In a statement released on Wednesday in Enugu, the Police Command’s spokesman in Enugu State, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said its operatives have arrested five persons over alleged planting of fetish materials, popularly known as `Juju’, in a parcel of land, leading to the death of one Thomas Ezeugwu.

the police spokesman said that the mysterious death happened in Nkpologwu town in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, adding that the deceased was said to have slumped and died on Oct. 6 in the morning.

He said;

“Following his death, the deceased corpse was brought to his home town Nkpologwu in Uzouwani Local Government Area for burial formalities.

“As if the spirit of the deceased was hunting his alleged killers, it was gathered that as the mourning was going on, one Okolo Nicholas, Peter Ezugwu and Augustine Ezeugwu all from the same town but resident in Onitsha, Anambra, started confessing.

“The three persons, who came for burial ceremony of the deceased, allegedly called the villagers and told them how they conspired and brought Juju from Omor Town of Anambra which was invoked into their disputed land.

“They said that they took the action since the deceased sold 20 plots of the communal land without their consent,’’ he said.

Amaraizu said that on the strength of their confessions, the police swung into action to “investigate the invocation of Juju and trial by ordeal to wit-murder against the suspects, Peter Ezeugwu, Nicholas Oko and Augustine Ezeugwu”.

“The three suspects during further investigations revealed how they conspired and went to Omor Town and invoked Juju on the said land, on the ground that whoever enters the land will die. They submitted that the deceased may have entered the land, hence his sudden death.

“Following their official revelations, the two native doctors involved in the invocation of the juju and trial by ordeal, who gave their names as Obu Madubuike and Okafor Okoye, all from Omor town, were arrested.

“The native doctors confirmed that they were met by the three suspects for invocation of juju and that it was targeted at whoever that would enter the said land,’’
he said.

Amaraizu said that the command had commenced investigation into the matter to get to the root of the whole issue.

Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin apparently has a word or two for women who go into relationships for financial gains.

Inasmuch as the phenomenon of ‘One Corner’ has been massive, Ghanaians, as usual, take things too far and turn it into something else.

People have been warned about the dangers of over-exuberance whilst doing the dance but its fallen on deaf ears and eventually led to such needless casualties. A couple of teenagers in the Brong Ahafo Region have died after they were spotted dancing one corner whilst riding a motorbike. Kwabena Fante, 17 and Nyarko Abronoma, 15, were riding on the bike at Ntotroso when the unfortunate accident occurred.

According to reports they were dancing whilst riding and people had noticed their dangerous actions but they ignored all warnings to stop.
“They were on the motorbike dancing to the tune when they collided with another person who was skidding off the road and crashed into a structure.” the report said. The bodies have since been deposited at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital mortuary at Hwidiem. One other person is in the hospital in critical condition.

One thing i don't understand is that they keep arresting these notorious guys and next thing, we don't hear anything about them again. It's annoying i swear.

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad on Tuesday arrested one Emeka Anthony Uche for pretending to be deaf and dumb in order to steal from unsuspecting victims. According to reports, Uche’s expertise was to sneak into peoples’ offices, steal laptops, mobile phones and other valuables.

He was arrested yesterday after one of his escapades. CCTV footage of his exploits have been compiled by the police for him to be arraigned in court.

A man who was caught sleeping with the wife of a police officer got what he did not bargain for as he was beaten up mercilessly. A man in Benin City, Edo State identified as Ese Idehen who could not keep his hands off a married woman got what he did not bargain for after he was caught sleeping with the woman by her husband who incidentally is a police officer.

According to a video which was made of the incident, Idehen, himself a married man. had gone to the woman's house for his usual sex romp not knowing the husband had gotten wind of his adulterous affairs with his wife and organized some thugs who laid in wait for him.
After sneaking into the house thinking the coast was clear as usual, the waiting gang stormed in on the duo and that was hen all hell was let loose.
Idehen was given the beating of his life, had his clothes torn and forced into the boot of his car.

A 22-year-old woman who was shot and killed by police after crashing into an officer with her car was an aspiring lawyer, her relatives have said.

Cariann Hithon had been celebrating her birthday when she crashed her black BMW into three vehicles in Miami.
As a crowd gathered around her car, Ms Hithon sped forwards, knocking one Florida police officer to the ground before another quickly fired three shots at her.

Her car then swerved across the road and crashed.

Ms Hithon was taken to a nearby hospital where she died of her wounds.
The police officer she hit, David Cajuso, has been released from hospital and is recovering at home, the Miami Beach police department said.
According to the Miami Herald, investigators believe Ms Hithon and her friend, who got out of the car before she accelerated, had been drinking heavily.

In social media footage of the shooting, one bystander can be heard saying the driver was "drunk as sh**."
Cary Hithon said his daughter's actions were "out of character."

He told CBS Miami the aspiring lawyer "wanted to make a difference in the lives of people who weren't as fortunate as her."
She had recently transferred from Hampton University in Virginia to Temple University in Philadelphia and was expected to graduate with a degree in political sciences. Prosecutors have opened an inquiry into whether police acted lawfully in shooting and killing Ms Hithon.

Another shocking news revealed. The Lagos State Police have said that Tagbo Umeike, the late friend of Popular Nigerian singer, Davido, died from suffocation.

Acting Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal stated this at a briefing on this afternoon (Wednesday) where he announced that Davido has been re-invited for questioning

According to Edgal, the original autopsy report revealed that Tagbo died of suffocation, adding that he was abandoned in his car at the hospital by Davido’s driver and two of his friends.

Edgal said Davido has been reinvited for questioning because he lied that he only knew of the Tagbo’s demise while he was at a night club, DNA in Victoria Island, a claim that has been found to be untrue.

An inmate in the Ogwashi Ukwu Prison, Smart Ohuzu, died yesterday morning hours after his inmates contributed money for him to be taken to the hospital. According to Prince Gwamnishu Harrison, the CEO of an NGO, Behind Bars Intervention, who shared the story online, prison officers had asked that the inmates contribute N5000 for the deceased to be taken to the hospital. Prison Authorities Out of Negligence kills Smart Ohuzu (Awaiting Trial prisoner)

Yesterday, another one happened. This is the worst. This time is a young man who was just remanded in Prison by a Delta State Magistrate court.

Two months he has been sick. Fellow inmates have been begging the prison Authorities to please take Smart Ohuzu to the hospital.

Yesterday morning, the sickness became worse and Prison Authorities called on the cell leader to gather N5000 from cell mates so they can transport him to Ogwashi Uku General hospital.

The poor prisoners contributed money. Some contributed 10naira, some 50naira and they were able to contribute 3,500naira. The money was remaining 1,500naira. These got Prison officers angry and refused to take Smart Ohuzu to hospital.

Inmates who saw Smart Ohuzu on the floor struggling, rush back to the cell and one inmate gave out the 1,500naira to enable officers take Smart Ohuzu to the Hospital.

Smart Ohuzu was rushed to Ogwashi Uku General hospital after they have collected the the money contributed. Getting to the hospital, the Doctors treated him and referred them to Federal Medical Center or Okwe General Hospital. The Doctor complained that they will stop accepting inmates from Ogwashi Uku Prison and they are always bringing inmates for treatment at the point of Death.

The officers, instead of taking Smart Ohuzu to the hospital the Doctor referred them, with chains on his leg they led him into the Green Maria (Black Maria) and took him back to the prison yard complaining of Man-power.

Smart Ohuzu was then chained and left in the cold, struggled and died with tears in his eyes.

Smart Ohuzu died three hours after he was forcefully brought back to into the prison yard.

The inmates can't complain, if they do, they either change their cell or punish them.

The pictures attached are the Awaiting trial prisoners we rescued last year but unfortunately they both died and many the law states are Innocent until Proven guilty are dying daily.
