Do you do or can you recommend someone that can do an installation in Yaba? I already have the panels and charge controller. Would need the roof mounting brackets, wiring.

Can anyone point me to a reliable/trusted solar panel installer in the house that can install a 2 panel (300watts each) solar array in Yaba Lagos? I bought the panels and charge controller but my electrician dey fear to climb roof grin grin. Its a flat in a story building.
Thanks.

The only thing I would change from your setup is the Suor MPPT controller. I would change this for an epever or fangpusun mppt controller. They are much more reliable and have better charge algo compared to Suoer. I would advise you string your 300w panels in Series. This means that you would get about 70v-68v (VMP) depending on the panels. Doing it this way would ensure you.
1- Spend less on wiring, since you would be pushing move volts than amps from your panels to you CC. It would also means less voltage lost to resistance.
2 - Your battery would have more head room required to charge a tubular battery. Such batteries can require as high as 15.5v to be properly charged and you can set the absorption voltage to 14.8.

Both the listed charge controllers should be able to do what you want with the battery especially carry out equalization charge which is required for a tubular battery.
Thanks very much for your prompt response. I actually saw some of your previous posts here and they were very helpful and gave a lot of insight prior to me even making my comments.

In your opinion, which of them would be more user friendly? I haven't done this before and while I'm pro DIY, I feel a little bit nervous about it. The only reason I even thought of using the Suoer was because of the display interface and the ease of configuring (based on the view Youtube videos I was able to watch).

Again, I'm not an expert in this field at all, it just looked a little bit easier for a novice like me to set up and get running.

I appreciate your suggestion with regards to getting either Fangusun or Epever. Would you by any chance be able to direct me to a website article or video that shows the basic initial MPPT configuration process in English? This would be very helpful so I can follow after setting up the connections. I tried looking around and most of what I saw was in Hindi.

Thanks again!

Gurus in the house, I have a 850va Inverter with x1 220ah Tubular battery. I'm looking to add solar panels to my current system so I can charge with Sunlight as my regular electricity supply has become very unreliable.

After getting numerous quotes (most of them were outrageous!) from a number of sources, I decided to come here to see if I could get more information. I've gone through quite a lot of pages as well as other information on Google and I now think I have a good idea of the set up that would work for me. Just looking to get another opinion.

Initially, I was looking to get x3 Felicity 195watts 12v solar panels (since my battery is just 12v) and hook it up to a Suoer MPPT 60A charge controller.

Having delved a bit deeper, I found out I can actually use solar panels with higher voltage - 24v since the MPPT will still be able to step this down to the right voltage (12v) to charge my battery. From what I read, the higher voltage would reduce the losses associated with the distance between the solar panels and the controller.

Now I'm looking to get x2 300W 24v panels to connect to the same Suoer MPPT 60A charge controller.

In terms of pricing, both set-ups are relatively similar. I'm just hoping to get some advice on whether I should go for the 1st or 2nd set up and if either makes any sense! Also, comments on the choice of MPPT and Panels would be much appreciated as well.

Lastly, a very rough estimate on the accessories - mounting rack, cables, etc would be nice.

Thanks!

Just subscribe for any of the MTN plans on any device that has not gotten the 100% device bonus, and you'll be given double of the normal data. For instance, if you subscribe for the 1k/1.5GB plan, you'll be given 3GB. That's what I've been using for months now. With 5k, you get 20gb.
Yeah I already get double data on my Infinix Hot S..the best plan to use is the 5H for 1gb on MTN Pulse, turns into 5H for 2Gb with the bonus..but the 4G plans are different to the normal plans. You cant use a normal plan on MTN 4G. Once you switch to 4G it stops browsing. I don't know why they made the 4G plans independent of the existing ones. They are much more expensive. Does anybody know if they've changed that?

In general though, I don't use MTN to browse much. I find it more economical to go for Ntel's 10K for unlimited data simply because of the ratio of price to the amount of data you're getting. Like I said before I've averaged 160GB monthly for a few months now that's roughly 1K=16GB. And I haven't even maxed out before or noticed any bandwidth reduction. I wonder when their fair usage policy kicks in huh huh Maybe at 200GB grin grin

Depending on the location, reception and device, it's very possible. Some have posted speeds of over 145Mpbs. Check out this thread https://www.nairaland.com/3576315/unbelievable-speed-test-mtn...4g#52863953
Wow amazing speeds. I still believe that the day MTN decides to regularize their 4G plan prices is the day these speeds will be long gone. As things stand now very few people are using it. All the same though, these are the fastest speeds I've seen in Nigeria cheesy cheesy

When ntel started out in April last year, it was very fast then. I use to get up to 80Mbps at the time. But it has since become something else.

Right now, MTN has the fastest LTE in Nigeria. Depending on your location and how good LTE reception is, you could get up to 100Mbps on mtn.
Haven't tried the MTN 4G plan and I don't see myself trying them any time soon. Last time I checked I was seeing ridiculous prices like 100MB-N500, 200MB-N1000. Also saw that their unlimited plan was N37000 for one month (I stand to be corrected) and knowing MTN I'm suspicious of the use of the term "unlimited".
This is just a joke to me.

Has anybody really gotten up to 100Mbps on MTN 4G? ARE YOU SURE? I'm pretty skeptical. At those speeds, running a speed test for just 10sec could eat up 1GB and going by the prices, 1GB on MTN 4G would be about N5000 LOL
Screenshots will clear all doubts though grin grin

I think they are actually having some network problems. Something about their DNS huh huh The fastest network I've tested is Inter-C. They clocked 35MB/s one hot afternoon like that. I was using them before I switched to Ntel. I made the switch largely because of the price differences.

I've been using ntel for 3months now and its definitely worth it. Though with all these things, it largely depends on your location. I've averaged about 160GB per month. Network speed varies a lot. Initially when I got the SIM card, I ran a speed test and got about 25MB/s these days its more like 5MB/s which isn't bad in my opinion.

AKBliv010:
In a gaming scenario, yes the i5+1060 is a more balanced build but if you are streaming gameplay of like world of warcraft the i7+1050ti will offer a better experience as video encoding is performed on the CPU and the hyperthreading available on the i7 will shine.

So you see creating a scenario where your setup favours it isn't always a good basis for a discussion.
LOL, my setup favours what I do. And no, I'm not creating a scenario, its my reality. I built it to favour me and not anyone else. I don't stream and I don't make use of video encoding programs/games. Personally, I'd rather spend more on the graphics card than the processor as I have more graphic card intensive programs which I make use of. If I had a need to lean towards more processing power I would have done that. I need more graphics power in 3D modelling as opposed to 3D rendering. Rendering is more CPU intensive. I'm not trying to convince anyone, just explaining the reasons behind the specs I chose. This is a personal decision, everybody has their own preferences when it comes to specifications.

It is game dependent though and also depends on the area in the game too. True story, I have a friend in 9ja. i5-6600K+GTX1070 when playing Battlefield 1 at stock frequency 3.9Ghz, his CPU was using 100% of the CPU power limiting it's performance. I took my i7-6700K, underclocked it to 3.9GHZ but left hyperthreading active and my CPU @ 3.9GHz utilized 60% of the CPU.

So they are both important as some scenes are GPU-bound and others CPU-bound..real time processing of particles is done by the CPU which you'll find in explosions, destruction (which aren't pre-recorded) etc.
True, they all have their own areas of importance and generally, the more you spend on the rig the more power you're getting. Its just that when you're working with a budget I'd rather have a core i5 and 1060 (6GB) than a core i7 and a lower powered graphics card like a gtx 1050 (4gb). That's just the point I was trying to make
GamingRe: Gaming Pc Vs PS4 Which Is Better by Chuk77: 12:54pm On Feb 24, 2017
aquastar:
I have both. from my perspective, here are some of the pros and cons.

PS4
Pros
1. You can play a lot of great exclusive games that are not available on PC. e.g God of war, uncharted 4, bloodborne, horizon zero dawn etc
2. You dont have to worry about system requirements for new games. Just get the game, pop in the disc and play.
3. A PS4 is much cheaper than a PC so getting one would not set you back financially too much.
4. You can sell a game after playing to recoup some of the cost

Cons
1. Games are much more expensive than PC. It keep getting worse with the fx situation.
2. You need to pay PSN subscription fees to play online. (around $50/year, i think)

PC
Pros
1. A lot of games are cracked. you dont have to buy most single player games if you can't afford to.
2. A new gaming laptop with get you better framerate and graphics quality than a PS4.
3. A gaming laptop is portable. you dont have to rely on a TV to play your games.
4. You dont have to buy a UPS for when PHCN strikes.
5. Online gaming is free as long as you have bought the game.
6. A PC has other uses besides gaming.

Cons
1. Effing expensive.
2. No console exclusives for you.
Well said brother..well said

no mind the guy.. he is always like that .. he loves using offensive words but deep down he is just a saint

here is my configuration by the way

alienware

3.5GHZ core i7 6th generation

16GB RAM

GTX 970 ( 3GB RAM)

1TB + 128GB SSD

4K // 17 INCHES

i can play graphics demanding game for longer.. unlike yours due to your core i5 over the beast (1060 gtx )
I've always been a fan of alienware. But I discovered that building your own computer is always going to be cheaper than getting a branded one with the same specs and it allows for more customization. And I also noticed that the laptop versions of graphics cards tend to differ from the PC ones and are often less powerful (my gtx 1060 almost weighs as much as my laptop and comes with 2 fans just for cooling itself lol). Personally, while I do play games, I'm not an intensive gamer. I don't really have as much time for gaming as I used (sad). I use the computer for work mostly and luckily for me the computer specifications for the line of work I do also match up with a gaming rig. I do a lot of graphics work...3D modelling in 3ds max, Unity and Unreal Engine 4 (which is used for creating games cheesy) just to mention a few.

The fish still dey there they make himself feel better with ambiguous statements.

1)The fish initially said, "My processor is faster than some core i7s out there, and it's not really about the number" then he gave a sample of how his processor almost(which can never kill a bird) surpassed a core i7's spec. grin Negating his initial statement.

2)He(the fish) then went on to add that he can overclock it if he wants, grin in a bid to meet up with the specs of the core i7. grin Somebody should help me tell him that he should compare that i5 or i3 overclocked with an overclocked i7.

3)To tell u how little this guy knows about gaming. His idea of a game that is demanding is gta5, grin rétarded mugu. Furthermore he duffed off whatever respect left that would have saved him, by adding that he has no need for a higher processor right now.

Can u imagine the otondo?
Its quite unfortunate that people display such lack of common sense in such a public forum. I said the processor isn't as important as the graphics card when it comes to gaming. I never said a core i5 is more powerful than a core i7. I only said paying the extra money for an i7 wasn't really worth it for me as I don't make use of processor demanding software. Let me give you an instance, here they compared the core i5 6600K with a core i7 6700K and they both finished with a score of 8.2 and considering this particular core i7 costs $210 (N100,000) more than the core i5, it just didn't make sense for me.
Do you even know how many variations these CPUs have? Each CPU has multiple variants but I don''t expect you to know that, your ignorance is glaring for everybody to see. Let me take you to school. My laptop uses a core i5-4210U which is clocked at 1.70GHZ. My Desktop uses a core i5-6600K which is clocked at 3.5GHz. Both core i5s but both are very different. But someone like you will say they are both i5 simply because of ignorance.

Do you even know what a nvidia gtx 1060 is? Have you heard of it? Do you know what it can do? Judging from your comment, its obvious you have no idea. Its a shame really. But we than God for the people who made this forum. It gives us the platform to enlighten the less enlightened. Guy the graphics card alone costs 150k. That's probably more expensive than the lame laptop you're using costs. That's if you even have one. Don't come here and talk to me about computer parts. Like I said, I built my PC from scratch. Part by part. I picked every single part the way I wanted to. You'd think someone capable of doing that should know what he's talking about.

Please post your system specs for all to see. *Getting ready for a good laugh* grin grin grin grin
