Please who knows how to overcome this issues

1. You must have at least 50MB data balance after you share eg if you have 150 MB left, you can only share 100MB
2. You cannot share more than 10 times in a month irrespective of the data amount you share

The business don cast for small time resselers due to share policy.
If you want to purchase directly from thr data providers, you need strike a deal with them nd it doesn't come cheap.

Seems MTN sme data price remains the same.
Other networks have jacked up there prices and that is why MTN, no matter there bull shit, will still stay on top.

Short answer... NO

sme data is the only available option.
If you can share only 10 times and assuming you can share up to 5GB at a time which is highly unlikely, you have only 50GB to share.
The closest data bundle is 40GB for ₦11,000 which is not an option if you have profit in mind.

I don't know what MTN stands to gain from this new policy.

They're at it again.
MTN need to be probed. In the website, MTN.NG, they said that existing bundles (i.e bundles before 31st October) are exempted from the new rule of 10times per month.

But, they just suspended my sim I subbed in September. Saying I have reached the maximum of 10 shares per month.
My people, is that not deceiving the public and misleading customers?
We really need to fire them on social media and also get the right authorities, to call them to order.

I'm not surprised.
I completely stopped data sharing when I noticed the inconsistent policy in the data plan.
Today they will allow it, tomorrow they will not allow it.

I'm not trying to discourage you but this is a lost battle.
Back to using sme data.

Globacom reportedly will appoint Ahmad Farroukh, a former CEO of MTN Nigeria, as its new chief executive. The change would mark the first time for Globacom, as Mike Adenuga has led the company since its launch in August 2003.

Look at Glo that gave MTN a run for their money is now struggling like 9mobile.

Imagine that a combination of Glo and 9mobile will not give you Airtel.

Well not shocking for me.
This was going to happen since they continued taking network quality for granted.

According to the available industry subscriber figures available, in May 2024, Globacom lost 66% of the subscribers it had in the previous month of April 2024.

That 66% loss translated to a steep drop from 62 million subscribers in April to 21 million active subscribers in May. And it has kept losing more subscribers since then till the most recent industry records from September 2024.

Here is how the four big telcos in Nigeria stand in terms of active subscribers as at September 2024.

MTN: 78 million subscribers
Airtel: 53 million subscribers
Globacom: 19 million subscribers
9mobile: 3.6 million subscribers
While all of the network operators lost some subscribers to the NIN-SIM registration exercise, Glo has lost such a huge number that its situation is not just a result of NIN-SIM issues.

It seems it is only 10 shares you can make irrespective of the amount you share each time.
But if you are sharing exactly 5GB per day, then yes, 50GB is possible per month.

You can only make a total of 10 shares per month.

This applies to new subscribed bundles.
Means when you exhaust your present data bundle, the new policy will apply.

Walahi, This sharing issue just disrupted my activities.
I have a feeling that major data sellers are behind this as people were not patronising them any more.

The update was too impromptu and very unfair. Indeed, it's a breach of contract. If you know how to get the right authorities, please share. At least, let the effective start like in a month time.

Not just a month but when ever your current plan expires.
That is the right step to take in a normal situation and country.

"Dear Customer, an update has been made to MTN Data Transfer service, starting from 11th Oct 2024 you will have a maximum of 10 Data shares in a month. SME Data exempted. Thank you for choosing MTN"

This is still a breach because you cannot change a term of service while it is still running.
The correct thing still remains for the existing subscription to end before implementating a new term of service.

This will not stand.

Image I buy 400GB to share to my team, you now limit me to 5GB times 10 times abi which is 50GB
I will be left with 350GB that I don't need

The download stated is to download the profile.

I will state it again. E-sim is not downloaded like an app if not every phone can download it.
You phone has to be compatible first of all, then you meet your carrier and finally you download your profile.

That is what download in this regard means.

Please do an extensive google search on this and be informed.

Surprisingly MTN has not stated that sharing has been restored officially.

I think it better just to avoid the controversial bundles till further notice...

The normal thing is to re-subscribe but MTN people are not normal.

Call 5 customer care agents on this matter and they will give you 5 different responses

The wisest thing they should have done is to allow the existing data subscribers to exhaust their plan and afterwards they can do whatever they want.

However MTN is not wise.
