AMAKA

My palms were sweating but ironically the weather was cold. I stared at the name tag on the door at my front, Prof. Iyagba Elijah.

I took a deep breath and knocked.

“Come in,” I vaguely heard and I turned the handle of the door.

I stood close to the door and watched in silence as Agabya acted like no one just entered his office. He was marking some scripts, I cleared my throat to get his attention but he still ignored me.

“Excuse me Sir,” I voiced out.

“Sit down Miss Okafor and keep quiet.” He said monotonously. I slowly walked to the chair at the other side of his desk and sat down.

He marked a few more scripts making me grow more anxious and about 20 minutes later he finally dropped his pen and packed up his scripts.

“You have a very poor attendance record Miss Okafor and you did woefully in your previous test,” he started to say, “I’m going to be very blunt with you, you are going to fail my course and do you know what happens when you fail?”

“Yes sir,” I replied, evidently unnerved.

“What happens?” he asked.

“I’ll carryover the course.”

He laughed, “No, Miss Okafor you are wrong you would rewrite the course because you obviously can’t waive it but that’s for students who don’t try to outsmart me by sneaking into my class, thus taking me for a fool, he said.

“I’m so sorry sit, I don’t know what really came over me it’ll never happen again,” I pleaded

“Stop begging, it’s no use now, you’re going to fail my course this year and you’re going to rewrite it 5 good times before I give you an E.”

I swallowed my pride and fell on my knees “Ah sir, I swear to God it won’t happen again… I’m sorry sir… Please Sir…. Don’t do this to me Sir…” I cried, saying sir over a million times.

“Don’t cry, you made your decision yourself when you decided to sneak into my class”

“I’m sorry sir, please give me another chance,” I kept on pleading.

He kept quiet, staring at me in silence for a while. Then finally he cut in, “How desperately do you want to pass,” He asked

“I’m very desperate sir”

“I can give you immunity in this school. You can pass my course with an A and have no problem ever again in this school, but you have to earn it.”

I became interested and a little bit relieved, “Anything you say I should do I will do so.”
“Anything?” He asked.

“Yes anything” I hastily replied

“Alright, take this,” he said, handing over to me a card, “meet me at this place 6pm tomorrow. You can leave now”.

“What’s happening he…?” I tried to ask.

“Miss Okafor, I said you can leave now” He said firmly this time.

I stood up and left his office after taking a quick glance at the card. The card read;

MAXWELL

I wore a new shirt, changed my shoes, sprayed deodorant and that was it. I was in party mode.
The ladies insisted we dropped by their house before I took them to my house so that they could pick some clothes. By the time I was ready the ladies had changed into different outfits

Jessica had a black bum short that laid emphasis on her backside and a green colored sleeveless top to match. I don’t know how she pulled it off but her Nike kicks matched perfectly. Tonia on the other hand didn’t have to try too hard to look sexy. She had on leather leggings and a tank top to match. Her heels almost made her twice as tall as she was supposed to be, I just couldn’t wait to see her dance in those heels, she was bound to break her ankles if she tried.

Henry was the one who delayed us; he had picked his phone call then went to the balcony where he talked for a while before he started dressing. He simply wore a black jean and a brown Ralph Lauren polo shirt with a Ralph Lauren polo shoe to match. He obviously loved the brand.

When everybody was set to go, I picked up the car keys. There was no way I was going to enter public transport with such beauties so I borrowed a friend’s car and with that we were out.

I drove for roughly 30 minutes before I parked at the front of a building with a very similar structure to that of hosanna lodge from the exterior view only that it was painted light brown. Henry was strangely quiet all through the drive I wondered if it had anything to do with the call he received, I made a mental note to ask him about it later.

The music which emanated from within the building only reassured me of how much fun the night was going to be. We all stepped out of the car and walked to the gate paired in two’s. I was tagged with Jessica while Henry was paired with Tonia.
“Where is your IV,” the bouncer asker. He was cladded in all black and he made my regular visits to the gym feel like a waste. Henry smiled, I was sure he was thinking the same thing.

“We don’t really have an IV but the celebrant personally invited me,” I replied.

“Sorry but no ticket, no entrance, those are the rules,”

“How we wan come take do am now?” I asked him.

“You fit call the celebrant on phone make him come pick una, just pray say hin dey with e phone because it’s crazy in there,” He suggested skillfully mixing pidgin English and proper English.

“Alright,” I said and quickly dialed the celebrant phone number; luckily he picked up on the third ring and shortly appeared at the gate.

“Hey!!! Mr. Max!!!” the celebrant shouted as soon as he sighted me. He was on all white; long sleeves, jeans, addidas shoes and two gold chains round his neck. He sure looked good and rich.

“Ray J baba how far na?” I replied, trying to sound as excited as him.

“Captain abeg allow them enter,” he said to the bouncer who quickly moved to the side.

“How far na, abeg no vex say Captain do you like that.” He apologized.

“No worry jhur, the guy just dey do hin job.”

“Correct guy. So how far you na, you no wan introduce me to all this fine babes?”

“No vex my guy, this is Jessica and Tonia,” I said pointing at the respective lady.

“Hi ladies, I’m Raymond. It’s an honor to have you guys here,” he said as he bowed and attempted to kiss the back of Tonia’s palm in a polite gesture but Henry suddenly stopped his hands in mid air and pushed the away.

“You be that kain man?” he asked with a grin, “you no wan know who I be but you wan use idea snatch my babe, na so e dey happen for this arena?”

Raymond laughed. “Chairman no vex abeg, no be my fault. Your babe too set, I forget say I no even know your name.”

“Henry,” Henry simply said and took Raymond hands into his.

“Okay, enough of the talks, let’s go inside,” Raymond said and led us to the back of his flat.

A couple of guys and a few girls filled the backyard, all paired in groups of twos and threes, they were all smoking. Raymond picked up a tray filled with weed and handed it over to me, a pack of rolling papers was also in the tray.

“You still sabi wrap abi?” he asked, thus putting me in a tight corner.

You see, I don’t exactly smoke… or at least I’m trying to stop, the thing is you just don’t decide to stop such habits with the snap of a finger, it takes time and I still smoke casually at parties and special occasions, but I sure still know how to wrap. Now the problem is most people who don’t smoke, don’t like smokers, especially girls, but girls who smoke happen to like guys who smoke and it makes it easier to woo them. The question that was on my mind now was what’s Jessica’s stand on smoking? I could risk taking the tray and start wrapping and Jessica would be all excited therefore increasing my chances with her or she could get very angry and kill all my chances of having anything with her.

“I don’t smoke anymore,” I decided not to risk it.

Raymond look was blank. He turned to Henry, “interested sir?”

Henry is an I-no-send-you kind of guy so he gladly took the tray from my hands in response.

Raymond passed him a chair and he sat on it, pulling Tonia onto his laps.

Suddenly a girl on blonde wig came over and whispered some stuffs into Raymond’s ear, he nodded and excused himself after urging us to have fun.

“Shall we?” I asked Jessica. She nodded and slid her arm into mine as we walked into the house. I sighted the bar and without even observing the environment I hastily walked towards it.

Alcohol, a hot girl and good music, what more could I ask for?

TO BE CONTINUED

PS: Although it’s not entirely my fault, I know I’ve been fucking up that’s why I made this post quite long. I hope it is worth the wait.

FUNMI

I am a good girl. A very good girl, problem is I know too many bad things and I’ve done quite a few myself irrespective of my dad’s over protectiveness

I got home from the hospital really tired with thoughts of Maxwell on mind. I don’t usually think about guys and I've never had any reason to as I had only loved once and it ended with dad sending the innocent boy to prison, but I had had a little fun every once in a while and had met lots of people along the way.

One of those people happens to be Ayo

She’s obviously female and unlike me, has never been restrained. We attended the same secondary school and she taught me a few “things”. Dad had only let visit me at home because she was female and he probably assumed nothing could go wrong so she became a family friend.

Well, that was why I wasn't exactly surprised when I saw her sitting at the front of my door on a big bag.

“Hey Funmi,” she said.

Judging from her bag size she was going to be around for a while.

HENRY

The painting in room 35 of Hosanna lodge was quite different from the regular paintings you find around. It was the painting of a leaf, a single leaf. Cannabis Sativa, the scientists call it.

I personally had it drawn by Susan, one of my exes like that who wouldn’t have become an ex if she had not started to nag. She was sexy and rugged- just the way I like my girls but she started complaining about literally everything I did, I got tired and cut her off. The story is actually more complex than that but let me not bore you with the past and tell you about the present.

Tonia blue eyes were obviously her most prized assets, one look at her and you’ll be held spell bound by them. Not saying her ass and other “assets” aren’t nice cause they are but there’s just something about those eyes.

“Hey Tonia,” I broke the silence, “in my defense, I was going to call you pretty soon, I just had my hands filled at the moment.”

“Yea right,” Tonia replied sarcastically.

“Don’t mind him, Jessica said, that’s how guys are. Remember one guy I gave my number last week, he said he’ll call me when he got home and up till now he still hasn’t called me.” She added with a regretful tone.

“Maybe he is homeless,” Maxwell wistfully said and his statement amounted to a round of uncontrollable laughter.

“You are not serious,” Jessica finally replied.

“Of course, I’m only kidding,” Maxwell said to Jessica then turned to Tonia, “ anyway, since you both know each other already, I guess tonight might be fun after all since Tonia is now with someone FAMILIAR,” he emphasized on the word ‘familiar’ in a suspicious way staring deeply into my eyes, I had no idea what was on his mind but returned the stare just for the fun of it.

“hello! We are still here,” Jessica snapped, waving her hands in the air in a funny way, “remember us? Jessica and Antonia?”

Maxwell suddenly started laughing and everyone joined, the tension seem to have subsided.

“alright, seriously ladies, I’m not going to let you girls leave this house till we play a game,” Maxwell said.

“which game?” Jessica asked.

“just a game to get to know ourselves better.” He replied and gave me the ‘go and switch on the generator’ look while he went to the kitchen. We have lived together for years so we really didn’t have to say everything out loud, we understood ourselves quite well.

By the time I had switched on the generator and returned to the room, I saw all three of them sitting on the floor in a circle. A filled bottle of vodka, a disposable cup and an empty coca-cola bottle was beside Maxwell. I gave him a knowingly smile.

I went to where we mounted the home theatre and plugged the auxiliary cord to my phone and selected J’cole 2014 Forest Hill Drive album to give the right atmosphere. I furthermore went ahead to switche of the main light bulb and turned on the disco bulb. Don’t bother yourself wondering why we had the disco bulb, there’s a story behind it but let’s leave that story for another day.

When I was through, I joined them on the floor.

“so here’s how the game works,” Maxwell started to say, “we spin the coke bottle clockwise at intervals, whoever the bottle points at get to ask the person who spin the bottle a question or dare him to something. If the person can’t do the dare or answer the question, the person drinks. It’s that simple.”

“I don’t drink,” Tonia said.

“oh! Come on Antonia, don’t be such a kill joy, just try to have fun even if it’s just for tonight,” Jessica urged.

“she’s right Tonia, the game would be fun, trust me,” Maxwell winked.

“yuck!!!” Tonia blurted and we all busted into another laugh frenzy.

“but seriously though, the game would be no fun if you don’t play,” I said and just like magic, she finally agreed to play on the condition that she drank half the regular quantity of vodka, half was more than enough so we agreed and the game started.
Maxwell spins the coke bottle and after spinning for a while it stopped, pointed at Jessica.

“I dare you to remove your shirt,” she hastily said as if she had been expecting the bottle to spin in favour of her.

He removed his shirt and in one quick movement tossed it on the bed… show off.

“Impressive,” Jessica hummed. Maxwell winked at her; he was getting ‘some’ tonight.

Maxwell works out. You know all those people actually subscribe to gyms and still have dumbbell at home? That’s Maxwell. So he has a nice physique compared to me. I silently prayed no one would ask me to remove my shirt too, wouldn’t be a nice scene.

I took the coke bottle and span it and unfortunately for me, it stopped at Jessica again. Oh lord.

“yaay!!! I’m on a roll,” Jessica screamed, “I dare you to err…” she started to say then paused as her eyes wandered, she turned to Tonia and a sinister smile appeared on her face, “I dare you to show Tonia your ass.”

I laughed. “Please pass me the vodka,” I said without any argument. There was no way I was going to show Tonia my ass unless on a more special condition.”

While I drank, Jessica span the bottle and it stopped at Maxwell.

“I dare you to kiss me,” Maxwell said excitedly. The joy in his eyes was unexplainable.

I passed the bottle to Jessica but surprisingly she ignored it and went over to Maxwell’s side, sat down and slid her tongue into his mouth, a few slurping sounds followed and she was back in her position. Still in shock and thinking of what to say, Tonia picked the coke bottle and of course it stopped at me.

“Are you a virgin? “ I asked, I knew daring her would be a waste of time considering the evil dares I had in mind.

“Yes,” she replied and passed the coke bottle to Maxwell. He was reluctant to take it at first as he either didn’t believe her or was surprised. He eventually took and the game continued.

He span the bottle and it stopped at Tonia.

“I dare you to show me your boobs!” Maxwell hastily said and we all started laughing.

“I thought I’m the one to ask or dare here,” she replied grinning. “I dare you to remove you jeans.”

“It’s not fair oh, nobody has dared you and see the kind of evil dare you are daring me,” Maxwell complained.

“Do it or drink,” Tonia replied looking uninterested in his excuse.

He did it, leaving him with just his boxer’s shorts. From that moment onward the game got more serious with everyone doing crazy stuffs, losing piece of clothing’s and drinking several cups, Tonia drank more though. Got to a point she actually started doing the dares as the vodka started taking effect and boosted her confidence.

The game only ended when my phone started ringing, therefore interrupting the music and cooling down the atmosphere. Maxwell looked at his wrist watch and announced it was 10pm, time for partying.

I on the other hand went to check my phone and saw the name Mary-Anne on the screen.

I sighed, unplugged the auxiliary cord and picked the call as I went to the balcony, “hello,” I said.

PREVIOUSLY ON WHY I WANT TO BE BAD

AMAKA

So in our last class we were talking about..." Agbaya started to say but paused as his eyes crossed my path. "Stand up!

"Oh lord, help me,"

"Miss Okafor, what’s your matric number!"

"0632092."

"Good, see me at my office after the class," he said, "sit down Miss Okafor,"

HENRY

"There’s a small problem."

"What’s the problem?"

"I'm really enjoying this conversation and would like to continue but I'll soon get to my bus stop."

"Oh! Give me your phone,"

"What’s your name by the way?"

"Tonia."

MAXWELL

“Hi Becky."

"I was so busy all week that I forgot to do the assignment and a little bird told me you have copies of the assignment."

"I'll give you this for free on one condition?" I said, thinking about her like a good friend and also wanting to torment her a little. "There's this small fellowship meeting I'm to attend tomorrow and I'm meant to bring someone, I want you to go with me." I smiled

. "I'm Jessica," light skinned replied, "and my friend here is Antonia."

“Do you ladies like to party?"

Yes!"

"I can't take two girls to a party just like that; I'll like to take you girls to my house so we can meet the fourth wheel."

"Alright, we'll be free but let me talk to Tonia first, you've seen how protective she is, such a kill joy."

Ladies, meet my roommate, Henry."

“We’ve met already."

AND NOW

The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.
-Mark Twain

MARY-ANNE

I could hear voices, two voices, I couldn’t exactly hear what they were saying as I was barely conscious but I could make out the voices belonged to two females. I struggled to open my eyes so that I could see the ladies but it seemed my eyelids had developed a mind of theirs as they refused to open despite my efforts.

As I strived to listen to what the ladies were saying, I suddenly heard a name that rang a bell. Mary-Anne but I couldn’t exactly remember who owned the name, so I listened more hoping they would mention it again. They did.

“The name of the patient na Mary-Anne,” one of the ladies said. I could hear they clearly now.

“Wetin do am?” I heard the other lady ask.

“na all this evil hit and run driver wey jam am oh. Nah her boyfriend and hin friends rush am come, doctor talk say she for die if to say them been waste pass five minutes.”

“hope say she no get any serious complication sha?”

“e no too serious sha, doctor talk say she fit they forget some kind thing from time to time sha.”

“As in amnesia?”

As I heard the word ‘amnesia’, I felt a sudden rush of memories that almost knocked me out; I clenched my fist as I remembered everything. I had to call Henry and confirm a couple of things immediately but decided to let the ladies leave first as I didn’t want much attention.

“yes, partial amnesia, apart from that she wasn’t harmed.” The ladies continued.

“na God save am be that oh.”

“abi oh, anyway make I go sweep the other ward, I wan rush finish my work so I go fit go house go prepare food for my husband,” one of the ladies said and a few footsteps followed. Shortly afterwards the room was silent.

I gained back control of my eyelids and opened them. One quick glance at the cabinet by my side and I sighted my phone, I stretched and grabbed it, holding button 3 and Henry number automatically got speed dialed.

“hello,” the voice from the other end of the call said.

Okay, now I think I have to clarify something that I didn't quite clarify through the story.

Firstly, the assignment is not the regular type of assignment where the lecturer just gives the whole class same question and expect same answer. Its drafted in such a way that each student is expected to have unique questions that only him/she can have.

How this was done? He simply used a text book with multiple exercise questions after each chapter. The first person question would be Chapter 1, questions 1 - 5 while the second person question would be Chapter 1, questions 2 - 6 and the third person would be questions 3 - 7 and so on. Now, I know that there are going to be repetition of questions, but its safe to say that one can't just photocopy another copy (Ritababe, this answers your question).

Mummyobama, to reply your observations. 1. Yes, its just assignments but if you've been through the university I'm sure you'll know certain assignments are not to be joked with. Its just an assignment but from the hype, you should know that it carries lots of marks.

People pay for assignments on a daily basis and I only wrote the scene where Becky who is a runs girl and a very old friend of Maxwell agreed to go to church with him. Being a runs girl, she is used to using her body to get what she wants so its only safe to assume she just tried seducing him to get the assignment. I also said I turned down all the other girls meaning there are no sexual favours.

Accepting to give Jessica and Tonia a copy of the assignment is just because Maxwell needed "fresh blood" and a distraction.

@oghenekome - well, that's the whole point of going front and back... Just for you guys to get the whole picture.

@ptrippleab - I really found your comment quite offensive. "Hey nigger am sick of the way u update come on bro do something. I love this pieces". I know you meant no offence but you sounded really rude.

@maayree, stuff46, vin, sexysapphire, babieghagha, toykathy etc... I see you guys.

You guys know I'll type and update if I had the time but sadly I'm back to school and time is not really my friend anymore. I could rush updates and write total unrealistic and un-researched crap but I like the fact that you all are seeing the efforts I put in this work to make it as real as I can so be patient with me, the updates would still come in fairly regularly.

Anyway, I started an update yesterday that I'll finish today and update... Its going to be worth the wait.

Good morning and Jah Bless.

MAXWELL

We all manage stress differently. Some people pray, some people drink, some people smoke, some people simply sleep, some find feminine distractions while other pray and find feminine distraction and that's the category I fall into.

I'll never admit this again but yes! I'm a playboy, a damn good one for that matter and I think the best way to clear your head from female problems and their wahala is look for fresh bloods.

Its with this mentality I left the house after getting home prior leaving Mary-anne in the hospital.

I had a 10am lecture and being a hardcore hustler and the course-rep of the department with the freshest, richest and laziest boys, I had to get to school early since the lecturer had given us an assignment and knowing they won't do it, I had taken time out to do it for them all with the intention of selling it to them at ridiculously high prices. Its just business.

Anyway, just as expected, they all hadn't done it and as soon as I got to school, my phone started buzzing with text messages and calls, I calmly transacted my business with them all and before 10am when the lecturer arrived I had almost fifty thousand naira in my wallet and they had a B graded assignment in their possession.... Good business, don't you think?

But that's just how I run my business with the guys, the females business on the other hand comes in a whole new pattern.

The rich girls and those with rich boyfriends come and buy the assignment with money while others come and try to use other "things" to buy the assignment leaving me with a very interesting wide range of desperate females to pick from.

"Hi Max," the first girl with no cash came over to my desk and said. I looked up and saw that I knew her well enough as we had quite an interesting history. She had a striped corporate packet shirt tucked into a black skinny pair of jeans. She had obviously intentionally unbuttoned enough buttons to show me just enough cleavage to turn any guy on. She sure made a regular corporate outfit look very sexy.

"Hi Becky," I replied as I tried my best to avoid looking at her bo0bs.

"How was you night?" She asked and slid into the seat beside me with a wide smile, she knew exactly what she was doing to me and it was working.

I had a quick flash of how my night actually was with the whole Mary-anne drama and meeting Funmi at the church, there was no way I was going to tell her all of that, "fine." I replied plainly.

"So I have a tiny little problem," she said seductive and sneaked her hand on my laps under the table. "And I think you can solve it." She added.

"Really? What problem might that be?"

"I was so busy all week that I forgot to do the assignment and a little bird told me you have copies of the assignment," she said.

"Oh! That problem? You know its not free right?" I asked as I pulled her hands away from my laps, she was already crossing her boundary.

"Yes, I know but I'm not so gallant financially right now, can't you just do this for me free just this time?" She smiled.

"Eiyah, what happened to all the Alhaji and yahoo boys you've been bleeping recently na? Are the affected by the naira devaluation too?" I smirked. She was a runs girl and we both knew it so she technically the question was valid.

"Things aren't so good at the moment but you know me na, if I had I would have paid you twice the amount," she replied. Truth is I actually knew Becky and she wasn't joking when she said twice.

"Yea Becks," I replied. "You know what?"

"What?"

"I'll give you this for free on one condition?" I said, thinking about her like a good friend and also wanting to torment her a little. "There's this small fellowship meeting I'm to attend tomorrow and I'm meant to bring someone, I want you to go with me." I smiled.

"Anhan! Maxwell! You know I'm not a church person," she complained.

"That's my deal, take it or leave it," I replied and looked away.

"Its not fair oh," she lamented.

"Yea, I know, but you need Jesus in your life," I replied, "so do we have a deal or not?"

She thought about it for a second and then accepted.

I really planned on taking Becky to church but who says you can't mix religion with pleasure?

I gave her a copy of the assignment and watched her walk away with her big ass.

More females came with their different approaches and I turned most of them down until two new interesting faces I had never seen turned up at my desk. It was a combined class with the statistics department so I wasn't really surprised.

They were both very beautiful and really complimented their selves as while one was dark skinned, had green eyes and a gigantic ass, the other was light skinned with two really impressive twins on her chest.

"Hello, you are the Computer Science course rep right?" The light skinned one said.

"Errr... Yes, what's up?"

"Okay, we would be very direct with you,"the other girl started to say, "we didn't do the assignment and we know you are selling copies of it so how much is it?"

Straight to the point girls, my favourite and just the type of distraction I was looking for, I needed to play my cards well so I turned my game mode on.

"Who said I was selling copies?" I had an Emmy awards winning denial face on.

"A little bird told us," they both replied. I need to find this little bird and cut its mouth pretty soon, I thought. When running something illegal, its not cool when one big mouthed fool keeps on spreading the word, it could get to the hearing of the lecturer and then the story would be very different.

"Well, I'm sure this little bird of yours told you the price too," I replied.

"Yea, it she did," light skinned replied. She? So its a female, that narrows down my possibly list of suspects.

"So... What's the issue? Why are we still speaking too much grammar?"

"Okay, that's where we have a little problem," the cuter one with green eyes replied.

"And what might that problem be?" I asked grinning. Obviously they couldn't pay for the assignment meaning I was in total control of the transaction.

"We don't have up to that on us right now, isn't there anyway we could work things out?" Miss impressive boobs asked

"I don't even know your beautiful names to start with." I said, dropping my defences.

"I'm Jessica," light skinned replied, "and my friend here is Antonia."

"You both have really nice names, okay we could work something out," I replied without having any idea on my mind.

"Alright, that would be really nice, what do you have in mind?" Jessica asked smiling. I noticed Antonia didn't talk much.

I thought for a minute and then a light bulb lighted above my head.

"Do you ladies like to party?" I asked.

"Yes!." Jessica replied.

"No!" Antonia countered immediately.

"No? Yes? I'm lost here," I replied.

"What are you doing?" Jessica spat at Antonia.

"You don't know this guy and you want to go to a party with him just like that?" Antonia fired back.

"Err... Tonia, its okay I call you just Tonia right?" I asked.

"Yea.. I guess," she coldly replied.

"Its just a small birthday bash, nothing too serious, you shouldn't be scared," I tried to sound sweet and caring.

"At where?" She asked.

"Here in Yaba, at a friend's house."

She calmed down a little at the mention of Yaba, I guess she was scared of going too far.

"Tonia, we need this assignment," Jessica added convincingly.

"What time is this party?" Tonia asked.

"Its starts by 8pm and is actually all night but we can leave anytime we want to," I replied.

"Alright," Tonia replied. "I'm doing this just for the assignment."

"Then we have a deal?" I asked.

"Yea, sure." Jessica replied. I handed them over two copies of the assignments and just when they were about to leave I called Jessica back, "I don't know if you guys would be free after this class?"

"Why are you asking?"

"I can't take two girls to a party just like that, I'll like to take you girls to my house so we can meet the fourth wheel." I said having Henry in mind, he was going to be really glad.

"Alright, we'll be free but let me talk to Tonia first, you've seen how protective she is, such a kill joy." She said.

I smiled, I was already liking this Jessica girl. I had a feeling tonight would be another very interesting night.

AMAKA

Standing at the front of the lecture hall in his well fitted black suit with a green tie was Professor Iyagba.

"Stand up!" He had thundered. I knew if he had to repeat himself again or come over to pull me up I'll be in a lot more trouble so I reluctantly stood up murmuring a silent prayer to my God.

"I'm so sorry sir..." I said once I had stood up leaning slightly on the desk at my front.

"Would you stand up right!" He thundered once more. He sounded a lot louder this time, I felt a cold shiver run down my spine.

I did as told.

"What's your name?" He asked, finally reducing his tone by a notch.

"Amaka sir," I replied, visibly shaking. "I'm so sorry sir, it would never hap..."

"Shut up! What do you mean by you are sorry?" He cut in.

I heard someone giggle at the front of the hall only for me to look and see one small stupid boy that I refused to give my number some weeks back. He had approached me and had been so smooth that I almost gave him my phone number only for him to hand me a Blackberry Tour to type my number in. You can tell a lot about a person's financial status by the phone he uses and since I don't want broke boys in my life I snubbed him and rejected giving him my number... In summary, let's just say our meeting didn't end too well so him laughing now was understandable. I felt like removing his eyebrows but I fought the thought and gave him a scornful stare instead.

"I've been in the system for over twenty years!" Agbaya continued to say as he figured I had no reply for him. "How old are you self? Eighteen? Nineteen? Twenty? My youngest kid is married! You think I'm a fool?" He asked, leaving me wondering what sneaking into his class had to do with my age.

I kept quiet once more.

"The problem with most of you is you think you own the world because you are young and exist in a generation where there are lamps and generators, you don't know what it takes to spend all night reading under the moon light or if you are lucky, with candle stick...."

"I'm so sorry sir. I swear, it would never happen again sir," I said, saying sir for like the one millionth time.

"What's did you say your name is again?"

"Amaka, sir."

"Your surname is sir?" He asked and the whole hall roared in laughter. I felt so embarrassed but tried to conceal it.

"No sir, my surname is Okafor sir..." I said then noticed I had just done the 'sir' thing again, "Amaka Okafor," I corrected.

"Amaka Okafor? Are you a carry over student?"

Me? Carry over? God forbid! I wish you the same! I said in my mind but the realised he was a lecturer and couldn't get a carry over. I smiled at my foolishness.

"No sir," I replied out loud.

"What's your matric number?" He asked.

Now, the thing is when a lecturer ask for you matriculation number when you've clearly bleeped up, just know shiit just got real.

"Ah! Sir... I swear to God! I didn't mean to sneak into your class, it would never...."

"Oh! Shut up! Is that the answer to my question?" He asked. I noticed the slight increment in his tone.

"Sir..." I said, thinking of a perfect reply.

"Miss Okafor, your matric number!" He thundered so loud I can swear the pillars in the hall vibrated.

"0632092." I finally said directly of my head. As a student, matriculation number is one of those things you just have to know by heart.

"Good, see me at my office after the class," he said, "sit down miss Okafor," he added and then continued with his lecture acting like nothing just happened.

Collecting my matriculation number and then asking I see him at his office? This is not good at all, I thought.

I've heard stories about Agbaya having 'extreme' affairs with female students but it was hard to believe since he didn't look like the type considering the way he dresses, acts and of course, he has a wife.

It took like forever for his class to end but at last he said, "so that's all we have for today, remember I'll test you people on all we've learnt so far nothing more... So be prepared."

He left the class soon afterwards and I went after him not sure about what to expect.

I should have just obeyed all his instructions and maybe I won't have to see him at his office.

From frying pan to fire.

(continuation)

The world is so unpredictable. Things happen suddenly, unexpectedly. We want to feel we are in control of our own existence. In some ways we are, in some ways we're not. We are ruled by the forces of chance and coincidence - Paul Auster

HENRY

It was a bad day. I never knew that there was only sixty-three ceiling plates in the Nelson Mandela lecture hall until one of the lecturers thought it would be nice to give an impromptu test and me being the super attentive and serious student I was, had to chew my pen and count the ceiling plates all through the test.

As if that wasn't enough, one new recruit that was just "blended" a few days ago was a little excited and got into a huge problem with another fraternity, although I was able to save him at that very moment, I won't give too much details on this but just know that I have a gun and I'm not scared to use it. The problem now is I fear that I just started a cult war.

Anyway, it was about 5pm and my day was finally over, so going home was the next thing on the list.

I boarded a school shuttle to the main school gate and from there entered a bus which was supposed to drop me at my street junction.

Something quite interesting happened in the bus.

I was lucky enough to sit beside a very beautiful lady. It's rare to see a Yaba-tech girl on low cut and even if you see, they don't risk dyeing it and even if they dye it, it still doesn't fit them but the lady beside me was on low cut, she dyed it gold which compliment her light skin and saying the hairstyle fit her is an understatement. She killed it.

Judging from her complexion, her green eyes, hair style and all of that, she looked like a half-caste or even a total foreigner. A very beautiful one at that, I knew I just had to talk to her.

She was reading a book on her phone and after thinking about the best approach, I figured it would be best to use the book she was reading. Every smart girl likes a smart guy who knows a thing or two about books and thanks to Maxwell novel reading habit, I know a few things.

"What's the title?" I asked out loud, a little too loud if you ask me.

"Title of what?" She asked coldly.

"The book you are reading," I replied calmly, I wasn't really expecting a warm reply.

"A Song Of Ice and Fire," she replied without even blinking.

"That's the novel for Game of Thrones right?" I pushed persistently, "written by George. R. R. Martins?"

This time she paused to stare at me. Not everyone who has seen the Game of Thrones movie have an interest in the novel, let alone know who wrote it, I was sure I had impressed her.

Her green eyes quickly scrutinised me and then she spoke, "yea, written by G.R.R.M. Have you read the book?"

Now when you want to lie to a lady, you have to think really fast and try to keep your lie short and simple in such a way that more questions won't be asked because females know when a guy is lying to them ninety percent of the time.

"I have but I didn't really enjoy the book, his use of english was quite different from the regular one," I lied. I had never seen the book in my entire life but judging from the settings in the movie, I assumed the book would be quite complex.

"Yea, you have a point, George's english is not really plain in the novel." She agreed.

"Anyway, let's not talk much about books, let's talk about the most beautiful girl I've ever seen," I said trying to change the topic before she ask a question I won't be able to reply. Flattery always work, yet to see any girl that's immune to it.

"And who might that be?" She asked, visibly blushing.

"I don't know her name yet but she's the lady beside me right now." I said looking straight into her green eyes. She had really nice eyes by the way.

"Oh! I can see she's really beautiful," she replied looking past me at the woman on my other side. I laughed.

"True, the woman is beautiful," I said as I turned to look at the woman, "but I was referring to the most beautiful girl in the world."

"I really don't know who you are talking about," she replied as she closed the book she was reading and locked her phone, therefore giving me full attention. Like I said, flattery always works.

"Well, if you are going to keep up this act, I may as well just tell you who I'm referring to," I said, "I'm refereeing to you."

Being really light skinned I could easily see as he chick instantly turned pepper red.

"Oh!" She said in a fake surprised tone, "thank you."

"No need to thank me, I'm just stating the obvious."

"Well, I'll take that as a compliment."

"So are you a student at Yaba-tech or what?" I asked the question that's been on my mind.

"Yea, I am. How about you?"

"Sure, I am." I looked through the window and noticed we just drove pass a small company which manufactured plastic products. My smile was no more,"there's a small problem."

She rose an eyebrow, "what's the problem?"

"I'm really enjoying this our conversation and would like to continue but I'll soon get to my bus stop," I looked down at my feet sadly. It was all an act though.

"Oh! Give me your phone," she ordered.

I have two phones. An Iphone 5 which was a big deal before the Iphone 6 came and spoil market for me and a Nokia torchlight. I could have shown off and given her the Iphone but I gave her the Nokia torchlight phone. Girls like guys that are original or at least seem to be original.

She hesitated before taking the phone just as I had expected but took it anyway and punched her number into it.

I took it and then asked, "what's you name by the way?"

"Tonia."

I planned on giving her about a week before calling as I didn't want to rush things and besides I had been busy, little did I know she'll walk into my house barely two days later with Maxwell grabbing her waist like he owned her.

I did not like that at all.
