A plea of insanity is good defence in criminal law.
if Kanu pleads insanity he will not be able to stand trial. All that will be left is psychiatric evaluation.

There are concerns that a man who is willing to sacrifice his own family may be to dangerous to unleash on the society. how this plea would help Kanu remains to be seen.
