An eyewitness report by Meshack Uyi, claims men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad allegedly forcefully took bags four bags of Garri from traders at a popular market in Rivers State. Read below:

"I was completely bewildered to see men of the F-SARS cart away 4 bags of Garri from two traders at the popular Mbiama market at about 12:21pm today.

Three of them jumped down from the white hilux van in a commando style, charging at the two traders in the guise of clearing the road. Rather than clearing the road, it was the traders 4 bags of Garri they hurriedly threw to their van.

Not knowing what their intention was, the traders ran to them to demand money for their goods but the F-SARS men warned them not to come closer than they have or they will be dealt with accordingly. "Una no dey fear"! "Woman, you won challenge us abi"? they a
charged and zoomed off!

Sadly, their were Soldiers at the very spot (check point) where this incident happened, watching. All they could do was to laugh!

I managed to capture them at a distance while zooming off with their loot.

Business mogul, Deji Adeleke, has debunked rumours that he is nursing an ambition to run for the 2018 Osun governorship on the APC platform.

This is contained in a statement on Monday signed by Dele Adeleke.

It described the speculations as false, unfounded and ludicrous.

“Adeleke is not interested in seeking any political office nor involved in any talks/plot to make him the governorship candidate of APC or any other political party,” the statement read.

“Adeleke is not a politician and has chosen to continue to render his contributions and service to humanity in his private capacity and through his foundation.

“We hereby appeal to the good people of Osun state and all Nigerians to disregard the mischievous publication in its entirety.”

The Ekiti State Governorship election will hold on July 14, 2018, while Osun State Governorship election will hold September 22, 2018, INEC recently disclosed.

Commencement date of Campaigns for Ekiti Governorship election is April 15, 2018, and that of Osun State is June 24, 2018.

A junior secondary school student declared missing has been found - She was seen at her lover’s place despite the heart ache she subjected her guardians to Asmau Ajibade, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) student in her second year was declared missing about a week ago and was found in her lover’s house.

The 15-year-old girl was said to have disappeared on her way to school leaving her poor guardians worried and unsettled.

The student of Agbara Community Junior Secondary School in Ogun state caused the school and her guardians a whole lot of stress only for her to be found in a man’s house. Ajibade lived with Alhaji Rauf Adetona and Alhaja Ajarat Adetona, her guardians. The duo lives around plot 18, OPIC estate in Agbara.

The latter revealed that the girl had been with them since she was about four years; her disappearance came as a rude shock. Asmau Ajibade, the secondary school student found in her lover's house.

She said it would be the first time of leaving the house without returning. This made them search for her the more. While the case was being investigated, a guard in Igbo Elerin identified as John was arrested alongside a cobbler, Moses.

The cobbler was said to have connived with John in abducting the girl and keeping her at his apartment for days. The cobbler had helped the girl fix her sandal the day she disappeared and had told the guardians she was in a hurry. The school also confirmed her absence that day.

Police officers at Agbara police division knew about the case and worked diligently in cracking it.

A family friend of the guardians found the girl at Oko Afo area of Badagry on Saturday, October 7. Alhaji Rauf Adetona said the young girl confessed to being hooked up with John by the cobbler. She also revealed that she slept at the lover’s place for four days.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says France midfielder N’Golo Kante will be sidelined for three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury on international duty.

Kante was forced off in the first half of France’s World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria last weekend and Conte expects him to be out for the rest of October.

“Kante is going to do another scan next week to check if his situation is improving. From the previous scan, maybe he will be out for around 20 or 21 days,” Conte told reporters on Friday.

Kante, who won the PFA Player of the Year award last season, will miss Chelsea’s Premier League trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday and could be out for another five fixtures this month.


That would include two Champions League dates with Roma, Premier League matches against Watford and Bournemouth and a League Cup tie against Everton.

Conte admitted Kante’s absence is a big blow as Chelsea head into a busy period, especially as England midfielder Danny Drinkwater, signed from Leicester in August, is also injured at present.

“In Kante’s situation you have to have another scan to understand the situation very well,” Conte said.

“He is a big loss for us because we know very well the importance of Kante to our team and we don’t have another player with his characteristics.

“Danny is progressing well but is not ready yet. We must have patience with his calf problem. We may have to adapt some defenders into midfielders.”

Fourth-placed Chelsea are six points behind Manchester City after the champions lost 1-0 to the Premier League leaders in their last match before the international break.

Adding to Conte’s injury woes, Spain striker Alvaro Morata will miss the Palace match with a hamstring injury suffered against City.

Morata didn’t play for Spain over the last fortnight, but Conte hopes he will return to face Roma at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

“I hope to have Morata back very soon, I hope for the next game,” Conte said.

Shock waves spread through the Nigeria Police Force yesterday following the alleged demotion of the Lagos State acting Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal and acting Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aji Ali Janga.

The rumoured demotion of both commissioners was seen in a memo, purported to have emanated from the office of the Police Service Commission (PSC). The memo was first sighted on the internet in the early hours of yesterday and by midday; it was already all over the social media.

The PSC Chairman, Mike Okiro, however, denied that such memo had the approval of the board. A source in the PSC said: “We heard the rumour; we have received several calls concerning it and I can tell you, that it’s not true. I can’t say the letter is a forged one. I can, however, tell you that the board did not approve that letter.” The memo was dated October 8, 2017 and signed by M. F. Istifanus, Permanent Secretary for chairman, PSC. The memo was entitled: “Withdrawal of Acting Appointment: AP.25095 Mohimi D. Edgal and AP.36665 Aji Ali Janga.” The memo adds: “Our letter with Ref. No. PS/1924/Vol.IX/dated 22nd August, 2017 conveying the Honourable Chairman’s anticipatory approval for the placement of the above-named officers as Acting Commissioners of Police refers please. “The Commission at its 24th Plenary Meeting of 27th and 28th September, 2017 took a decision not to ratify the anticipatory approval. The officers are, therefore, reverted to their substantive rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Please accept the assurance of the Commission’s high esteem.” No reason was given for the withdrawal of the approval to elevate the officers. If the demotion had been true, Edgal would have had to step down from his position as the number one policeman in Lagos. Edgal replaced Fatai Owoseni as commissioner

He had spent just 42 days as the acting police commissioner in Lagos, before the memo drama. The Commissioner representing the Media and South-East (PSC), Dame Comfort Obi, said: “Imohimi Edgal remains the Acting CP; nothing has changed.”
