Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe Damijo better known as RMD, is a sure lover of entertainment and creativity and that he has just come to voice out.

It is very rare to hear a legend like him talk about the trends in which the youths of today are moving by but for RMD he just needed to speak up for good work as seen in the life of singer, Brymo.

RMD was at an event over the weekend in Abuja, where he listened to the likes of Seyi Shay and Brymo perform and despite that he enjoyed the event, he did not just leave without pointing out the part he enjoyed which was Brymo’s performance.

The actor stated that Brymo has really stepped up his game in the music industry as he has been able to have a mix of afrobeat and jazz into his style of music.

“But by far, my favourite of the night was @brymo . I am an ardent preacher of creatively stepping up your game all the time and this young man has done just that, he has completely turned around his music and it was an amazing experience watching him play a mix of afrobeat and jazz with a big, well orchestrated band,” he said.

Actress Ebube Nwagbo has had her fair share of controversies in the industry and has since managed to keep her private life private.


The beautiful actress who was once linked to singer Kcee, opened up to Sunday Scoop, on why she is yet to be married.

“I believe that everything happens at the right time, which is the time that God ordains. I don’t like abandoning things halfway; I prefer to stick with it till the end. That’s why I have to be very careful about marriage. I don’t think divorced couples go into their marriages with the intention to split. It is because issues came up that they couldn’t handle or that they did not know one another well enough before getting married. Anyway, I have learnt from the mistakes of other people and whenever I make my decision, it just has to be the right way.”

An unusual scenario played out today at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Chief of Staff to the President Abba Kyari were seen questioning the Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita, apparently over her leaked memo to President Muhammadu Buhari.
 
The scenario, which lasted about 10 minutes, was before President Buhari arrived the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa for the Federal Executive Council meeting.
 
Senate President Bukola Saraki, House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara, APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, service chiefs and others in attendance watched while the drama lasted.
 
Saraki, Dogara and Oyegun were inside the Council Chambers to grace the swearing-in ceremony of the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, as well as the launching of the 2018 Armed Forces Remembrance emblem.
 
Media reports had quoted Oyo-Ita, in the leaked memo, as saying that Buhari was aware of the reinstatement of the former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina.
 
Oyo-Ita was also quoted to have stated that she had warned the president against the controversial recall of the embattled former pension boss.
 
As soon as Oyo-Ita got seated at the Council Chambers of the Villa this morning, Kyari engaged her in a discussion which appeared heated.
 
Visibly angry, the Head of Service rose from her seat and headed straight to Osinbajo, who also engaged her in a tête-a-tete over the issue.
 
The National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, later joined the conversation after which the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation was seen calming the Head of Service.

A former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, has arrived a Federal High Court to testify as a defence witness in the ongoing trial of former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh.

Mr. Dasuki’s appearance followed an order of the Federal High Court for a subpoena to be issued on him, through the directorate of the State Security Service, SSS.

Mr. Dasuki has been in the custody of the SSS for over a year despite court orders for his release. He is being prosecuted separately for alleged mismanagement of funds while in office.

The Federal High Court’s directive for the SSS to present him in court was also in obedience to a September 29 directive of the Appeal Court.

Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senstor Mohammed Danjuma Goje lost his.wife, Hajiya Yelwa Danjuma Goje, a statement by the Senators son, Ahmed Mohammed Goje has said.

The statement indicated that HajiaYelwa, aged 55, died in a hospital in the United States of America.

The statement also indicated that the late wife of the former Governor of Gombe State is survived by her husband, Senator Goje, six children, 10 grandchildren, relatives, supporters and admirers.

Ahmed Goje also stated that the family will soon.announce details of the funeral arrangements.

If Mary Akpobome, wife of ace comedian and actor, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, alias Ali Baba, were to come back to this world, she would most probably choose banking as a career.  The reason may be that banking has done so much for her since she ventured into it.
 
Very pretty, brainy and confident, she is believed to hold the magic wand that can turn the fortunes of any moribund bank around. It is, therefore, not surprising that she has risen to an enviable height in the industry.
However, reports reaching Spy Glass about Akpobome are not too pleasant, since her employer, Heritage Bank, placed her  on an indefinite suspension to recover the loans she signed off. It was gathered that the big girl has been running from pillar to post to get back her position.

Until her suspension, the 49-year-old, who started her career in 1991, was overseeing the service and management group of the bank. Prior to her joining the bank, Akpobome, who holds an MBA from the University of Lagos, Akoka, had worked in Citizens International Bank (now Enterprise Bank Limited, Nigeria) and Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank).

This past weekend, Nigerian singer, Mr. 2Kay was robbed at gun point in his hotel room at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The incident happened at about 11pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017, shortly after his performance at the Buckwyld and Breathless concert.

In his first social media post since the ugly incident, Mr 2kay says, 'There is more to what the eyes can see'.His full post reads, 'I’m grateful to everyone that reached out to me and I appreciate your love and concern. I still need your prayers as I look forward to greater days ahead. There is more to what the eyes can see, but when you have God you are always covered. May God grant all our heart desires. Amen'.

The Federal Government has revealed plans to turn the ancestral home of afrobeat legend and activist Fela Anikulapo-Kuti into a museum.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said this while visiting the musician’s ancestral home in Ogun State, along with Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Punch reports.

Mohammed said Fela will be immortalised by turning the house located on NEPA Road, Isabo, Abeokuta, into a museum.

The museum will be inaugurated “very soon, probably next year,” he said, describing the plan as laudable and admirable. He said:

It is laudable in the sense that this is one of the most positive steps to actually put our rhetorics into action.

We have always said that one of the important assets we have is our cultural heritage, our history and this project, which is going to immortalise the Ransome-Kuti family, is laudable and admirable.

The family, as you know, represent different things to different people, whether you talk about education, emancipation, music or entertainment.

Therefore, this attempt by the government at immortalising the family by preserving and restoring the ancestral home is very commendable.

This is the period we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the death of the maestro himself and I am sure this is within time, as the museum will be inaugurated very soon, probably next year.

The emphasis of this government, whether state or federal, is that the creative industry must be turned into creative economy and this centre is going to be a good model to encourage and inspire the youth.

Amosun described Fela as someone who was ahead of his time.

The Kuti family conquered the world, he said, not just Ogun State or Nigeria. He said:

All our icons have a special place in our administration. These are the people who define us, when we go out there and say we are from Ogun State. We can’t call ourselves who we say we are without those giants who lived before us. They laid the foundation that we are all building upon.

And, clearly, the Kuti family is one of those illustrious families that conquered the world, not only Ogun Sate or Abeokuta or Nigeria . Indeed, at times when I  am away in the US and I take a cab, the music I hear is that of great Fela himself.

Fela was far ahead of his time. For us, it will be in our interest to let people know his origin, his root.
