Science/TechnologyRe: Time Travel And Teleportation: How Possible? by Chustar(m): 6:15pm On Apr 13, 2008
exbogus:
I have a friend who's into time travel. What he said was that time travel would not be possible from earth because the earth is not stationary. So if you leave on a vessel faster than light, there's no way to come back to earth because the earth would have moved from the previous position at take off. Time travel would have to be done at some stationary position in space which means it wouldn't happen in our lifetime.
That is true, unless you calculate where the earth would be when you came back and tried to land there.
Also, this only applies to space travel. For time travel, the earth wouldn't have moved by the time you came back.

herdon collider
wormhole
blackhole
A black hole is an area in space where nothing can escape. It is called a "black hole" because not even light can escape from it.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hole
The hadron collider is a machine that was built to replicate a lot of energy that can't be safely measured otherwise. It's basically a really, really, big particle accelerator.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider

Just to sort of bring the topic back on, topic smiley
I read with interest all the posts here, but I wonder if teleportation is possible? I know its possible but will it be practiced? I can't remember where but I read that to teleport a person, the person's physical body will have to be destroyed and then the information that was copied will be recompiled on the other side. Now, if the physical body is destroyed, is the soul also destroyed? Or does the person die? What happens to the recreated person at the end of the teleportation? Will that one be alive? Will it have a soul? What if it doesn't destroy the person, isn't that cloining? Will there be two Theirry Henrys running around? While its obvious i'm not as educated on the topic as original poster, this is something to think about, no?
Also, someone said something about how God will not allow people to advance too far, and gave Tower of Babel as an example, I think as long as we keep God in view, he will not prevent us from reaching our full potential (whatever that is)
Teleportation and Time travel is fun to talk about.
Also, is the large hedron collider active yet? I remember that some people were suing the Hedron Collider people to prevent them from activating it. They said that if the collider were turned on, it might destroy the universe.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Condoms Should Be Distributed In The Church by Chustar(m): 4:37pm On Mar 02, 2008
Why do you guys have to attack anyone who has a different view from you?
Abstinence should be preached, but the churches and pastors (or priests) need to understand that not everyone is listening. If you can't get them one way, get them another. I don't think it should be in the church, but the church should help distribute them. The supreme aim here is preventing them from getting STDs or pregrant. If you allow a person to die, even if you knew of a way to prevent it, doesn't that condemn you? If you know that condom can help prevent a guy from getting AIDS (condom is not 100% effective) but you allow him to catch it because you're preaching abstinence, that makes you an accessory to his death.
And by the way, my fellow Nigerians, if you want to counter a person's arguments, use logic not insults. If you insult someone, you're saying that because you don't have anything else to say, you're going to attack him.
Certification And Training AdvertsRe: Linux by Chustar(m): 3:21am On Dec 30, 2007
I doubt if you will find a "Linux certified place" The problem is that the Linux OS is not like Microsoft or Apple, there is no regulated board watching over it. If you really want to learn it, the first step would be to download a Distro and start using it! After all, you didn't take classes on Windows before you started using it, you?
I recommend Ubuntu. <www.ubuntu.com> and fedora <www.fedoraproject.org> They are both free to download and use.
There are still hundreds more out there and most of them are free. Detailed installation instructions are also found on the websites.
I have tried both, and although I prefer fedora, people say ubuntu is better. I still use vista, so i don't care much about Linux anymore.
As for places where you can learn Linux, I agree with the other guy about NIIT. I haven't been there yet, but I have heard some really good things about them.
FamilyRe: Protect Your Baby Boy From Becoming A Homosexual by Chustar(m): 11:07pm On Dec 05, 2007
Is this a joke? I hope it is a joke, oh! If anyone followed the rules listed there, their children would go crazy before their tenth birthday!
If it is a joke, then it is one the funniest things i've ever read!
if it is not a joke, then it is one of the scariest things i've ever read.
