It is relevant and will always be. Post graduate studies, working with top companies globally, research grants etc. It is. I advise any student to achieve one. Start early, as early as the day you get admitted into the institution. Be determined and preserve. The world is competitive, ensuring you stand out in the competition is key.

Mrs Kachtee (She got a first in Law from UI and MSc from Cambridge) made a post on it.

EducationRe: Education : A Solution To Nigeria's Problem by Chizzyjoyce(op): 7:21am On Aug 02, 2017
Education is the torch which guide a person in the darkness.

Education is the key to unlock the true potential of a person.

Education gives you aim in life and how to achieve your aim in life can be done by proper education.

Education gives the ability to think, question ,enjoy the right given by our constitution and to enforce them if need arises.

Education if given the chance can change Nigeria for good..

Just in my little view

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world ~ Nelson mandela.

Although corruption could be perceived at the root of many of Nigeria’s problems yet Illiteracy could still be sourced out to be one of the reasons why Nigeria has many problems, why Nigeria despite the abundant blessings from God is still being classified as one of the developing countries.

Even in the Educational Sector where the height of illiteracy could be attained, corruption still persist thereby causing more illiteracy to freely ride in the air. Lecturers are known to collect money from students in exchange for good grades.

How can Education help to reduce the boatload of problems Nigeria has??

LiteratureDealing With Depression: You Can Help Yourself by Chizzyjoyce(op): 6:59am On Aug 02, 2017
Please permit me to drop this saying before I proceed.

“To be happy with yourself, you’ve got to lose yourself now and then.” ~Bob Genovesi

Yes I was depressed and the depression was overwhelming. It came in waves even when I thought I was getting better.
Everyone goes through tough times at different points in their lives, and we all feel sad every now and then. It’s important to understand that feeling sad temporarily is very different from being depressed or having depression.

How can we stop being depressedhuh

A friend of mine told me in no certain manner that depression is embedded in her very own soul. It will never leave. It doesn't get better. What can she really do to get off this feelings.

Depression is something that can be eradicated although the processes involved are sometimes very convoluted.

If you feel you can suggest possible ways of riding through depression, you can drop some of them

Some students have lost that intrinsic drive to pursue first class since they feel it's doesn't really stand as a yardstick to measure a person's future
EducationIs First Class Still Relevant In Our Country Today?? by Chizzyjoyce(op): 11:02am On Aug 01, 2017
The Emphasis on First Class

There are over a thousand and one person in the same field with you. Graduating with first class set you apart from them. Nevertheless, the knowledge being acquired in school is not often streamlined with the expectation in the outside world of work. So here goes the question - is First Class still relevant especially in Nigeria today.
Some people still strive for it and others do not. Why??

I'm very happy because of where I am today.
I've really been exposed to certain contemporary things that my normal self wouldn't have known.
I'm more edified to be were I am today
All glory to God for this.

Let Me just act...
Like I don't know the fact...

************** cry
Look at how Life's falling has made me Bold...
Even though my real story of existence is yet to be told..
I'm confused because the good, the bad and the ugly I hold..
And all I'm experiencing is just too cold

Never had the slightest feeling of falling down to the ground...
Tho I'm very aware the world goes round..
But strength and courage has always been around..

I told myself something in the month of May
I am strong is what I always say..
Not knowing that I would one day meet a sorrowful day..
A day that has made me so weak to even pray..
That I can't even find happiness in a friend's play

I'm wounded for love..
So much wounded cos I don't see how it would be solve..
Dunno if it's because everything is in curve
Or maybe I was unknowingly shoved

Heartbroken I've been with tears..
Crying out to someone who doesn't wanna hear..
I just feel like ending it here
Since darkness is rapidly coming near..
The pains is what I don't think I can bear..
Someone's has to help out since I'm dear

In fact Someone needs to help me out..
Because I can't even explain how pains sealed my mouth..
I only bear but can let out a shout..
Yet everyone still expresses some feelings of doubt..

Do you think it's a lie?
Or you wanna believe me when I die?
See I've worn anger just as a tie
And someone's has to collect this file

Maybe I've got to get up from sand
Equip so many weapons in my hand
Take hold of everything in the land
And be in charge of them in the band

If I must be acquainted with life
Then I've got to be submissive to some extent like a wife
Else I'll be wounded with a cut like a sharp knife..

I think I've got to end it here
Otherwise I may not really get there..

cry cry cry cry cry

Uhmmm.. I'm just free styling..

This work is not from a professional poet and as such is opened to constructive criticisms... Thanks

I remain my humble self... Rejoice

Nice write up,pretty! I am a graduate of this glorious department, unimaid. Of a truth, didn't choose the course but the course chose me. It was in year two I started developing interest and showing burning passion for it. I also faced the same challenges when I was in school; teased by friends, mocked by other students during GST Lectures, even some lecturers from other departments, especially d department where we took our electives, teased n mocked us. Same was told by my fellow corpers who studied same course at different schools. Adult education has been misconceptualized by Nigerians; some see it as evening class for adult learners others see it as education for never-do-well. But adult education goes far beyond that. Moreover, adult education is not only d field of study dat is being looked down upon. Education courses are being looked down upon in Nigeria. Little do Gvernment know dat adult education is of great importance in dis country, more especially in the Northern part of dis country: they really need this genre of education there cos of high preValence of illiteracy and poverty. Lemme stop at dis point.
Wish to knw you.
Wish to know you too ma'am

You are not wrong...and she is not wrong to think she has a chance as well.

One thing I have learnt in my short existence is that Life is not black or white. Reality is multi-faceted and Ts whatever you make of it. Education is more about the skills you have learnt, and she can decide to make whatever she want from those skills - even from other fields. You shouldn't forget Jonathan was a zoology lecturer before becoming the president of Nigeria.

For all intent and purposes, who's to say she can't start a practice of her own and offer a world class educational service; and she seem to be very driven.

No offence bro, I just believe if she is good at what she does...she will do well for herself, family and the society: than having a feeling of despair that she hasnt studied engineering or law.
You really got me thinking in this one

Thanks alot for this excellent comment

to me all education courses are useless, don't care how anyone paints it.....with an economy like this, people wey read medicine never see work finish e come be education. buh ur a lady tho, so I guess it rily doesn't matter
How people reason undecided

I'm sorry to burst your bubbles..

No Course is Useless and you'll only get to understand what I've said when you stop perceiving Education as just for employment but for conscientization. Education gets you exposed to things whether you accept it or not. And Education takes places in its different form, we are mostly familiar with the formal Education school system and as such don't know that we are still undergoing Education in its other form like the informal and the non-formal.

Try to read more bout the benefits of Education, I think it will help you Sir
