Disconnect your battery for about 30 minutes, this should reset your ecu..

Start vehicle and drive until check light comes on, then run a scan.. This will reveal the exact faulty codes..

DON'T throw money on any part yet.

You can test if your coil packs and wires are still good with a multimeter.

pragmatistm: Ok. I have got some ideas on testing the CKP sensor. I will test it. But I think a bad CKP will not prevent the kick started from rolling at all. Or what do you think?

Is your car cranking @ all.. If not, attend to your kick starter first

Try starting the car with ignition in ON, from the kick starter relay located in the fuse-box.

That way you can confirm if your kick-starter is ok..

If your car cranks and doesn't start, u might be dealing with a bad ckp sensor..

Was there anytime your car used to trip off in motion, or refuse to start after a long drive, but later start when allowed to cool

Have you tested your crank position sensor with a multimeter set on ac mode for a pulsating signal

Pls do that, to rule out your ckp sensor as culprit for no start .


In most cases, when the ckp fails, it doesn't throw up and dtc.

Try to connect your scanner to another mk3.. If it reads it? Then your obd2 port is the likely culprit.

If it doesn't, then its likely that the scanner isn't specific for your mk3...
