A corps member-Dr Nwachukwu Chukwudi, as part of his community development service project has helped in providing two ultrasound scanning machines for his host community. He is in batch A 2015 and currently serving in primary health care centre Doro in bindawa local government area of katsina state. The machines were placed in his ppa (Primary Health Care centre Doro) and Comprehensive Health Care centre bindawa. He also provided training to local health care workers on basic obstetrics ultrasound scanning. Funds for the purchase of the machines and other accessories was provided by the local government leadership through the director of administration and finance. Before now, patients in this rural areas (esp pregnant women) have had to travel as far as 45km to get this services. At the moment PHC doro is the only primary health care centre in Katsina state that can boasts of an ultrasound machine. Kudos
