A futurist and former Presidential Candidate of Liberation Movement, LM, in the 2019 General elections, Dr Kriz David has thrown his weight behind the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi.

In an interview monitored on Arise TV recently, the financial expert and a development economist noted that the ticket of Peter Obi and his runningmate, Yussuf Datti offers a glimpse of hope for Nigerians especially the youths whom he said are disenchanted with the current crop of leaders.

Dr David, who is also the National Chairman of the Liberation Movement, LM, insisted that Nigeria is trapped in a morass of a failed state and will continue in endless cycle of failure until the leadership recruitment process is gotten right.

He said: “In the 2023 elections, there is glimpse of hope because Nigerians, especially the Nigerian youths, have resolved to solve the leadership problem. They have risen up to liberate themselves from the Leadership failure. You see the spontaineity in the obedient Movement largely driven by Nigerian youths.The Peter Obi and Datti ticket, I must say offers a great hope”

According to him, over the years, there has been a problem with the recruiting system in choosing leaders in Nigeria.

On who is responsible for the leadership failure, he insisted that both the leaders and the led share in the blame adding that with the injection of non-career politicians like Peter Obi and Yussuf Datti, right set of leaders are beginning to emerge.

He said: “These two individuals (Obi-Datti) are not vocational politicians that are looking for how to progress their political career. They have demonstrated that they understand the issues bedevilling Nigerians and the capacity to solve them. I believe the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party offers a great hope.”

He said the very essence of government has been ignored.

His words: “It is absurd for anyone to say that the welfare of Nigerians cannot be the subject of election campaign.”
The Strategic Leadership expert, however, berated the Buhari APC led administration lamenting that “Nigeria is a classic case of the crucible of leadership.”

According to him, the undeniable truth is that for the past seven years, Nigerians have experienced the dark side of leadership which he described as the kind of leadership that is insular, pretentious and plays the ostrich.

Professor Chris Imumolen, the Presidential candidate of the Accord Party has vowed to fix Nigeria’s education sector in six months if elected as president come February 2023.

Imumolen an academic , a vastly certified scholar and the youngest candidate in the current race for Nigeria’s presidency made this pledge on during a massive interactive session organized by the PCI movement by his friends across Lagos.

At the session, he also unleashed several empowerment schemes for farmers and other practitioners inlucding the “I Will Prosper” business scheme to accommodate Nigerians who will reap freely from a network that raises millionaires through financial and business opportunities.

The same day, he dolled out funds running into several million to different lucky individuals.

According to Imumolen, the human capital of any nation remains the most vital, the reason he promised to give it paramount attention as president, stressing that the education sector will be allotted about 20% of the budget to ensure that things augur totally well.

“As president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I will ensure that lecturers will be paid as at when due; that the academic environment will be conducive for all students, and they will have cross cultural alignments with foreign students as whites and learners from various climes will find the Nigerian education sector so appealing”, Imumolen promised.

NEWLY appointed presidential spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, yesterday, said, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, would be truthful to Nigerians on what they would do to rescue the country in 2023 unlike those who lied to the people in 2015 and 2019.

Aniagwu, who briefed newsmen in Asaba, expressed hope that former President Olusegun Obasanjo would support the Abubakar and Okowa presidential ticket, saying the God who led him to support Abubakar in 2019 would also lead him (Obasanjo) to him in 2023.

He said: “Obasanjo supported Atiku very well in 2019 and 2019 was the last election. Atiku was more or less Obasanjo’s candidate for 2019. So, if he supported him that much, I don’t think anything has changed between then and now.

“I can tell you in confidence that the same God who led him to support Atiku in 2019 is still very much alive and will lead him to know that Atiku has what it takes to rescue our country from where we are at the moment. We believe that Obasanjo means well for our country, he has demonstrated it in so many ways.

“He chose Atku as running mate in 1999 against all odds even when Atiku had won as governor in Adamawa. He saw a man who was detribalised and those things he saw are still very much around. We are quite optimistic that he will in the interest of the country and in line with his patriotic ideals, support Atiku.

“As at 2015, there were a whole lot of Nigerians who thought there was need for change, and on the face value, they felt that a change would have meant something much more positive.

“The mistake they made that time was that they would not able to look at the change and so most of them in the cause of time, realised that they made a mistake and would want to correct. Atiku has realised that the APC did not deliver on what was promised and that is why he wants to make the difference.”
