The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra may remain in the custody of the Department of State Services until September, as judges of the Federal High Court begin their annual vacation on July 26, the date slated for the hearing of his case.
The judges’ vacation will last till September 17, 2021.

A vacation notice was issued by the Chief Information Officer of the Federal High Court, Catherine Christopher, in Abuja, on Monday.

It reads in part:-
“Pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Honorable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, announces to Hon. Gunmen have abducted the Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu at his residence in Kajuru Local Government Area in Kaduna state. With reports alleging that 13 other members of his family were taken along.
The second-class ruler was kidnapped in a night raid with this event adding to the long series of kidnappings that have been going on in the North-Western state for a while now.
A cabinet member in the Emir’s chamber confirmed that the 85 year old Emir was kidnapped along with three women, two of his grand children, three of his aides and five others.

The Lagos State Police Command has released the father of 21-year-old Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos, Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, who allegedly stabbed the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, to death.

Chidinma’s father was arrested alongside her on Wednesday, June 23 for resisting her arrest. The police had arrived at their Alagomeji apartment on Wednesday night to pick Chidinma up. A student of the Kaduna State Polytechnic identified as Anas Abdullahi has allegedly died in his sleep.
