A Twitter user identified as @EzraelAni, has taken to the platform to call out Olamide cover his choice of lyrics in his song with Dj Kaywise ‘See Mary See Jesus’. According to the young man, Olamide, who is a Muslim made a secular song with the chorus being chants of two names from the holy book of Christians, Mary and Jesus, which he says isn’t right. He wrote; “So a Muslim did a secular song and used “See Mary, See Jesus” as the chorus and all ye Christians seem okay with it? Like, can a Christian try such with holy names from the Quran and go scot free? Na songs like that NBC suppose they ban, but what do i know? “So i did my research and most of the results i got shows that Olamide is a muslim but let’s leave the argument of Olamide’s religion for another day. My Point is, i think using holy names from eiter the Bible or Quran for secular songs is wrong. Simple” See his tweets below: https:///pawXCl-2P https:///pawXCl-2P |
A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing a 2-year-old boy in Lagos. According to reports, the shocking incident happened on Wednesday, 12th December, 2018, as the young son of one Mr Promise Samuel from Ikono Local Government, Akwa Ibom State – was brutally murdered in cold blood by a co-tenant identified as Ms. Chineye Ndubuife from Anambra State. The suspect who is cooling off in the cell at Tolu Police station in Apapa, Lagos has allegedly confessed to the crime. According to Marshal Udoh, the suspect narrated how she sent a child to call Wisdom (the deceased) from their room where he was with his nursing mother. While Wisdom was with the suspect’s child and her elder sister’s child, the co-tenant sent the other children to go and buy Indomie and reportedly asked Wisdom to stay back when he wanted to follow them. Following the departure of the two little children, Ms Chineye Ndubiife, a mother of one took the Wisdom to the backyard where she allegedly hit the child’s head on the wall after which she used big stone and hit Wisdom’s head severally which led to the boy’s death. She said she dumped the child’s corpse in the toilet where Mr Promise found his son’s corpse. Asked why she killed the boy, Ms Chineye Ndubuife disclosed that her intention was to inflict severe injury on Wisdom so that the child’s father (Promise Samuel) will spend money on treating him. One man still keen on having a say on the fight which ended in a draw is former Former WBA light heavyweight, British and Commonwealth boxing champion Peter Oboh who said Fury would have won the fight if it didn’t hold in America. He started, “What I observed while watching the big fight was that Tyson Fury got a miracle and I believe it’s because of his Christian faith as he kept thanking Jesus after the fight which is a good thing,” He said that although Fury was in control and also ahead on points, the knock down he suffered in the 9th and 12th rounds were bad enough for the fight to be stopped even though he was ahead on points. “In a boxing match when a boxer is knocked down, he is given a mandatory 10 count. If the fallen boxer doesn’t recover during 8 seconds count the fight is meant to be stopped. But Fury got over 15 seconds grace to recover from the knock down by Wilder. “Even George Foreman did not get such luxury in his fight with Mohammed Ali.” Oboh a minister of the Lord believes it was God that did the magic for Fury, urging Anthony Joshua to embrace Jesus because, he would need such favour in due course. “I strongly believe that Joshua should connect himself to Christ because he might need such a miracle like Fury one of these days,” he said. As a culture, we spend more time, money, and energy on the pursuit of sex than on just about anything else. But does that make us passionate, or does it make us obsessed? That’s one of the questions researchers Frédérick Philippe and Robert Vallerand set out to answer in a series of five studies that investigated passion, obsession, and how those phenomena affect our sexual experiences—as well as other areas of our lives. Obsession versus passion, explained. Most of us tend to interpret passion and obsession as two different things. The former is a fiery (but healthy) interest in a person, thing, or idea; the latter is an unhealthy fixation with destructive consequences. But Philippe and Vallerand hypothesized that sexual passion, long believed to be a one-dimensional phenomenon, was really a two-sided coin with harmony on one side, obsession on the other. Interestingly, Philippe and Vallerand found that the two types of sexual passion—harmonious and obsessive—can “lead to clearly distinct subjective, relational, and cognitive outcomes.” More specifically, obsessive sexual passion was associated with a detachment of sexual desire from other parts of a person’s life. The less integrated a person’s sexuality is with the rest of their world, the narrower their perspective on sex becomes. That leads to a greater sense of urgency and goal-orientation—a feeling of being controlled by sex rather than being in control—which, as we know, tends to make sex less enjoyable and climax less likely. On the flip side, harmonious sexual passion is characterized by a sense of freedom in exploring and indulging one’s sexual desires without defensiveness and the feeling that a person’s sexuality is aligned with their identity and interests in other areas of life. People who experience harmonious sexual passion are able to enjoy sex without creating conflict within themselves. The Department for International Development (DFID) says Nigeria needs to invest more in healthcare, education and economic reforms. The country head of the oganisation, Debbie Palmer, said this on Monday during a conference organised by the Not Too Young To Run group in the nation’s capital, Abuja. She explained that there are projections that soon Nigeria could become the third largest nation on earth which could mean a rise in the number of the working age and potentially, a boost in the nation’s GDP. However, according to her, this can only be possible if the nation invests in its health, education and economic sectors. Palmer said, “According to projections, Nigeria is set to become potentially, the third largest nation on earth by 2050 after China and India. “So, what that means is, there will be a huge rise in the number of Nigeria’s working age over the next 50 years and in theory, this could transition Nigeria from being a lower middle-income country to being a higher middle-income country with a GDP per capita of over $8,000 per person. “That is a bright future to work for and that would be a fantastic future for Nigeria. “To get there, Nigeria needs to be investing in its healthcare, education and economic reforms. “Because in a nutshell we’ve got huge numbers of Nigerians being born and we need those people to be nourished, educated, healthy, skilled and to become productive members of the society, having jobs and driving this economy forward”. Also addressing the youths, the sponsor of the Not Too Young To Run bill in the House Of Representatives, Mr Tony Nwulu, asked them to walk their talk anytime they recite the country’s national anthem. “The Not Too Young To Run initiative has truly brought us into the spirit of the national anthem. Today, we can actually say that we have answered that clarion call for young people to get involved in mainstream politics. “So if you could have made it through your party primaries, go through the rigors and every other thing that goes with it and you emerged as a party candidate, then you know that you’ve truly been called to serve this country with strength and faith and I ant all of us to continue to reflect on the national anthem,” he said. The conference brought together candidates from 91 registered political parties to educate them on the need to build the right values that would help them deliver good governance and quality representation in Nigeria. President Buhari had signed the ‘Not Too Young To Run’ Bill into law in May, reducing the age limit for presidential candidates from 40 to 35. On the other hand, the minimum age for National and State Assembly members was reduced to 25. The aim of the law is to increase the participation of young people in politics, as more than half of the nation’s population is below age 30.
