Autos / Busted NYC Car Theft Gang Was Supplying Luxury Autos To Naija... by Chief06: 10:57pm On May 17, 2012
Na wa
http://www.1976ad.com/2012/05/17/car-theft-ring-busted-in-new-york-points-to-nigeria-as-destination-of-stolen-luxury-suvs/ (Link has pics if you care to see them)

Calling all Lagos and Abuja Big Boys and Girls: Those luxury SUV’s you’re driving could be stolen!

Following the bust of a luxury SUV car theft ring and the arrest of 14 individuals; the New York City Police Chief has reported that due to ‘customer demand’ from Africa, two ‘international brokers’ from New Jersey and Maryland, hired car thieves in New York to steal high end Lexuses, Acuras and Toyotas which were then loaded into cargo containers and shipped to Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal.

Police say 108 cars were allegedly stolen by the car theft ring over the last year.

Their mode of operation would be to stalk whoever owned the targeted vehicle, looking for the best opportunity to steal the car. Reportedly, there was one woman who took her child to school to come out to only find that her car had been stolen.

According to the indictment, the operation’s international broker would place an order with the local broker, who would relay the order to the ‘steal crew’ boss, specifying what was to be stolen by model, year, color and accessory package.

Members of the steal crew would then “fill the order” by getting the VIN number of a specific car of a specified version on the streets of New York City.

Once the VIN is obtained, their inside man at Toyota would use it to get the security codes and cut a new set of keys. Keys which would then be sent to the ‘steal man’.

Once inside the targeted car, the ‘steal man’ would use a portable computer to program the key to sync to the vehicle’s unique code, enabling him to cleanly steal the vehicle without causing any damage, or setting off any alarms. Forged document specialists created the paperwork used to disguise the stolen vehicles, including new VIN plates and titles for each stolen car.

To further facilitate the movement of the containers containing the stolen vehicles, the ring provided false VINs to shipping companies, thereby disguising the containers’ true contents.

The thieves were reportedly paid between $10,000 – $15,000 in cash while the broker then sold the cars for more than triple that amount.

The charges on the indictment range from Grand Larceny to Enterprise corruption and if found guilty of the latter, they could face up to 25 years in jail.
Celebrities / Don Jazzy Responds To D’banj: ‘I Wish You Well, Son’ by Chief06: 2:17pm On Apr 25, 2012
Source http://www.isourmusic.com/2012/04/25/don-jazzy-responds-to-dbanj-i-wish-you-well-son/

In an exclusive telephone interview with Ascology News, Don Jazzy started off by saying he never wanted the issue to become this messy, even as he was aware of the way and manner social media has changed the way people view issue surrounding the lives of celebrities; a reason he said was why he’s always cautious of what he says and the interviews he grants to the media.

Both industry power-weights have been at loggerhead over alleged multiple financial disagreements, discrepancies involved in the signing of artist Dbanj into Kanye West’s Good Music record label, Don Jazzy’s lackadaisical attitude, Dbanj’s alleged public irresponsibility among other differences and conflicts that popped up between both.

“I want to be clear on something that I’m not interested in going into the debates of whatever Dbanj has said, be it through an interview, the press, social media or whatever. People should try and understand that these are very difficult moments for me and I need my space, time and moment to carry on with my life and the production of good music which is what fans have known me for a very long time”. Don Jazzy said.

The iconic producer, whose famous introvert and quiet lifestyle and personality as garnered him an enviable amount of fame, respect and magnanimous swag in Nigeria’s entertainment scene, staunchly dismissed claims by Dbanj buying houses, cars and properties for the Mo’hits boss and fellow artists, calling it “laughable and not worth responding to this early morning” claiming that quick thinking fans know his individual worth and personal financial worth of each artist at Mo’hits.

The Mo’hits boss was however very cautious and even more diplomatic in blaming, accusing or countering accusations attributed to Dbanj in various interviews, saying many of those things could not have been said by the Dbanj and he isn’t surprised when Dbanj claimed his accounts were hacked and also not further surprised when his (Dbanj) publicist released a statement denying some of the statements attributed to him; specifically during the interview with Ebony Magazine that Dbanj owns Mo’hits. Incidentally, Ebony Magazine are yet to release a public apology as earlier released by D’banj’s personal manager and the ‘I own mohits’ part of the interveiew still not excluded as of filing this report.

The Mo’hits boss further said in the unlikely event he decides to let the public knows his own side of the story, there is the tendency for his statements to be misconstrued and manipulated by mischief makers who he blamed use few accurate information to manipulate the public into believing things that never existed (a hint that the alleged email exchange is partially true or totally untrue); an ironical situation he hinted would force him to rather keep mute on the issue and let it die a natural death.

“When this whole thing started, I felt people needed to know what’s happening and in all civility, maturity and wisdom, I made those less than 140 words tweet in 3 separate lines, now see where it has led me to. Mohits is a family and Dbanj is like its son and families do quarell. Expecting me to come out and start countering accusations by one of my best friends ever while accusing him also in the process doesn’t justify my guilt or my innocence or that of his, He (Dbanj) however has a right to his opinion to grant interviews to whoever he wishes to grant interview to, I won’t stop him and won’t stop anyone who wants to believe whatever he says either”, he said.

In further attempts to get the Mo’hits boss talking, he was adamant but rightly so, reminding us of how those famous tweets confirming an apparent rift in the Mohits house got him into the messy situation as we see today.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the end of a long era and the beginning of a new one..Some of the rumours you have all heard recently are sad but true…The way forward now is to make sure I keep bringing you guys more of the beautiful music y’all love to dance to….And to end d old era I will b donating the proceeds of my production catalogue from day one till date to five charity organizations. Thanks. IDJA”

“Really, if I start responding to every single accusation, then the ‘lazy’ person I’ve been called would come out, and the ‘Fake’ person I am according to critics would obviously come out since I’m not a talkative and you the media know that, I want the handwork of my music productions and the proceeds of good music at Mo’hits to speak for itself, so asking me to comment on issues like this, I really am not just interested, personally my advice to fans is to concentrate on good music from Mo’hits and huhh….well even from Dbanj himself, music is what we were made to create and not controversies”, he added.

It was not immediately clear the positions of other artists at the Mohits house at the time of filing the report as label members Wande Coal, Dr Sid and D’Prince have all been short of economical with their opinions on the rift between their bosses.

As for Wande Coal who in an although diplomatic, yet paradoxically intended tweet to Dbanj said “God please don’t let the success you have given me get to my head to the extent that I will forget my humble beginnings”; the artist has however deleted the tweet shortly after – another debatable scenario which Dbanj sarcastically accused Don Jazzy of personally tweeting.

The multi-award winning music producer however said he wishes artist, Dbanj all the best in all he aspires to do even as he (Don Jazzy) begins a rebuilding, restructuring process.

Celebrities / Open Letter To D’banj by Chief06: 2:11am On Apr 09, 2012
Saw this here http://www.1976ad.com/2012/04/08/open-letter-to-iamdbanj-as-he-officially-changes-his-names-from-dapo-oyebanjo-to-daniel-banjo/, interesting...

Dear D’Banj,

I love your work, I really do, I think you’re one of the greatest musicians of your generation, but I must say, your new affiliation with G.O.O.D music seems to be getting to your head.

For years you’ve been known by your official name, Dapo Oyebanjo, even using it as part of your twitter handle. Well all good things come to an end, and your affiliation with your new label seems to have brought that particular chapter of your life to an untimely conclusion.

D’Banj you’ve now gone from ‘Dapo Oyebanjo’ to ‘Daniel Banjo’. All I can do is laugh, I mean, Daniel ‘Banjo‘ ? What are you, a country music star from Nashville?

I mean, I get it, Daniel provides the ‘D’ and Banjo provides the ‘Banj’, but negro please, you’re hustlin’ backwards. Why abandon the successful person you are to become a less successful version of what you’re not? You’re a Nigerian, not an American, and no matter how hard you try, you’ll never be one, so be yourself and have faith.

Plus, truth be told, based on a fan base, you’re the BIGGEST artist in the entire G.O.O.D music family other than Ye’ himself. You don’t need to become an Americanized version of yourself to fit in, not to knock their hustle, but I promise you, John Legend, Pusha T, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Common and your other label mates wish they had as many rabid long-time fans as you do, they Don’t. You’ve accomplished something most of them will never get to do, they should be insecure around you, not vice versa.

Either way, Dapo Daniel I’m sure you still have people who can advice you. I’d suggest they step up and tell you to accept who you are and not try to be something you’re not. Truth be told, your music is what people are interested in, not the un-africanization / westernization of your name, heck, just go study the life of Tupac Amaru Shakur to see how having an ethnic name is immaterial to one’s success. Or go further back and study the work of one of your mentors, the late, great Fela Anikulapo-Kuti who actually went from his westernized “Ransome-Kuti” to the very Nigerianized ”Anikulapo”. Till today his name still rings out in all corners of the world, heck he was even immortalized with a show on Broadway.

Anyway, all I’m trying to say is people love those who keep it 100, please get back to that.

I’ve spoken my piece.

Deuces.

Why am I not on point ? Why do you need photoshop to design a website in 2012 or Fireworks? CMS is the way to go, and neither PS or Fireworks is any form of CMS.

Then again, it's just my opinion,
Webmasters / Re: Fireworks Vs Photoshop by Chief06: 6:04pm On Jan 25, 2012
Why would you use Photoshop for web-designing? This is 2012 Internet 2.0 or is it 2.5 is the order of the day. Figure out a CMS and run with it, Wordpress is excellent, if you want to be fancy, move on to Joomla, but again Wordpress is a great CMS for most uses,

Why not simply turn off the data when you're not using it, then turn it back on when you are? Messing with individual apps while good, is too time consuming,

Twitter and FB consume data btw because they always check for updates,
