One officer, four soldiers and 14 terrorists have lost their lives in a fresh attack on the Army by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed Lt.-Col. Muhammad Abu Ali, who led the operation to recapture Baga.

According to reports, the terrorists attacked 119 Battalion, Nigerian Army location at Malam Fatori in northern Borno, on Friday, killing one officer and four soldiers.

The Army Spokesman, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement on Saturday that the troops fought gallantly, repelled the attack and killed 14 Boko Haram terrorists.

Usman gave the name of the officer that died in action as Lt.-Col. Muhammad Abu Ali, the Commanding Officer of 272 Task Force Tank Battalion.

He said that four other soldiers sustained various degrees of injury during the encounter.

“It will be recalled that because of the late senior officer’s exceptional bravery and gallantry, he was given an accelerated promotion from the rank of Major to Lieutenant Colonel and was decorated by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, at Gamboru Ngala on Sept. 9, 2015, during an operational visit,’’ he said.

Usman, however, said that the troops recovered one General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), seven AK-47 rifles and a large quantity of ammunition.

According to him, mopping up and exploitation are ongoing.

The successful blogger admitted in an interview that she would not consider marrying someone who is not wealthy.

Celebrity blogger, Linda Ikeji is not the bit reserved when it comes to her taste in men, stating that they can be anything but poor.
Ikeji mentioned this in an interview published today.

The blogger disclosed that she has been getting quite a lot of marriage proposals, but only wants a man she can look up to.

She was cocky when she mentioned that she can get married at any instant if she wills, as getting a husband has never been a problem for her.

"I keep telling people. It’s not that men are scarce. They are not scarce. The type of men that some of us are looking for are scarce.

"If I want to get married next week, I can. I want a man that I can look up to. Somebody that inspires me, somebody that will push me, motivate me; somebody who has had some success in his own career.

"I’m inspired by successful people. I can’t wait to meet someone like Tyler Perry."

Concerning if she can marry someone who is not wealthy, she said, "No, I can’t marry a poor guy and I’m being honest about it. He doesn’t have to be rich but let him be successful in his own way."

Linda Ikeji's successful career as a blogger hasn't been without controversies.

Earlier in the year 2016, she was involved in an online fight with Starboy Worldwide artiste, Wizkid, who lashed at her for a report she wrote about him getting evicted from his apartment.

This went on to become a police matter which was settled by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni.

It was also alleged that the money she used in acquiring her Banana Island mansion were payments she received from Sambo Dasuki, a former National Security Adviser who served under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Davido has signed Lola Rae to his record label “Davido Music Worldwide”. The singer announced the signing of the 24 year old singer in an Instagram post on Saturday.

Lola Rae and her new boss Davido are currently in Dubai. She is managed by Kamal Ajiboye, who doubles as David”s manager under Twenty20 Media.

He wrote,

“LOLA RAE WELCOME TO DMW!!!!! 1ST LADY!!!!” in a social media post.

Lola Rae and Davido recently collaborated her new song titled ” Biko”. Davido Music Worldwide currently have Mayorkun, Dammy Krane and Dremo signed.

World Cup trophy sculptor, Silvio Gazzaniga dies at age 95

Italian sculptor, Silvio Gazzaniga who designed and created the current version of the FIFA World Cup trophy has died at the age of 95. Silvio designed the trophy in 1971. He passed away in his sleep on Monday October 31 following series of minor aliment.

A released statement from his son, Giorgio, announced his father’s demise. ‘He just didn’t wake up this morning. It was a peaceful death.’

Bride runs out of wedding reception – There was confusion in Delta State on Saturday as a wedding reception ended half-way, following the bride’s pronouncement that she was no longer interested in the few-hours-old marriage.

According to DAILY POST, the bride who ran away from the reception venue, was given hot chase by the husband.

Olamide, has again proved the potency of his prominence with the shutdown of his YBNL UK concert, yesterday.

Security officials, had to shut down the venue the concert was been held due to the large turnout of fans who were unable to get into the arena and had resorted to unruly behaviours.

The ‘Abule Sowo’ crooner, took to Snapchat to apologize for the abrupt shutdown, also sharing his pain on the inability of his fans to enjoy a show he had planned for months.

Former Lagos State Police Commissioner, Abubakar Tsav has said that Nigeria needs a leader like President Muhammadu Buhari.
Tsav also said that those who are complaining about the situation in the country are its enemies.

“Those complaining now are enemies of Nigeria. In a situation like this, before we get things right, there must be pangs of inconvenience and thereafter there is light at the end of tunnel. That is why I am appealing for patience, because everything will soon be right,” he told The Tribune.

“The way out is to continue to honour those who served this nation so as to boost the morale of Nigerians and encourage dignity of labour. But not to heap praises on those looters who have destroyed the country.

“Also, let the present administration strengthen the anti-corruption agencies to deal with all those corrupt leaders.

“Let me emphasise that President Muhammadu Buhari is doing the best thing in this direction and I appeal to Nigerians to be patient with him because the rot had been too much and to fix it will take a long time. But I think we are in a better hand to get out of the mess, which the past administration has thrown us into,” he added.

Tsav had earlier also defended Buhari against insinuations that he was behind the arrest of former minister of petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Alison-Madueke was arrested in the United Kingdom in October 2015 on suspicion of corruption.

She was later released but is still under investigation for money laundering and is believed to have personally supervised the stealing of $6 billion from Nigeria’s coffers.

The National Assembly has passed a motion to invite President Muhammadu Buhari to address the legislature on efforts being made by his administration to on the current economic recession.

The Senate passed the motion on Thursday in concurrence with the House of Representatives.

HKN Magic Finger music producer, Shizzi, has reportedly landed a new deal with Sony Music.

Shizzi, whose real name is Sheyi Akerele, hit the limelight for his work on Davido’s hit debut single ‘Dami Duro’ released in 2011.

Davido, who made this known while on his media tour to the Cool FM studio, also added that Shizzi, now resides in the US.


The highly talented producer, has worked with some other celebrities to include, Wizkid, Naeto C, Harrysong, amongst others.

Members of the House of Reps have called for the sack of Godwin Emefiele and his team at CBN over the falling Naira.

The governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been blamed for the continuous fall of the naira at the parallel market.
A fresh report by TheCable shows that some members of the House of Representatives have called for the sack of Emefiele and his team after heaping the blame on him.

It was reported that the call for Emefiele's sack was ignited by Honourable Ali Isa, who moved a motion entitled ‘Call for investigation of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s forex policies.’

The motion led to contributions from Hon. Mojeed Alabi and Wale Raji amongst others who debated the motion.

Hon. Alabi reportedly showed his surprise at how the CBN governor ignored several invitations by the House to discuss some of the bank’s policies and concluded Emefiele should be sacked.

“Over the falling of the Naira, the CBN governor and his team should be sacked,” Alabi reportedly said.

In his remark, Hon Raji said: “Who is in charge of our Forex CBN or the black market? This is the only country in the world where the black market rates are quoted on television. If Nigeria were to be a normal country, the CBN governor and his team should be sacked.”

However, the minority leader, Leo Ogor, kicked against Emefiele's sack saying lawmakers 'only thing we do is pay lip service' instead of working with the executive to find a lasting solution to problems such as the failing Naira.

The house, which was presided over by Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, resolved to set up an ad hoc committee to interact with the Bureau De Change operators and other establishment that deal in forex to explain how they utilise the subsidised forex from CBN.

Fans were treated to a brief moment of nostalgia last night at Tee A’s 20th anniversary concert at Intercontinental Hotel as Dbanj and Wande Coal rolled back the years and performed a couple of their Mohits hits.

Any trace of animosity was not apparent between the two and it seemed that all was well. Both artistes are widely regarded as the losers in the Mohits dissolution. Dbanj has never quite reached the status he did as part of Mohits while Wande Coal himself fell out with Don Jazzy after two years of being with Mavin Records.
