PoliticsRe: Lee Kuan Yew: Why Countries Like Nigeria Has Failed (video) by chigator2(op): 9:21pm On Apr 02
This is one of the many reasons why, as he rightly said, Nigeria continues to struggle. The idea is simple: people care less about things they do not truly feel belong to them. It is the same reason tenants often do not care as much about the long-term condition of a rented house. It is also why people usually do not invest too much emotion in a short-term fling.

Until Nigerians accept this basic reality, it will be difficult to make real progress. They must start thinking seriously about changing the structure of the country—either through true federalism or, if necessary, a peaceful separation rather than chaotic Balkanization. Only then can people begin to address their problems and improve their lives.

Let’s look at it more closely.

Can someone criticize the ruling government without immediately being accused of belonging to another tribe?

Every president or political leader is often accused of tribal favoritism when making appointments. But we should ask ourselves an honest question: if you had to choose between equally qualified people, would you not naturally pick someone you know or trust from your own circle or network? And in Nigeria, those circles are often naturally shaped by ethnic or tribal ties.

Instead of pretending these realities do not exist, we should face them honestly. The goal should be to bring governance closer to the people so that communities can manage their affairs in ways that better reflect their own interests and realities.
PoliticsLee Kuan Yew: Why Countries Like Nigeria Has Failed (video) by chigator2(op): 9:14pm On Apr 02
Lee Kuan Yew (late), the first Prime Minister of Singapore, is widely regarded as the central figure behind the country’s transformation into a highly developed economy. Despite having a land area smaller than Lagos State (the smallest state in Nigeria, for context), Singapore’s total economic output (GDP) is more than double that of Nigeria, while its GDP per capita is roughly ninety times higher.

TRANSCRIBED From the Video

Why have all these countries gone down? They have taken power over from the British, the Dutch, the French, the Belgians, and look at the Congo. Look at Nigeria, 45 million people. They don't enjoy our standard of living, vast natural resources, about 20 persons per square mile.

Why? I've asked myself this often, why? Because I must know the reason, otherwise I cannot fulfil my simple elementary function as a minister of the Singapore government. And I tell you there are many reasons. First, the will to be a nation.

If a group of human beings do not want to together constitute a nation, nothing can make them other than superior force. That's what the Dutch and the British did with their empires, and the French. Whether you like the other chap or not, I say that you together constitute my colony, and you are all British subjects, or French citizens, or Dutch protected persons, and so on.

Now, each one of them have taken over. And a heterogeneous lot have taken over. And that variegated group must agree that they want to be a people.

givedemwotowoto:
Kwankwaso’s move to ADC will strengthen PO’s bid for the ticket because he brings delegates from Kano and immediate environs, which he could collapse to PO before the convention, or use them to hold off Atiku from clinching the ticket, so he can run as VP to PO

The people that destroyed some of the buses during riots and supported others to do the same are rhe same people crying about bus shortage.
You left your village to come to Lagos to burn public busses and now you are crying that there is shortage of busses.
Asinine illogical clowns 🤡.
Whenever you want to riot or start your revolution, go back home and and start with your leaders.
Qe the truth sons of Lagos can take care of out own leaders.
The question is , are you a true son of Lagos or someone who has consciously lost his origins just so he can claim another man's land and rule over them just like the iragbiji man and his boys are doing.

There is no backfiring that I can think of. A sitting President was not able to use the police to stop himself from being removed via the ballot box so there is nothing at all to fear. Not only state and local government police but all licensed security companies should be allowed to bear high caliber weapons. Any group not supporting this obviously have a sinister motive
I won’t explain further because it seems that certain sections of some people’s brains have gone on sabbatical leave till 2027 or possibly 2031. About support, regional policing is better than state police for the Nigerian context, aside compromise of neutrality, too many subdivisions create room for higher overhead costs and chaotic coordination of the entire policing network between all states.
Are you prepared for cases like “this man is wanted by police in X state or the EFCC but Y state’s police says they can’t locate / provide him meanwhile they are currently offering him security escort services” We all saw what Ododo did for Yahaya Bello so paint the remaining part of the picture

The way you e-rats spin tales from rather dry or stale news deserves recognition. Jobless lots.

You turn almost every thing to a praise singing opportunity. Is the pay that good.

PoliticsRe: Ndi Igbo Worldwide Union Rejects State Police, Backs Regional Policing by chigator2: 1:46pm On Mar 08
lawani:
State and local government police is the best. If you say people should police their own communities then why are you against state and local government police? Many regions don't even have people speaking the same language and are therefore not the same cultural community. There is a need to stop playing politics with security. The position of this group is not credible. I hear it is the same position of IPOB
Having state police is progressive but knowing what we know about Nigerian politicians it will backfire seriously.
State police will become the governor’s own militia or form a wing of the ruling political party in the state.
Some things take maturing. You give a boy a real car, if he wants to drive something so badly let him have a toy car, in due time he will grow to have a car.

Kemetian:
You are among those who were saying Iran would be smashed in one minute by America.

So you're clearly not credible. wink
What you lots don’t understand is that Israel and US are operating with restraint in order not to lose popular appeal so they are avoiding bombing civilians. But Iran is sending volleys of missile into civilian areas.

If US decides to wipe out a small town, Iran will reconsider or maybe not, the regime doesn’t care about the populace rather they will use it fuel their propaganda but they doing the same in to Israel and neighbouring Arab countries

CelebritiesRe: Outrage As Simi’s 2012 Post ‘Sexualising’ Four-Year-Old Boy Resurfaces Online by chigator2:
Omo, werey la finwo werey no wonder she was so aggressive about sexual abuse; she was battling her subconscious.

I know why I haven’t had a social media account with my real identity in years. The posts you make today and forget about can resurface tomorrow in an ugly narrative. You might have changed, moved on, developed new opinions; but your brain has forgotten those posts even exist. In some cases, people lose access to their accounts, and their dirty linen stays online forever.

In 2015 -17, at the height of social media battles sparked by European statistics on population and religious shifts due to migration by those people who are never comfortable in countries where their religion is practiced, I was vicious. I was on every YouTube video, Facebook post, and Twitter thread, debating ideas, theology, and trading insults, all with my real account grin. Naive of me. These people tracked my family members, sent threat messages, attempted hacks, and dug up personal details like business address from public CAC listings. No one had to tell me to delete every account tied to my identity. I went ghost mode and became incognito.
That experience taught me hard lessons. Today, my anonymous accounts, the ones where I still drill truths into stubborn skulls like helinues, are all registered with numbers and emails that aren’t personally linked to me. Don’t ask how.

Hydrogen sulphide, high probablity given the foul odour and colorless release.

The landowner should invite qualified prospectors to assess the presence of crude oil. If oil is found, the resource can be monetized appropriately, and the families of the well diggers should be fairly and adequately compensated.
