seize this opportunity to thank all Nigerians for their peaceful conduct during the Presidential election and urge them to shun all forms of violence before, during and after the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly election which will take place this weekend 11th April, 2015″.

I got a call last night and after questioning the person like a detective, I realised it was a friend whom I had lost his contact. He said some things that got me thinking, so I decided to throw it down for you guys.

He told me that I had been speaking from the view point of a woman and have been quite unfair to the guys, which is normal as I can only speak from my own view. He also made me understand that men are simply baffled by the workings of a woman’s mind.

The question of what it takes to please a woman came up and he complained stating that if you are nice and respectful and treat her well, you are branded as being “too nice” and called boring , then when you turn things around and do the opposite, you are called an asshole. And he asked, what does it take to please a woman? What do women want?

My answer to him was that women do not want a goody too shoes guy, you become “Mr. Bore my Brains Out” after a while and we do not want the randy asshole, who was never taught to respect a woman. Women want a balance in between.

Don’t smother us with attention and don’t pay us the minuscule sized attention, let there be a balance. We want to know we matter to you and yet you also need to have a bit of mystery around you.

Yeah, we are complicated like that with a lot of drama but that’s what makes us interesting. I will also try to bash the guys a bit less and focus on the ladies but I am not promising anything.

I have a question for the guys and I hope my curiosity is satisfied with the answers I get. Why do guys prefer to text rather than call a woman? I don’t understand it, how hard is it to pick up the phone and call to ask that lady out?

Ever since various social media sites have been established, you see a guy who is vying to get your attention sending you various BBM, Whatsapp , vice versa messages.

If only you knew that calling a woman you are trying to convince to date you would give you a very good chance. But keep on texting and the impression you give is that she is not important enough for you to spend mobile airtime calling, or that you are simply not confident in your ability to carry a decent conversation with her.


I do not know about other ladies but it becomes a turn off for me after a while. Once I notice that you have taken to text me instead of calling, losing interest is the next thing.

Texting is a way to keep things impersonal and casual as it is a limited means of communication and also gives the lady the impression that you are looking for a booty call.

Also I am anti-texting, if you send me a message on any of those platforms and it is not a life or death situation, the chances that I would reply are very slim. Send me an email instead.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand, guys make us understand why you would rather text instead of calling.

The children who were abducted by their housemaid have been found.

The two kids who are nephews to Kate Henshaw, Nollywood actress, were found abandoned near the Sagamu police station. A passerby saw the children and alerted the police to their presence.

The children, Raphael 3 and Michael 15 months have been returned to their parents. No arrests have been made in connection to the kidnap.

Mr Darlington Abuda, an uncle to the children said the kids will be taken to the hospital for medical examination and are currently being tended to by their mother.

He said, “We are jubilant. Their rescue is the best Christmas gift the whole family can ever get. Michael is crying now and the mother is attending to him and his elder brother. We give glory to God for returning them to the family safe and sound. I learnt they were abandoned near the Sagamu Police Station by the housemaid.”

There are calls from Japanese nationalists that Angelina Jolie be banned from entering the country.

This is due to her depiction of Japanese Second World War prison guards in the movie, “Unbroken”. The movie which would be released on Boxing Day in the UK is based on the true life story of U.S. soldier turned Olympian Louis Zamperini.

The American depiction of the war has left the nationalists furious and they are insisting that Jolie’s movie has no credibility.

Angelina Jolie has been called a racist and even a demon for directing the movie. A petition on the website, change.org has attracted 8,000 calling for a stop to the movie’s distribution.

A couple of social media campaigns have been launched with Angelina accused of defaming Japan as a nation.

After Chris Brown dissed Karrueche publicly and accusing her of sleeping with Drake, the singer is apologising for his actions and blamed it on being “young and dumb”.

The singer apologised on an Instagram post saying,

Floyd Mayweather Defends Putting Up Ex’s Abortion On Social Media

Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather justifies talking about his ex- fiancée’s abortion publicly because they are too famous to have private lives.
Mayweather had put up a sonogram of her pregnancy online and claimed that they broke up because she had an abortion.

Shantel Jackson, the former fiancée is suing Mayweather for publicly humiliating her and embarrassing her with the Instagram post. She had also sued him earlier this year for assault, battery, defamation and invasion of privacy.

Mayweather said that he was entitled to post details about every aspect of the relationship as

“Both parties are public figures. Abortion is a public issue. A public figure involved with another public figure in a public relationship can expect publicity, not privacy, about why it ends”.

In a tear filled statement in December, Shantel Jackson stated:

Is there really something called “love”? I am not speaking about the love you feel for your children, siblings or parents, but the one in the dating/relationship sense.

Is it a word that is simply thrown around to help you get laid? Or do you just say it to your partner because you have reached a point in your relationship where it is expected. I know that I have said those words quite a couple of times, but looking back now, I realise that I never understood the meaning of it and I still don’t. I said those words to my partner because he expected it not because I actually understood or felt the emotion.

To most people, love is that encompassing, life changing thing that you should hold on to strongly. What is the definition of love? What if what you feel is just strong affection or lust or infatuation? How can you tell the difference?

I ask because I am confused by the different ways we throw this word around. I think love is a myth, like those myths of heroes who achieved impossible deeds, we probably invented the idea of love just to comfort ourselves that there is this perfect illusion that we have to attain.

Then finally, try not to find yourselves groping and touching each other in any secret corner at work. Trust me, that corner you believe can never be found by anyone will one day give you away. Then you will find compromising pictures of yourself and your partner flying around the office.
I think the reason most of us find ourselves entangled with a colleague is because the work place is our home away from home. We spend a lot of time at work and look for ways to make that time more interesting.
