But you can always know your Mileage unit by checking the outer unit of measurement on your speedometer.

If the outer reading is in km/hr, then the odometer will be in km, and vice versa.

Hmmm. na wa o. Some one has also told me that the only problem with the car is that it's too "electronics" but I don't want to spend more than 1m on a car for now. The hyundai will give me some change but the Dodge is a bit above that amount.

Any advice on the Dodge? Or what car would you recommend for first? Basically, I offer services to firms and I just need a ride to shuttle around for meetings and other appointments but I no want camry o .

Haba, so you are looking for a fuel economy car+Lil luxury...

Hyundai xg 350, is a mid size luxury sedan, + fuel guzzler...16/22mpg

Don't know much about dodge, perhaps those who do should Turnup, or you check online forums.

Its best if you decide the vehicle you want to use, personally, cos that way, there will be the zeal and tenacity to attend to her properly.

That said, you should be looking for a 1.8-2.0L i-4 engine or 2.4L V6 engine, at least for now..

So, start searching......

Guy, that engine never dies.

But

The engine control unit ECU, The computer that controls all the engines activities is very unforgiving.

There are several sensors on that car, all sending signals to the ECU.

Any fault with one sensor, the whole system wil kolo..

There is nothing you won't experience...


The most unforgiving act, is when you disconnect the battery terminal

Chai!!! For days, your car will be in a vegetative state..

The ECU, will just be sending wrong output signals and the car won't run fine...

If you must own that car, u must be strong willed..

I can say its the most electrical car for its production year..


Its not a car, you will just open bonnet, and start touching stuffs.. You will be punished..

Common problems are with the EGR valve, Maf sensor and MAP sensor.

Good side, is this car is swift. Has a very silent engine. Transmission is smooth.(5- gear auto+manual)


If you must own one here are the terms :

. Make sure you buy one with low mileage.

. Make sure the ECU is the right one.

. Make sure there is no cel light on.

. Make sure the thermostat is in place.

. Buy a scanner too.

. If you must replace any part, purchase OEM with matching part no, else it WONT work.

If you can meet these terms, you are good to go.

Never allow anybody open your bonnet to touch anything..

Before you touch anything, plug your scanner and confirm.

NEVER DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY..

I have not driven a ford before but I currently drive a quest and I so luv the ride. For a V6, the fuel consumption of the quest is ok for me (24mpg). One full tank of fuel gets me from Lagos to Owerri.

So I buy it NEW, and do it my way..

I will pick a 2014 kia rio..

The cost of a 2012 range will buy @ least 4 brand new kia rio..

So for the next 5 years I won't bother my life with car issues...

The expenses on a used range rover for the next 5 years will run into millions of naira, which can be invested into something productive.

By 5 years time, if I still want a range rover, I can buy a new one. And use it until it starts questioning my peace of mind.

But am certain if I get d RANGE Rover NEW, it will serve me forever..




I love luxury, proud and gadgets stuffed rides, but I can't afford to spend on a known liability during my years of use.


NEW and USED don't mean the same...

Peace of mind is all I crave for.. No car will kill me

don't mind those people who think Dana motors give genuine warranties. Those indians, koreans, chinese and lebanese are insincere. Imagine sometime ago before the Tsunami Nairaland which wiped off lots of data, a fella got a front end damage in his Kia (either a cerato or rio model) and dana motors gave a huge bill of approx 1.X million Naira. Surprisingly, that car wasn't up to 2 years it got me wondering where is the much talked about warranty. Siena had to detail on items to fix/replace and the owner said he's going off to an independent garage to fix his kia.

I remember that particular incidence

He had an accident with his 2013 kia rio without airbags..

He survived to tell the story..

Now, will you blame kia for the accident

Now he took same vehicle back to dana and the billed him a large sum, to repair the vehicle with OEM parts...

What's the biggie there?

Am sure that fellow is enjoying his ride, even today..

Even without airbags, so long the kia rio is brand new I'll buy it over an rx300 2003 with a million airbags.

Has any V.I.O or F.R.S.C officer harassed you that your car is not fitted with air bags

If one is going to die from an accident, not even the most powerful airbag will save him.

Nairaland reported how a government official lost his life in his BMW x6 2012 or so, sometime ago

#team 2014 kia rio over 2003 lexus rx300 whose parts are worn off.

I buy my 2014 kia rio, use for 4-5 years without complains...

My brother was happy when he initially got her but after that mechanical issue,kia or any other korean brand doesn't wow him again. Don't get me wrong chillex8,brand new vehicles are sweet but it depends on which of them compared to a Used vehicle.

Brand new kia rio is sweeter than lexus rx300 2003..

Its unacceptable to compare NEW to USED... They don't mean the same thing..
