Things are not going well for Samsung. The company responsible for the infamous exploding Note 7 is now recalling a whopping 2.8 million of its top-loading washing machines, for… well, exploding.

Samsung and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission are recalling 2.8 million of Samsung’s top-loading washing machines after reports that 730 units exploded, resulting in nine injuries, the CPSC announced.

“We’re talking about a very serious hazard of the top of these washing machines completely blowing off,” Elliot Kaye, the chairman of the CPSC, told “GMA” Investigates in an interview that aired Friday on “GMA.” “It is a lot of reports.”

Kaye said the tops of the affected units weren’t “secured enough based on a....

Politics / Nigeria’s Most Gallant Soldier Killed By Boko Haram by chizgold80: 6:08pm On Nov 05, 2016
In a bid to save the lives of 180 million Nigerians under the terror and clutches of Boko Haram, one of Nigeria’s most gallant army officers once led a troop to recover Baga, a town that was once taken over by insurgents. But at what price?Well, Commanding Officer (CO) of 272 Task Force Tank Battalion, Lt-Col. Muhammad Abu Ali, and four soldiers had to sacrifice their lives.

The battle, which was occasioned by an attack on 119 Battalion located in Northern Borno State, also resulted in the killing of 14 suspected insurgents. It was really a sad day for the Nigerian Army as Col Abu Ali was riddled with bullets despite Buhari and his handlers having claimed to have technically defeated Boko Haram.

Muhammed Abu-Ali, a lieutenant colonel, died in an ambush laid for his troops by the terrorist Boko Haram sect, while fourteen Boko Haram insurgents and four other soldiers died in the attack, the army said.

Abu Ali, commanding officer of 272 Tank Battalion, is reputed as the army’s bravest commander and....

Politics / I Nearly Ran Away From Office-buhari by chizgold80: 10:58pm On Nov 03, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he almost abandoned his presidency because of the level of economic challenges facing the country. The president stated this on Thursday, November 3 when he received the Executive Course 38 participants of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to him, shortly after his inauguration, he felt like running away when he was confronted with the level of the nation’s economic problems inherited by his administration.

The president also lamented that despite unprecedented resources at the disposal of successive administrations since 1999, the nation has nothing to show.

President Buhari said: “For 16 years and eight consecutive governments of the other party, you know that there was unprecedented revenue realised. Oil production which can be verified was 2.1 million barrels per day.”

“Between 1999 and 2015, the average cost of each Nigerian barrel of oil was $100 per barrel. When we came it fell to less than $30 per barrel and is now hovering between $40 and $50.”

“Actually, I felt like absconding because 27 out of 36 states in Nigeria cannot....

A historic black church in Mississippi has been burnt down and spray-painted with “Vote Trump”.Authorities said on Wednesday it was arson which is being probed as a hate crime. This is coming just one week before the U.S. presidential election.

Greenville Fire Chief Ruben Brown Sr. told a news conference on Wednesday afternoon that investigators had determined the fire at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church was “intentionally set.”

“Samples and evidence have been collected from inside the church and are being analysed to determine the accelerant or ignition source,” Brown said.

Romance / The Other Room — By Barrister Felix by chizgold80: 3:56pm On Oct 24, 2016
In the other room
Hardened men become beggars
The queen, becomes the king too
The king, just a beggarly page

In the other room
We cry for joy
Beg to be injured
For through injuries, we enjoy pain

In the other room
We beg to suck milkless breasts
Accept every proposal
And promise anything

In the other room
The fate of nations are decided
Destinies of men fixed
Death warrants obtained

The other room!

What a room!
The other room
Where a woman pretends
To be weak
So that a man
Can believe he is strong
Where a woman pretends
To be foolish
So that a man
Can say he is wise
Where a woman stoops,
So that a man can conquer.

The other room
Where gods of men
Become worshippers of women
Where leaders of thought.........

Politics / End Of The Buhari Charade? A Wailing Wailer Rises In Aso Rock by chizgold80: 3:32pm On Oct 24, 2016
Immediately after the Buhari administration was inaugurated, one of his media aides, Femi Adesina coined the derogatory term “Wailing Wailers”, to describe those who criticize the president’s administration. Adesina’s efforts, far from being an innocent dig at critics, was a deep mockery of supporters of the past administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and a way of celebrating “their loss”. So the name has come to stay.

But not even Adesina would have believed at the time of the coinage that the ranks of the “Wailing Wailers” will grow to the extent that it has grown now.

President Buhari had come to power on the back of a strong media wave of support–especially social media– and they expected to continue to ride the waves. But several months after the inauguration of the administration, and none of the fantastical campaign promises had been delivered, instead the country went on a downward spiral. Consequently, many ardent supporters of Muhammadu Buhari began to realise that they were sold a lie.

The man they thought was the next best thing after Jesus Christ had turned out to be a well packaged scam sold to millions of people. In anger, many of the young social media activists who hitherto had fought to convince millions of others of Buhari’s messianic nature began to recant and join the ranks of the “Wailing Wailers” and with them, went their many disciples.

But that was not all; Buhari had made the fatal mistake of surrounding himself with clueless people, whose stock-in-trade is to lie blatantly. There was seldom any event or happening within the government that did not come with three different explanations! Nigerians suddenly began to have at least three official positions to any happening in the country! Worse still, those aides were not even trained liars! Their lies were the type that even my two year old daughter will never believe. It didn’t matter to them; they had to sell it somehow despite the fact that it affected people’s confidence in...

Politics / Amaechi Is A True Child Of God, He Can’t Bribe Judges – APC by chizgold80: 3:04pm On Oct 24, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari and the All progressives Congress, APC, have made a U-turn in defence of the Minister Of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on the recent bribe saga, saying the minister cannot offer bribe to any judge in the country to buy justice.

Speaking in Port Harcourt, on Saturday night, the APC State Secretary, Emeka Beke stated that Amaechi was a true worshipper of God and cannot intend to buy justice with money.

Earlier, there had been reports that there was an orchestrated plot to sack Amaechi and the Minister of Science and technology, Ogbonnaya Onu for allegedly attempting to bribe a justice of the Supreme Court.

While Justice Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court alleged that Amaechi begged him to pervert justice, by cancelling the Governorship election in Ekiti State, and order fresh election to favour his friend, Kayode Fayemi,
Justice Inyang Okoro alleged that Amaechi also attempted to bribe him, to influence the elections in Rivers, Abia, and Akwa Ibom States.

Similarly, Justice Ngwuta alleged that Dr. Onu, invited him to his house, and demanded that he influenced the outcome of the Governorship election appeal for Ebonyi State, in favour of the Labour Party candidate in the State, who had reportedly agreed to decamp to the APC.

While defending Amaechi, APC claimed that the minister has the fear of God and dismissed the allegations that Amaechi had met the two Supreme Court Judges to seek favour for APC governorship candidates in Rivers State and Akwa Ibom State as bias and baseless.....

Politics / Buhari Incurs The Wrath Of APC Over Ambassadorial Nomination by chizgold80: 2:51pm On Oct 24, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari has incurred the wrath of leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC over the choice of nominees for non-career ambassadors.

Recall that last week the senate moveed for the confirmation of the ambassadorial nominees sent in by the presidency.

Ikenga Chronicles learnt that most of the 23 APC governors are angry because their candidates for the ambassadorial posts were rejected by the Presidency. Governors, APC leaders and ministers, who are party leaders in many states, especially where the governing party is not in control, were sidelined in the appointments.

‘’Many of these APC bigwigs are contemplating dumping APC and forming a new party if this mess continues,’’ a source said.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s bid to have Prof. Julius Ihonvbere as Edo State nominee could not fly as the president opted for Uyagwe Igbe. It was the same situation in Osun State, as Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s nominee, Senator Mudasiru Hussein, did not make the list.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was this time lucky as the president conceded one of the two ambassadorial nominees – Prof. Mohammed G. Yisa – from Kwara State, to him. It was learnt that Vice- President Yemi Osinbajo was given only one out of the 46 ambassadorial slots submitted to the Senate for confirmation last week.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State confirmed the frustration of APC members over the appointment made so far by the president.

“Most members of the party feel that they have not been carried along. I know that many of them are complaining every day,” Okorocha stated in an interview with journalists last Sunday.

Politics / An 8-month Old Baby, EFCC And The Sins Of His Father — By Amako Nneji by chizgold80: 2:25pm On Oct 24, 2016
Whenever the Former Aviation Minister, Fani-Fayode coughs, President Muhammadu Buhari and his gang of cabals catch cold, so I was told by an insider who belongs to the kitchen and other rooms.

No thanks to Fani-Kayode’s piercing and penetrating articles which is like a cup of poison served every morning to His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

‘’But this monster of a man and his unborn generation must be phased out,” Buhari must have thought to himself after waking up from a troubled sleep.

Like the biblical Pharaoh, ‘’every male child in Israel must be cut off.’’ To Buhari, it must start with the 8-month old baby of Fani-Kayode who through his many write ups has devastated APC’s Kingdom.

When it comes to weaving words together to produce sentences, the likes of Femi Adesina, Garba Shehu and lying Lai Mohammed of this world are learners in comparison to Fani-Kayode.

Buhari, the born again democrat must have forgotten that he is now born again, so typical to his “old” self, he decided that ‘’ The sins of the fathers must come upon their children even onto the fourth generation.’’

‘’Magu come here,’’ Buhari ordered as the puppet appeared in the villa like lightening, ready to do the master’s bidding.

Apparently, Magu and his EFCC are now Buhari’s lap dogs that only bark when instructed to do so.

Just like the biblical Herod, the thought of another Fani-Kayode even though he is 8-months old is a threat to Buhari, and a kill order had to be issued.

But it seems that Buhari has a thing for visiting the “sins of the father on the son”.

Let me take you briefly on a historical excursion. Late Chief Dr Olusola Saraki, the father of the current Nigerian Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was a onetime Senate Committee leader in the 2nd Republic Senate between 1979-1983 that indicted Buhari over the missing $2.8billion from the Nigeria National Petroleum Cooperation, (NNPC).

In 1983, the Senate Committee of late Saraki Snr. was investigating the stolen $2.8 Billion, from the Coffers Of NNPC between 1977-1978, while Buhari was NNPC Boss.

Buhari was indicted by the Saraki’s father over the missing funds, as the money was traced to his Bank accounts with British bank, Midland bank (now HSBC).

Buhari and his Military gangs then staged the 1983 coup that ousted the Shehu Shagari-led government to cover up his indictment by Senate Committee and the Justice Ayo Irikefe panels that probed the missing 2.8 billion dollars oil money.

The late Sen. Abubakar Olusola Saraki was thrown behind bars together with members of his committee and other Nigerian politicians by Buhari.

Regrettably, the $2.8 Billion probe was swept under the carpet, and the audit trail and source documents destroyed by Buhari’s Military Government.

Fast forward to 2015/16, Saraki, the son who did not know what transpired between Buhari and his father is now facing trial. Why? The sins of the father.
