16-year-old Ifechukwu Atunanya, has been arrested having sex with over 52 young men inside a bush in what looked like an initiation ceremony. She claims she was forced to sleep with every male member of the cult during her initiation.

Ifechukwu was among 75 suspected cult members who were rounded up by Anambra State Police command.

All the suspects were alleged to be members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity and were all arrested in a bush in Awka during the initia­tion of new members.

Recovered from them were guns, matchet and several wraps of Indian hemp. According to the state Commissioner of Police, Hosea Karma, the police acted on an intelligence report that the cult members and their new entrants were in a bush performing some rituals. Part of their ritual, he explained, includes sleeping with prospective female members. He said they do that in order to secure their oath of secrecy. It was during the raid that 16-year-old Ifechukwu was arrested. At the police station, Ifechukwu, a second­ary school dropout and member, claimed that she had to travel to Anambra from Abuja just to witness the initiation of new members.

“I joined them three months ago and during my initiation, I was forced to have sex with every registered member of the cult present that night. I was given a sedative so as not to feel what they were doing.

A lecturer in a tertiary institution in Osun State (name withheld), on Thursday, collapsed inside a bank located within the institution’s premises following a discrepancy in his salary.

Witnesses said the lecturer fainted after discovering that his account had only been credited with N150 by the state government as 50 percent of his February salary instead of N150,000.

The lecturer, who is a post-graduate student at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), according to a witness, lamented, after being resuscitated by the bank’s officials, that the money paid
by the government into his account could not even transport him to Akure, where he was billed to write an examination.

The man, it was gathered, also disclosed that he had some outstanding fees to pay at the university which he had proposed to pay with the expected salary.

As of the time of this report, TribuneNG reports that he was said to be in a private hospital in Osogbo where his blood pressure, which had increased as a result of the shocking discovery in his account, was being managed.

South African First lady Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma has reportedly admitted to knowing about a plot to poison the president.

The City Press reports it has well-placed sources indicating she will soon be charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Ntuli-Zuma was apparently banned from the Nkandla homestead earlier this year following claims of a plot to poison Zuma.

It’s understood a docket has been opened with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) with sources saying Ntuli-Zuma has made a statement to investigators.

The City Press is reporting that while sources in the NPA say top bosses are aware of the matter, spokesperson Vuyo Mfaku has denied this.

An investigation is now underway to find out whether NPA staff leaked information about the probe.

Ntuli-Zuma was first suspected when the president became ill in June 2014.

Zuma was told that he had been poisoned by more than one doctor during his trip to the US in August last year.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed a hotel owned by ex-Super Eagles player, Kanu Nwankwo, on Victoria Island.

The hotel was among other hotels, churches and mosques sealed across the state on Monday over alleged air and noise pollution.

No fewer than 30 facilities were shut in areas, including Ketu, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki, Victoria Island and Surulere.

LASEPA said the owners of the facilities had been contacted several times in the last one year,
adding that they refused to fully complied with LASEPA’s instructions.

At a mosque in Ketu ─ Olorunkemi Mosque ─ the leaders claimed to have taken down their speakers as instructed by the agency almost immediately.

However, the mosque was sealed for allegedly not complying fully with LASEPA’s instruction.

Other places also sealed include the Rain of Power and Miracles Ministry Church, Lekki; Christ Apostolic Church, Lekki; Duckland Hotels and Suites, Ikorodu; and Mela Rossa Club, Victoria Island.

At the Hardley Apartments, it was noticed that the generators powering the hotel had large exhaust pipes facing the road.

The Director of Enforcement, Kayode Bello, ordered that one of the generators be tested, and it was discovered that it gave off thick gaseous emissions.

Bello said:

“Even the sound is going to be more than 45 decibels at night. We want you to comply ─ that is the reason we are here. We have been on this for more than a year.”

The doors and gates of the hotel were subsequently chained, and plastered with the LASEPA seal.

Later at a press briefing in Ikeja, PUNCH reports that LASEPA General Manager, Rasheed Shabi said:

“The environment belongs to every one of us. Lagosians need to live in peace. A survey was carried out by an international organisation and it was discovered that 60 per cent of Nigerians have hearing problem.

LASEPA, in the last two to three years, has been conducting surveys on religious houses, and our findings revealed that 95 per cent of them do not have approval to operate in Lagos.

Most houses and club houses do not have fiscal planning approval. Before you can build any hotel anywhere in the world, there must be an environmental impact assessment. Most of the markets we have in Lagos State; we have people using trucks to sell their products with speakers to disturb the peace of Lagosians. Soon, we will tow as many trucks as possible to get them off the streets.”

Shabi said the owner of the places sealed would sign an undertaking that they would comply with instructions meant to clean up the environment.

“After today, the enforcement unit will go round. Anybody that breaks the seal has violated the Lagos State law. We will then involve the Ministry of Justice,” Shabi added.

A 27-year-old Moroccan man died from suffocation while trying to illegally enter Spain hidden inside a suitcase that was in the trunk of a car on a ferry crossing.

The man’s older brother, aged 34 who appears to have tried to help smuggle him in, boarded the ferry
linking Melilla, a Spanish territory in North Africa, and Almeria with a car on Sunday. However, during the crossing he noticed that his brother was not breathing and alerted the ferry’s staff. Crew members as well as emergency services workers in the port of Almeria tried in vain to resuscitate the man.

The older man, a Moroccan with a French passport, has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.

On Sunday, Morocco’s interior ministry said four migrants from sub-Saharan Africa drowned while trying to swim around a fence from the mainland to the second enclave, Ceuta. Three others were rescued by the Moroccan navy.

A 32-year-old man, Amatari Christmas, has committed suicide in Bayelsa State after discovering that his wife was allegedly cheating on him.

Christmas allegedly took his life by consuming a insecticide known as ‘sniper’ when he found out that his wife, was allegedly having an illicit affair with an unnamed young man from Kolo area of the state.

The deceased, an indigene of Ayama community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, had two children.

It was learnt that the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, made the indigenes of Kolo
community angry. Some of the kinsmen of the deceased also vowed to deal with the woman and her lover said to be a cult member and indigene of Ayama.

A man from the deceased’s community, who identified himself as Francis, said Christmas, upon learning of his wife’s infidelity, chose to keep a close watch on her activities in the community.

He said:

“On Monday, the deceased went to harvest vegetable leaves in large quantity for sale for his wife. After the vegetable harvest, Christmas told his wife to return home after the market sale in order to cook meal for the family.

But Chrismas became worried and suspicious around 7pm on the fateful day when his wife did not return home as instructed.

He went in search of her at the in-law’s house. At the mother-in-law’s house, he was told she had gone to the father’s place in Ayama community. At the Ayama community, a concerned friend took him to the home of his wife’s lover where he discovered the lovers in bed.”

It was further learnt that the wife’s lover, threatened to deal with Christmas.

“But when the distraught husband sensed that he might be attacked by his wife’s lover, he decided to run into another building for safety.

After the deceased discovered that it was safe for him, he left for home and ended his life by swallowing insecticide. He locked out the kids and killed himself.”

The spokesman for the state Police Command, Asinim Butswat, said he had yet to be aware of the incident. “But we will check with our division and get you more details,” he stated.

Indeed, for Beatrice, sex is a way of life, a daily routine. According to her, she resorted to using what she has to get what she needs when her boyfriend who was sponsoring her education abandoned her following lies told against her by jealous friends.
“My boyfriend whom I met at Onitsha, Anambra State when I went to visit an un­cle was sponsoring my education. We had agreed to get married as soon as possible. Then some people I regarded as friends started peddling wicked lies against me and without confirming if what they were saying was true or false, he called it quits just like that. They told him I had an incur­able disease. So, I decided to help myself because my parents cannot do anything for me. We are poor. My father used to be a driver but he is now a lumber jack while my mother is a full time housewife. Sometimes, she sells vegetables, ” she explained.

She said that when her boyfriend walked out of the relationship, she got a job in the bar section of a hotel but her take-home pay could barely take her any­where. So, one day, she went to a night­club with her friends and a man took her to his hotel room. The following morning, the man gave her N15,000 for services rendered and she was hooked.
Consider what she said:
“They were paying me N10,000 a month and you work late hours. But if you go out to hustle in the night, you can get that kind of mon­ey within a day or two. About 600 men slept with me from last year to this year.”

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, Mr. Stephen Onona, in connection with the death of his close friend and employee, Mr. Daniel Solomon.

Onona is from Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State while Solomon was from Uruan LGA of Akwa Ibom State.

Onona was said to be an employee of Africana First Publisher, Uyo, where he worked for four years.

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, Mr. Gabriel Achong, said Onona invited
Solomon, who worked for him as a professional barber, to his house over a misunderstanding bordering on about N1m.

He stated that as soon as they had discussed the issue, Solomon went to bed while Onona took up a machete and cut off Solomon’s head before cutting other parts of the body in pieces.

The CP added:
“After cutting off Solomon’s head, he removed his two arms and laps, put them into his bag and threw them somewhere. He put the remaining parts of the body in ‘Ghana Must Go’ and dumped them in the gutter. He put Solomon’s head in the dustbin and dumped it in the bush.
When I got the news on Tuesday morning that somebody was killed and thrown into a gutter, I swung into action. I did every possible to get him arrested. I had to locate the owner of the house where the murderer lived.
We got the landlord and asked whom he gave the house to; and he disclosed the guy’s identity to us. And with the help of tracking device, we called the gentleman (Onona), and he told us that he was in Onitsha.
We tracked his number and in the evening on Tuesday, he was arrested in a street here in Uyo. He led the police to where he dumped all the body parts of Solomon. He has some friends and we used these friends number to get to him.”
Achong stated that when he reported the matter to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, he said the IGP wondered if Onona was of a sound mind.

He added that in the course of his interaction with Onona, he discovered that the suspect was of a sound mind, saying nothing was wrong with him.

Onona admitted to committing the crime, saying he was provoked because Solomon could not tell him how he had spent the N750,000 he gave him to set up the barbing business.

He said:
“I am 32 years old and working here with Africana First Publisher. I am in the police net because of my boy, Bassey Solomon. He took my money, N750,000, which I obtained from a bank for him to set up barbing business.
The barbing saloon was at 55, Itu Road. I am angry with him to the extent of carrying machete and killing him.”

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of late singer Whitney Houston, died on Sunday some six months after suffering irreversible brain damage.
Bobbi Kristina Brown, whose father is R&B singer Bobby Brown, was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her home by her partner and a friend on January 31. She was moved by her family to hospice care on June 24.
“She is finally at peace in the arms of God,” her family said. “We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
As news of her death became public, media crews and some fans gathered on a darkened cul de sac in the Atlanta suburb of Duluth, where ornate street lamps illuminated the ivy-covered brick nursing home where Brown died.
“We just wanted to show our respect,” said Ali Joyner (15) who persuaded her mom and a neighbor to drive the 20 miles from their home in Dacula, Georgia. “I just loved her mom, Whitney. And Bobbi is part of that.”
Her death came three years after her Grammy-winning mother, who had battled substance abuse, drowned in a bathtub in a Beverly Hills hotel at age 48. Authorities said cocaine abuse and heart disease contributed to Houston’s February 11 2012 death.

A $10-million civil lawsuit filed last month accuses Bobbi Kristina Brown’s partner, Nick Gordon, of causing her life-threatening injuries and of stealing from her bank account while she was in a coma. No one has been charged in the case.

The actor revealed the development in a recent radio interview in Brekete Family Program on 104.5FM in Abuja.

He disclosed that he had been battling with Glaucoma for years coupled with diabetes and lacked money to undergo a corrective surgery.

Iwuoha said he never knew he had diabetes until a violent armed robbery attack that landed him in hospital.

According to him, he was diagnosed with diabetes after series of tests and had been managing the ailment until it affected his sight.

He said, “I’ve gone to so many places; within the country, outside the country for treatment, until finally…finally, the thing [diabetes] claimed one of my sight. As I look at you now, I’m using only one sight. They call that glaucoma. And gradually, it’s affecting the other one [eye]. So, naim make, apart from places…the people who call me atimes, both the little cash they can give me…drugs and all that…but I discovered that this thing [the illness] is a lifetime something.

And it has robbed me of the job [acting]. And now, if I get a script, it will be hard for me to read it very well. And if I read it, if I strain my eyes for so long, it would look as if someone would lead me around the house or anywhere I want to go because it will affect the only one [eye]. So that’s my problem.”

He called on well meaning Nigerians to assist him raise the sum of N3.5million so he would go to a hospital in the US where he was referred to for the surgery.

According to him, he asked the president of the Actor’s Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Ibinabo Fiberesima, for assistance but never got any even though the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan gave her some money.

He revealed that he has been able to raise about N200, 000.
